Sméagol Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 Wasn't going for artistic value as much, this is pretty much a quick technical test.. Which is why I'm posting this here. Got a nice result indeed, considering I don't have any specialised hardware or set-up.. The principle itself is very simple. I think I'll go experiment with Terragen this evening, perhaps a few more photographs.
Daft Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 So, I came up with the 'Freedom is Fixed' thing while riding my bike last night. Did this this morning. Still needs work. Arg.
Ashley Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 It's cool...but I can't tell if you're going for a socialist angle or I'm just tired.
chairdriver Posted May 28, 2011 Posted May 28, 2011 I assumed it was socialist (red background), but then questioned because you've never carried yourself that way explicitly.
Daft Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 (edited) I'm just a big fan of black and red together. I'll try some different colours. Might go back to my original idea of having the vector chainring in white as a negative space type thang. The whole look at the moment is a bit too heavy. EDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT: So here is my redesign. I'm actually really happy with this. Edited May 29, 2011 by Daft
Magnus Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I like the top half, but the bottom half makes it look like someone took a chainsaw to a bicycle.
Hamishmash Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 It's my friend Jessica's birthday today. We're both animation students and live together and spend many an evening watching Disney movies and crying at the amazing-ness of it. One of her dream jobs would be to be one of the Princess actors at one of the Disney Parks, but she always says there isn't a Princess that looks anything like her. So for her birthday I designed this card so that now there is a Disney Princess that looks like her! We were also working on ideas for a Disney-style Jack and the Beanstalk story, hence the clouds. I haven't shown it to her yet... so I hope she likes it!
ReZourceman Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 So for her birthday I designed this card so that now there is a Disney Princess that looks like her! First of all....that is amazing. Second of all.....if you weren't gay....you'd be getting....so much....yeah. :p (Should I have said this?)
Magnus Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 But if he weren't gay, would he be watching Disney movies with her? It's a nice picture, Hamish. It looks very Disney-y. I'm sure she'll love it.
Hamishmash Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 Okaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.... Gonna back away slowly now. Not sure what's going on. But thanks for the compliments.
Paj! Posted May 29, 2011 Posted May 29, 2011 I love ^ Also the card would be such a stunning thing to receive. (were I Jessica) One thing is that the hair seems...dowdy. Maybe that's her actual hair (sorry Jessica! *shouts into the Kingston night, hoping she hear me*) but it looks too much like a lunchlady's w-afro all tucked into a hairnet.

Magnus Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Well. I was running really low on on blue clay and ended up using too much tinfoil and not enough clay. The clay came loose from the tinfoil in the oven, and now I have a frog Stitch. In retrospect, I probably shouldn't have smoothed out the tinfoil so much. The worst part is that I'm all out of blue clay now, so I won't be able to give this another shot until next week. At least my ugly Toothless has a friend now.
Diageo Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Love the minions Magnus, and the new stitch is very cute.
Rummy Posted June 5, 2011 Posted June 5, 2011 Reminds me of an essay a guy in secondary school got suspended for. It was a 5 page essay about "The day you broke your leg". He wrote "I was walking to school and I tripped over a rock and it was very very very very very very very very very very....." until the end of the 5 pages, then wrote "sore". Hey, if Seth McFarlane can do it... Hamish, Princess Jessica is amazing, how did she like it? Also loving the models Magnus, must be awesome to see them all about your place!
EddieColeslaw Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 Don't think there's a specific thread for decoden/decorating electronics, so I'll just leave this here: With obligatory sparkles. P.S. Never buy Cyber-shot cameras ever ever ever. -- Magnus, you are a wizard with clay (I was going to say "clay wizard" but that doesn't sound right)
Magnus Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 That's some serious bling on that camera. Paris Hilton would love it. Magnus, you are a wizard with clay (I was going to say "clay wizard" but that doesn't sound right) Haha, thanks. I kind of like 'clay wizard'. It makes me sound like a golem who does magic.
ReZourceman Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 Spent a large chunk of this morning re-doing my main YouTube Channel (layout/background/design). http://www.youtube.com/user/ReZourceman YEW GUIZE LIEK IT?
Hamishmash Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) Exclusive screenshot of Disney’s Royal Rumble! 37 characters from Walt Disney’s 50 Animated Classics come together to prove who’s the most classic of all! Maleficent, Ursula, Jafar, Scar and Captain Hook formed an allegiance and discovered the Magic Vault… an enchanted safe containing the original artwork of all the Disney heroes. With the originals, they can create evil copies in order to take over all the worlds in the Disney Universe. But there is one piece of artwork inside… a drawing of demonic face… but to be resurrected it must be taken to Bald Mountain… Play as Mickey Mouse, Aladdin, Peter Pan and a variety of other heroes in order to stop their wicked mission! With 25 levels accompanied by all the most famous songs from your favourite films, this is one brawl that Disney fans can’t afford to miss! Well… if you wish upon a star that is… Edited June 18, 2011 by Hamishmash
Magnus Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 I love the fact that you put Ariel in there. She'd be such a joke character. Just flopping around on the ground while the other characters beat on her. I'd want to play as Stitch, I think. I like the small/fast/cute characters.
Hamishmash Posted June 16, 2011 Posted June 16, 2011 (edited) I love the fact that you put Ariel in there. She'd be such a joke character. Just flopping around on the ground while the other characters beat on her. I'd want to play as Stitch, I think. I like the small/fast/cute characters. I'd probably have her floating about like the fish-Pokemon in Pokemon Stadium. Or she'd be able to transform like Zelda/Sheik between mermaid form and human form like in the movie. Snow White, for those asking (nobody) would also be like Captain Olimar, with the Dwarfs following her and being used as weapons. If they get knocked out, she'd have to sing for new ones. She'd also probably have a frying pan or broom or something. Timon & Pumbaa are quite simple... just controlling Pumbaa with Timon on his back. Aladdin uses the Magic Carpet but also the Genie as a weapon (for example the Genie is behind him and uses his big blue arms to punch enemies as if Aladdin is punching them) And the Incredibles is like the Pokemon Trainer, with either Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, Violet or Dash being playable and the Jack Jack being the Final Smash (or Fantasy Attack I'm calling them). Other than that, everyone's fairly typical fighting-wise. There are clone characters too... Mickey/Minnie, Donald/Daisy, Simba/Scar and Godmother/Merlin. All with certain differences. Master Hand is replaced by Chernabog, the demon from Fantasia. Edited June 16, 2011 by Hamishmash
