Daft Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 Contracting the AIDs > Being made to socialise with Lily Allen. Aren't they the same thing?
or else you will DIE Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 ^^^ not going to argue with that one Contracting the AIDs > Being made to socialise with Lily Allen. yah this one
Slaggis Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 *Ignores* I love "Fuck you (Fuck You Very Much)" Basically a song about Racists, Homophobics etc. It's amazing that she manages to sound so deliciously innocent, whilst singing it.
Slaggis Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 it called Guess Who Batman isnt? It was, but it's been changed to "Fuck You" for the albums release.
Razz Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 it called Guess Who Batman isnt? That was like a placeholder name I think.
Dante Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 It was, but it's been changed to "Fuck You" for the albums release. Thank you! I thought the song was about George Bush.
Paj! Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 I prefer the original name. Much more interesting. I quite like The Fear, and will probs get the album, as she's generally alright.

GothicPlague Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 HOLY SHIT. Half way through Grammatics self titled album and it is amazing. This could easily be the album of the year (unless Muse get one out this year) and is definitely an album I have to physically own. anyway some wiki description about them: Grammatics are a complex but melodic four piece indie-rock group from Leeds, UK, consisting of Owen Brinley (guitar/vocals), Emilia Ergin (cello), Dominic Ord (drums) and Rory O’Hara (bass). the band shared a desire to sway the UK indie scene away from the minimalist barebones approach employed by many post-Libertines and Strokes bands of the time and reinject some drama and grandeur back into English music. They resolved to do this with an approach they termed ‘maximalist’ and took to filling their sound out with any instruments available to hand, no matter how cheap and basic. Also youtube:
Dan_Dare Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I like the idead they're trying to put across - It's high time Netto indie died a well earned death IMO- but I don't find that track particularly interesting. Maybe I'm just too used to going elsewhere for more complex music anyway.

Dan_Dare Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 yeah. still, best of luck to them I suppose. They have their audience but it's not me. Personally I'm back on the Mogwai. I think Young Team might be one of the best rock albums of all time. It's just so fucking good. Music is bigger than words and wider than pictures I know you've not always been a fan paj but you should check out Young Team out if you can. Sublime.
ReZourceman Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Manchester Orchestra have a very powerful/amazing/breathtaking song.... Also posted this in the funny videos thread, but its relevant here too, and amazing.
spenno182 Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Good work on the Manchester Orchestra mate everyone should listen
Paj! Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I listened to the Manchester Orchestra (awful band name) song, and it was nice, but I was surfing, so I didn't here anything really after the first line. --- Personally I'm back on the Mogwai. One day I'll look into them more, I just wasn't that fond of come on die young. I might get the new one next. --- I'm addicted to this song. I love beat-driven, slightly african-sounding songs...It's amazing with heavy bass. This Is - Grace Jones
Guest Captain Falcon Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I've never posted in this thread before, but I've listened to other peoples contributions and been pleasantly surprised on occasions. My brother told me about this band called Empire of the Sun. I did a quick search and didn't find any mention of them in this thread, so I thought I'd post one of their tracks which has me hooked at the moment. Very reminiscent of MGMT, but that's no bad thing. This particular track is "We Are The People"
Slaggis Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 I cannot stop listening to this (and the rest of the album). I just wish the song didn't have the classic "disney ending".
thirtynine. Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 http://www.myspace.com/emmythegreat New album out in febuary. Shes totally good.
Slaggis Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Kelly Clarkson - My Life Would Suck Without You (Video) It will get removed really quickly, so watch it while you can. She just broke the record in America for the biggest leap to number one, 97 - 1. That's her first number once since she won American Idol, not even Since U Been Gone managed it (Number 2).

The video itself reminded me of 'The Fall'... Stumbled upon this which I nothinged (although its catchy) but felt the need to share as it has random people from TV land including Ryan Hansen as a rediculously OTT backing dancer: Caitlin Crosby - Still Have My Heart I'd imagine Haggis would like it.

The guy in the blue shorts is a severe case of I would. In an albeit-he's-really-camp-and-slightly-weird kinda way.
Slaggis Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 Caitlin Crosby - Still Have My Heart I'd imagine Haggis would like it. You imagined correctly, I really like it. I love the chorus bits in the video, utterly mental. The guy in the blue shorts is a severe case of I would. He looks like the jock guy from She's The Man. I could be COMPLETELY wrong, mind...
