Dan_Dare Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 What the hell, RATM where in Berlin? I just got back from a 5 day trip there. How the hell did I not know?!?! Also; Radiohead gig is now just 2 weeks today! I'm so hyped it's unreal. I'll be there, man! WWEEOEEOEOEEOOOO!!1
chairdriver Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I left my iPod at a friend's house, and I feel naked walking to and from school without listening to music.
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Breaking news... The new Metallica album has been named "Death Magnetic" And will be released in September. Sounds good what I have heard of it so far. Not sure about the title though http://www.missionmetallica.com Somebody should just kill them already. I like the name, cant wait for the new album its been forever since the release of St. Anger. Are you actually eager to listen to it? Jesus Christ.
Athriller Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Can't stop Listening to Modest Mouse's cover of Slayer's South of Heaven, it's completely different yet just as ridiculously awesome.
Owen Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Well for me 'Metrostation' are rocking my world lately..and i'll say that before the UK grab em in their dirty mits! Watch this space!
MadDog Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Im addicted to Coldplay - viva la vida Cant stop listening to it :S
Owen Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Im addicted to Coldplay - viva la vida Cant stop listening to it :S I quite like the single...though i doubt i'll buy the album..we'll see...
Dog-amoto Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Somebody should just kill them already. Are you actually eager to listen to it? Jesus Christ. Metallica are awesome. Anyone who says otherwise... ...is wrong :p
Noodleman Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Metallica are awesome. Anyone who says otherwise... ...is wrong :p Metallica are indeed awesome, i'm just so thankful they stoped making new albums after And Justice For All. 4 albums is enough they realised the 80's was their time and went out on a high.
DomJcg Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Metallica are indeed awesome, i'm just so thankful they stoped making new albums after And Justice For All. 4 albums is enough they realised the 80's was their time and went out on a high. What are you tal- oh! sarcasm right... Well they need some thing besides their greatest hits to play at reading =]
The Bard Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 What are you tal- oh! sarcasm right... Well they need some thing besides their greatest hits to play at reading =] No they don't. Perfect Metallica gig: Battery Disposable Heroes Blackened The Unforgiven For Whom The Bell Tolls Sanitarium Creeping Death Harvester of Sorrow Nothing Else Matters Master of Puppeeeeeeetz To Live is To Die/ Call of Ktulu medley One And to cap it off, the incomparable Orion. And if they absolutely have to...Enter Sandman *sigh* New album: It seems like most of the time they're in the studio, they just sit around talking absolutely worthless bullshit and throwing around futile comments. Having like, almost a year in the studio doesn't strike me as the best environment to record an album in. It seems like they're just throwing shit together without having a thorough idea as to what they want the songs to be. It's fucked up. I wish they'd stop making albums just for the sake of making albums. If they've lost their drive, they should stop jerking us around. They don't seem to have the will to create without being ushered or babysat through it all. What I've heard: Anyone with a guitar and a love of thrash should be able to come up with the sort of generic riffs I've heard so far. But seeing as it's metallica, most people just hear a quick hammer on followed by a few chugging triplets and think everything's in order. I sincerely, with all my heart hope that I'm completely wrong and that the new record turns out to be as good as Megadeth's latest effort. But then, the difference between them and Metallica is that Mustaine is still a smouldering ginger ball of anger, whereas Metallica, well, music doesn't take priority in any of their lives anymore.
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Metallica are awesome. Anyone who says otherwise... ...is wrong :p Wrong tense. Noodleman said it all. Now go back to bed!
The fish Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 Strawberry Swing on Viva la Vida is annoying. When I listen to it, I feel really, really happy, which I shouldn't, seeing as I have 2 evil exams in the next two days... *hums*
soag Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 No they don't. DCK Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Strawberry Swing on Viva la Vida is annoying. When I listen to it, I feel really, really happy, which I shouldn't, seeing as I have 2 evil exams in the next two days... *hums* Yeah, agree here. My exams are spread out over the next week, but it has such a great summer vibe, it makes my mind wander of every time. Wish it was next week. I really love Viva La Vida, it really shows that Coldplay is capable of doing more than Clocks.
Dan_Dare Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Listening to Journey. Thing is, people are often all 'lolz, Journey. Ironylol' but really, this is some seriously well written music. In the last five years, who's written anything even close to the intro for Don't Stop Believing? Modern rock is shit- this is brilliant.
Athriller Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Don't stop believing wil always remind me of the Sopranos finale. Perfect song for the perfect ending to a perfect show.
Oxigen_Waste Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 When I saw Metallica in 2006 their setlist was amazing, they played Ecstasy of gold Creeping Death Fuel Wherever I May Roam The God That Failed The Unforgiven Battery Master Of Puppets Thing That Should Not Be Welcome Home Sanitarium Disposable Heroes Leper Messiah Orion Damage Inc Sad but True Happy Birthday NothiNG Else Matters (With Jerry Cantrell) One Enter Sandman Whiskey In The Jar Seek & Destroy Now noone can disagree thats one hell of a gig. soag Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Fuel, Whikskey in the Jar, The God That Failed and Sad But True shouldn't have been there. Fuel - the only good song of Reload Whiskey in the jar - they were playing in ireland so they had to play it, the crowd chanted for it all night, also its one hell of a song The god that failed - its a classic Sad But True - another classic
DCK Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Yeah, what's wrong with The God That Failed and Sad But True? In my opinion, The Black Album is another one of Metallica's classics... It's different, but it's good.
Noodleman Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Yeah, what's wrong with The God That Failed and Sad But True? In my opinion, The Black Album is another one of Metallica's classics... It's different, but it's good. The black album is horrible its my most hated album of all time. Basically if you want to go from being an underground metal band to sucking MTV's cock in one move you release the Black album.
The Bard Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 That's hilarious. The God that failed is pretty bad. There are only three songs on the Black album that are great; Unforgiven, Nothing Else Matters, and...well, My Friend of Misery, because it has a brilliant solo. Sad But True is heavy, but also incredibly monotonous and repetitive. Sandman is so damn cheesy it makes me cringe. (Same goes for Fuel btw). There are some good riffs on that album, but almost every song feels overcooked and samey. Metallica's best albums in order: ...And Justice for All/ Master of Puppets Ride The Lightning Kill 'em All [/end]
Noodleman Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Compared to ride the lightning, master of puppets and ...and justice for all then yes it is.
