nightwolf Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I'm probably abit late on the bandwagon (as per usual), bought the slipknot album last week, sigh, was abit of a let down, psychosocial was the only good song on there, maybe sulphur. £10 wasted. Pinks new song is fantastic, but then I've always liked pinks songs anyway. I'm also sick of the katy perry song! -.- As to christina, she's always been a pretty girl, but this new prittsy look is doing my head in, what happened to dreads and long blonde hair. Grr.
fex Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Yeh I've had a quick listen to the new Slipknot Alb, and from what I've heard im not that impressed. Stone Sour FTW

No way, Dead Memories, Wherein Lies Continue, Snuff and All Hope Is Gone are amazing songs! Got my tickets through the post for the first Hammersmith gig yesterday. Can't wait. Also got all of Hit The Lights albums today in the post, I can't help but like generic pop punk.

It's an alright album, but it just lacks something, I was hoping this album was going to amazing and it was for about five minutes, then I just noticed it was boring.
Ramar Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 I'd definitely say at first it wasn't impressive, but after a few listens some songs stand out. I would also agree as a complete album its no where near their best.

Grr. 6 Years ago she had those dreads XD I think she looked the best during her last album's reign.
The fish Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 'her last album's reign'? The boy is in love, let him be!
triforce_keeper Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 'her last album's reign'? I shouldn't chosen a more suitable word, I meant like, during it's time as her latest album.... If you get me XD
Jon Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Just heard the new single off the new Snow Patrol album, "take back the city". Very dissapointed, sounds like some dodgy b-side.
conzer16 Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Metallic'a Death Magnetic released today. I love it.
Paj! Posted September 12, 2008 Posted September 12, 2008 Bought The Best of Middle Of The Road, for a laugh. And The Bairns, by Rachel Unthank & The Winterset, which was nominated for this years Mercury prize. It's great fun. Bad quality vids on Youtube though.
soag Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I'm glad to say the new Metallica album Death Magnetic is a huge step back to form for Metallica . It's no kill em all, puppets or jusitce for all, but its better than load, relaod and st. anger. Some rocking tunes All Hail Metallica.
nightwolf Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 6 Years ago she had those dreads XD I think she looked the best during her last album's reign. I think she looks abit odd. She's turned into a doll, literally and I hate that, why look the same as all the others. gah.
Roostophe Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 I realised last night that Oasis are actually a hit-and-miss band to me. While I really like some of their songs (e.g. Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, Rock & Roll Star, The Importance Of Being Idle, Little By Little and Acquiesce), there are others I just don't like at all (Champagne Supernova and Lyla spring to mind). I used to think they were just crap, but had made a few songs that were simply above-average. But I gave them a proper listen (The Q music channel were playing nothing but Oasis all last night.) and I came to said conclusion.
Daft Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Have I missed something or is Hot Chip's 'Made in the Dark' crap? Only listened to it once and only one song has really grabbed me.
Oxigen_Waste Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Have I missed something or is Hot Chip's 'Made in the Dark' crap? Only listened to it once and only one song has really grabbed me. Do you like Hot Chip? Cause if you don't, it's useless. If you do, however, it's a great album.
Daft Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Do you like Hot Chip? Cause if you don't, it's useless. If you do, however, it's a great album. Yeah, I loved Coming on Strong and The Warning. Guess I'll have to give it a few more goes.
chairdriver Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I've always hated Hot Chip. I'm listening to Robyn for the first time (I realise I'm literally a year late). She's good, for popelectrodance standards.
Oxigen_Waste Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I'm so fucking sick and tired of the French Touch... it hurts.
Paj! Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I came around to The Warning, but Made In The Dark sounds cheap and from the listens I've given it, is a bit rubbish. In other news; Burial is amazing. As are Rachel Unthank & The Winterset. I'd kinda prefer they'd got the Mercury prize over Elbow. Also, finally bought Exile In Guyville by Liz Phair. Love it already. ---- Obligatory Burial video.
Oxigen_Waste Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 Burial is the perfect urban soundtrack.
Daft Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 My friend bought us tickets of my birthday to see Sébastien Tellier on the 24th of January. I am so happy. Best birthday present ever, and I didn't even have to buy it for myself!!! I came around to The Warning, but Made In The Dark sounds cheap and from the listens I've given it, is a bit rubbish. That's the feeling I'm getting. I'm hoping I warm to it though. I love The Warning. Look After Me is just the most brilliant song.
The fish Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I love The Warning. Look After Me is just the most brilliant song. F'ing seconded! I think they're both good albums, though The Warning takes home the prize. Ready For The Floor remains a favourite song of mine, though.
Daft Posted September 14, 2008 Posted September 14, 2008 I like Ready For The Floor but I think this remix of it blows it out of the water. I can't even listen to the original any more.
