Paj! Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 As I've always said, even I don't like all of Milk-Eyed Mender. YS is lovely, it's not scratchy like MEM, but still very much an acquired taste. I will just take a day off to lie on the floor listening to this upcoming almost 3-hour album.
S.C.G Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Frak. Joanna Newsom's new album details summary - It's called "Have One On Me" (Official cover. Such a statement, considering YS) - It's out on the 23rd of Feb - It's a triple album. I'm stunned... not once... not twice... but thrice...
Caris Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Has anyone heard Four Tet's new album? I'm downloading as we speak.
Oxigen_Waste Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Has anyone heard Four Tet's new album? I'm downloading as we speak. What you'd expect... fantastic.
ipaul Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Has anyone heard Four Tet's new album? I'm downloading as we speak. Funny you should say that, I'm just uploading it as we speak It's so good! Bought it on CD today, although they didn't have Fuck Buttons which was what I had really wanted.
Dante Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 This topic is now on IGN boards? Anyway Soundgarden returns after 12 years.
Paj! Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Because Chris Cornell realised what a fool he sounded working with Timbaland on his last album?
Dan_Dare Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 You'd hope so. Rather he reformed Temple of the Dog, mind. Creative peak etc.
Paj! Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I don't think I've seen it mentioned, but I wondered if anyone else has been listening to IRM by Charlotte Gainsbourg? It's her new album, produced by Beck (he features in a few songs vocally too), and is just really good/nice. ^ New single/video
ReZourceman Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 (edited) (I have this comic <3) Erm, I'm probably late to the party, and might be mocked of its apparent "indyish gone mainstream" status but I like; Also this amuses me reasonably but not a huge amount. I find their voices much more harmonious and complimentary of each others than the previous iterations of the band. *Vanishes from thread, whence he dares to tread* Edited January 28, 2010 by ReZourceman
Paj! Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Sugababes have sunk so low. It's horrendous. I've expressed my hate for Fireflies before, though it's lessened, slightly. Is it doing well over here? I try and avoid radio these days.
chairdriver Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Florence's track from Here Lies Love Really interesting. I like it less than Santigold's Please Don't though. It's really shaping up to be a brilliant album!
ipaul Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Fireflies is number one isn't it.....ergh. Hideous song. There's something much nicer
Paj! Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 ^ I love Music Has The Right To Children, but haven't explored anything else by BoC. I should get on that.
ReZourceman Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 (edited) I've gone off the fireflies song now. Lol. Sugababes have sunk so low. It's horrendous. Haw cumz? Edited January 29, 2010 by ReZourceman Automerged Doublepost
Paj! Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Because they used to be successful but have a little bit an "edge" to them. Mutya Buena's voice was kinda interesting, and their production wasn't complete bubblegum pop. Songs like Freak Like Me (sampling Gary Numan), Overload etc are definitely out of the ordinary pop songs. Now they just sound like every other girl band around with the current popular sound. You can just hear that none of the original members are left.
Ramar Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 They've not really sunk low, they've always been that crap.
chairdriver Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Well anyone with any sense can tell this is better than the stuff they're pumping out now:
Ashley Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Better comparatively, yes. Good...not so much.
Paj! Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I was comparing their old stuff and their new stuff. No one said whether it was great music or not.
Ashley Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 You were implying they were better than by-the-number girl bands :p Anyway its all moot. Nobody likes them anymore.
Paj! Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 *muffled mumblings* Anyway. This song is stuck in my head, from upcoming concept album about Imelda Marcos by David Byrne (and Fatboy Slim) and about 50 different famous female vocalists. This one has Florence + The Machine in it.
Slaggis Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 (edited) The lead single from the Alice In Wonderland: Soundtrack from Avril Lavigne. Not the lead single from her upcoming album however (Thank god), which is out in April. Edited January 30, 2010 by Slaggis
Paj! Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Her shouting is really unappealing in that song.
