Lens of Truth Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Aside from Nights and Samba, which other Sega franchises would work like a dream with the wiimote? A 3d Ecco would be lovely (I'm really hankering after a lush underwater game of any sort since seeing the screen of Forever Blue with the whale shark!). Panzer Dragoon could beat Starfox at it's own game if it was done properly.. I'd love to see an rpg (Shing Force?) that takes the genre a stage further with the controls and interface too. The wiimote's point and click capability could really streamline things, and then you could have variations on the 'waggle' for different attacks/spells etc.

I mean i played it in its day. The graphics are nice and the sound is peaceful and lovely but i don't see gameplay and these were the days where i would play any game. I was a young kid after all. I'm just going to say the games i'd like sega to ressurect. Streets of rage(with rpg elements or something) Golden axe(but it think thats already in the works) thunderforce(but i think technosoft went under.....please put 4 on vc) shinobi( revenge for megadrive is the best....great music) columns(not as good as mean bean machine only because the music is headwrecking)

If Sega made another Golden Axe, I would literally die...from excitement. Actually Sega, I promise NEVER to say a bad thing about you ever again if you bring this game to the Wii.
canocha Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Have you guys played the DC version of Ecco (not.. Echo)? Its really amazing! Nice graphics, music and it was fun and hard!!
mcj metroid Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 no i must admit i have only played the original for megadrive but i was boring... I honestly didn't know what was supposed to be done

SimonM7 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Yeah, Dreamcast Ecco is brilliant. Such a moving sci fi game. Shinobi was resurrected, on PS2, and it was great. It also had a sequel called Kunoichi or 'Nightshade' here which was ALSO great. It didn't quite play like a traditional action game, but relied on a type of "tag" system called "Tate". It had you stringing together foes by slashing them once, each in quick succession. It felt similar to the homing attack in the 3D Sonics, but much, much tighter. Fucking hard as nails however, so not many managed to get anywhere in it. Especially if trying to play it like a "normal" action game. Along with Gunvalkyrie and Jet Set Radio Future one of the most misunderstood and underrated Sega games in recent memory. There was an Altered Beast game aswell but that was just rubbish. Golden Axe is coming, shown only as a CGI trailer so far, but coming nontheless. It's being developed by an external team, but that team also made the horrible Final Fight: Streetwise, so I wouldn't hold my breath for goodness. Streets of rage(with rpg elements or something) That's essentially Yakuza. More in common with Spikeout I suppose (which is even closer to Streets of Rage, and pretty neat actually), that game blends a hub world and semi shenmueish elements with "brawler" type combat instead of turn based events. You essentially wind up in random encounters, but the fighting is realtime and you can learn new moves and stuff. It starts out pretty slow but gets really good. Built in "hostess" dating game, batting cages, gambling houses and whatnot suggest Shenmue, but it's really SoR/spikeout in a hub world wrapping.

Gun Valkyrie was an awesome game on the Xbox as was JSRF and Panzer Dragoon Orta. They probably would have done alot better had they been released on the PS2 instead of the Xbox. Spikeout was another game was really fun to play, especially online. I had been waiting for that game for years as I remember reading about it in a Sega Saturn mag when they were developing it for the arcades.
SimonM7 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I think Shinobi and Gunvalkyrie should've had MUCH more in depth tutorials on how to play them. I haven't seen a single video on a single professional website that reviews games, that actually played like you're supposed to. If you wait on the title screen in GV you'll eventually see an attract mode video that shows some proper gameplay, but it's just too little, I doubt most people even know it's there. So it's sort of Sega's own fault, but it's unfortunate for everybody, because like you say they're great fun when you do know how to play them.
Owen Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Have you guys played the DC version of Ecco (not.. Echo)? Its really amazing! Nice graphics, music and it was fun and hard!! Got it a couple of months ago, it's absolutely amazing and looks stunning. I was very surprised.
Daft Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Jet Set Radio, would love to spray a tag with the Wiimote.
Daroh Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Yes... I'd LOVE to see a Jet Set/Grind Radio game for the Wii, or even DS, cel shading does look rather nice on there.
ShadowV7 Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Skies of Arcadia 2 dammit, what must a fan go through for a sequal. Fact I want a Sonic Adventure 2 sequal, none of this Heroes and Shadow stuff,a proper one with a good camera and control system and story.
SimonM7 Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Yeah I'm quite frankly a bit puzzled about Skies of Arcadia. It sold pretty well, and was critically acclaimed. Sequel should be a no-brainer really.

pedrocasilva Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Has Samba been officialy anounnced? No, not yet; just rumors, and even if you believe in what they said it doesn't exactly confirm it's coming, it confirms that it's a possibility.
ShadowV7 Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 According to a guy from rumour reporter it is since his source gave an obvious hint about it,and his source was right about NiGHTS and something else.Apart from that nothing else has been said.

But yeah, if we believe the rumors it's bound to happen (and if we look to the hardware it's bound to happen too :p)
Smiter Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 My dream list: NiGHTS (already confirmed) Skies of Arcadia 2 Samba de Amigo Crazy Taxi Virtua Tennis House of the Dead I'd love to see more arcadey games in the vein of the Dreamcast library. That system was so damn good. Not a day goes by when I don't regret selling my DC... Maybe I'll keep an eye out on Ebay.
