Gizmo Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 so: New Muse live album confirms expectations of being utterly ridiculous, but reminds me why I like them DVD + CD set comes out a week today
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Oh and the reason I buy the Best of albums from artists is usually only because of money constraints. Cause I know I don't have the kind of money to buy all the CDs I want to. You are hereby forgiven, miss. Geez, even being a kid, i have right to express my opinion, right? :S Also, i don't see the bad thing about Rammstein, i love their musics, Ramstein, Rosenrot, Ohne Dich, Mein Teil, Mann Gegen Mann, Spring, Zerstroen (something like this). Seriously, the only thing I can tell you is... wait, you will, one day. I've been where you are, and I guarantee you, when you're 18, you'll be through with that shit. And of course you have the right to express your opinion, I never said you didn't. It's just, I'll most likely be there to criticize your taste. I'm joking kid-o, I like you. Sigur Rós 'Heima'. Saved me twenty quid, thanks guys. Be warned, its 95 minutes long. And it's also 95 minutes awesome. I have it... in true DVD. Yay me! And what do you mean 20 quid? I bought Hvarf-Heim and Heima, all together for about 12 quid. Surely you're being robbed...
Tom Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 And it's also 95 minutes awesome. I have it... in true DVD. Yay me! And what do you mean 20 quid? I bought Hvarf-Heim and Heima, all together for about 12 quid. Surely you're being robbed... i paid £14 just for Hvarf-Heim. feeling a little robbed now. I will buy heima i think, i was really gutted none of my local cinemas showed it.
Paj! Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 That should be a sin. Anyway, that pretty much tells me why you hated Lost In Translation, you're more a fan of the mainstream "single" composition style. I, personally, find there's much more fun and enjoyment to be had exploring the more loose-composition-style pieces, not the singles. Sure, singles might get in your head fast and stay there for a while... but it's the other ones who linger in your head in the long run. I always thought that "best of" albums should be renamed "best known of". I agree. I have to say, Tori Amos GH, is very interesting as it has like less than half of all the singles she's ever released, and most of the songs are album tracks, with rerecorded B-sides and 2 new songs completely. It's what got me into her, but even so, had I had the choice, I would have just got the albums. I'll be saying RATM live this summer. Weirdest line up ever... seriously: Rage Against The Machine Gogoll Bordello Peaches Cansei De Ser Sexy I'm actually pretty fucking hyped... seeing RATM live is an old dream of mine, I love Peaches, and Gogol Bordello = win. Shame about CSS being there... oh well, maybe I'll get to drink another beer with the mighty sexy Lovefoxxx. Why is it a shame CSS being there..? Prefer them to the others realist. Of course metalheads will probably boo them off stage or something.
The Bard Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Speaking of Rammstein, Du Hast has to be the most hilarious song ever. Driving down the road pointing at random people and shouting "NEIN!!!" is jolly good fun. They are shit though.

Isn't that the one where they sing/shout Ich Hast every so often with a vaguely progressive drum beat?
chairdriver Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I need The Ting Tings and Blood Red Shoes to release new stuff.
Paj! Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Currently listening to one of the best/my favourite albums ever; By Joanna Newsom

I hate CSS. That's why. Anyway, if they boo CSS, they're just as likely to boo Peaches. And if anyone boo's Peaches, we all know how that's gonna end, right? Currently listening to one of the best/my favourite albums ever; By Joanna Newsom One of the few records who get my 10/10.
DomJcg Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 One of the few records who get my 10/10. Which are the others?
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Which are the others? I'll make a list... Post it later... lol
Eenuh Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 What a coincidence. Yesterday Aimless mentions Lou Rhodes, and today she's on Belgian television singing a song from her new album. ='3 Anyway, still need to order those Cocorosie CDs, once I find the time to figure out where they are cheapest. ^____
Aimless Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 Yesterday Aimless mentions Lou Rhodes, and today she's on Belgian television singing a song from her new album. ='3 I think she's doing a solo European tour at the moment, so presumably that's why. Or I hijacked Belgian television in order to manipulate your buying decisions, but I seem to remember deciding that was a bad idea. I found out yesterday — whilst looking for somewhere that streamed her music — that the Australian version of Bloom came with an acoustic version of the Lamb song 'Gabriel'. I find bonus tracks simultaneously annoying and great, as on one hand they mean I can miss out on songs as they aren't present on the UK album, but on the other I sometimes come across nice surprises later on.
Mundi Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 So anyone listen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor? Been listening to them since last summer. Absolutely love them
thirtynine. Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I hate CSS. That's why. Anyway, if they boo CSS, they're just as likely to boo Peaches. And if anyone boo's Peaches, we all know how that's gonna end, right? One of the few records who get my 10/10. Im going to have to pick that album up now. Highly rated by two forum members with great taste. God Damn you both. Damn you both to hell.

chairdriver Posted March 10, 2008 Posted March 10, 2008 I can't listen to Ys without being really in the mood for it though. I mean, none of the songs are shorter than 5 minutes. You actually have to plan a spot in your day to accomodate it. They call me quiet. But I'm a rrriot.

Truth be told, I'm a sucker for long songs.
chairdriver Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Monkey & Bear makes me laugh everytime inside, I'll give you that. Just so goddamn quirky.
thirtynine. Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I hope you like Folk. I do. Ive been meaning to check it out for a while, never got round to it, no I geuss i have too.
Slaggis Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Is Mika the most annoying guy on the planet? I think he might just be. The final nail in the coffin was when I was asleep in a mates bedroom with a few other guys after a night out, all the girls came in, and started blaring out "Sucking On Your Lollipop" to wake us up. Amusing would not be the word I would use. Why's he so popular?

Paj! Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 ^ I love. Oxigen, I now you love Joanna so E-props. YS is just amazing. I need to be in more of the mood for it than White Chalk by Pj Harvey, which I can just always put on, but even so, great. 10/10
Wesley Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Part of the Leonard Cohen tour was announced. Not sure if I should hold out for dates that might be announced that are closer to me or to go for the Manchester ones...
Hem Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 I'll make a list... Post it later... lol I'm looking forward to this .
