Back To Basics is too long, and had too many crap songs.

Instead of 2 discs they should have had 1, with the followings songs:

1) Welcome

2) Ain't No Other Man

3) Candy Man

4) Makes Me Wanna Pray

5) On Our Way

6) I Got Trouble / Hurt (like they do in the single verison)

7) Understand

8) Slow Down Baby

9) Save Me From Myself

The album would be far better if she cut out all the crap interludes and dedication songs.

Hasn't she just had a baby (or due to) though?

(thus wouldn't be in the studio)

Yeah she is actually, didn't think of that D=

Hmm I kinda agree. Although I enjoy the interludes, as I feel it makes it an experience rather than just listening to music.

And you should add 10) Oh Mother =]

The Whitest Boy Alive. Seriously, do eet. Do eet now!

ALSO:

I've been listening to lots of mixes laely y'know where a DJ mixes loads of songs and records his output), and one track caught my ears... why is there Metallica in a Hardstyle mix I thought?

It was none other then Dj Zany & MC DV8 - Nothing else matters

And my god, it is awesome.

Aww my god, that's so utterly shit they should die. Sorry Twozzok, but anyone who claims that has any merit should got to a psichiatrist... they completely murdered the song. Jesus fucking christ, that's just ridiculously bad.

Well to be fair, I think TWBA is a bit shit so it all evens out in the end :p

EDIT: Haha, if you think the version on youtube is shit, don't listen to the vinyl version XD.

Ah, it's cos the youtube is a live version.

Chairdriver's top 10 albums of 2007

1) This Is The Life - Amy Macdonald

Move over Sandi! KT, you have competition! This 19 y/o Glasgow girl is superb. Her vocals are awesome; about an octave lower than any other female singer, and powerful to boot. Her scottish accent is a delight - it's not like the Proclaimers where the accent actually ruins the song, in fact this is probably the only time I'd say I liked the accent of someone from Glasgow. This album is a real gem, and definetly one I'll love forever.

2) The Con - Tegan and Sara

The Con is Tegan and Sara's fifth studio album, and their best. These Canadian twins are definately my favourite duo in music. However, the rather ironic thing is that it would probably be more accurate to call it Tegan or Sara, since they both write and perform their own songs. Tegan's songs are a mix of catchy rock/pop and reflective slow songs, wheras Sara's are much more quirky and alternative. It feels like every song has it's own personality though, and the album wouldn't be complete if one was missed out. Tegan and Sara FTW!

3) Volta - Bjork

After the hit-and-miss album Medulla, Bjork comes back with a bang with her newest album Volta. With the help of Mark Bell and Antony Heggarty she brings out another album of pure geniousness. My favourite album of hers, but probably not her best, its one that's seen the inside of the CD player alot. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us in 2008.

4) Overpowered - Roisin Murphy

Roisin Murphy is the queen of dance pop, no question. It seems as though she can just sit down and write a tune that will get anyone dancing as soon as they hear it. This album is awesome.

5) Galore - Dragonette

Said to be "the missing link between Gwen Stefani and Dita Von Teese" by NME, Dragonette bring downright dirtyness to the pop world (take a look at the videos for their singles "I Get Around" and "Take It Like A Man", which show lesbian kisses and a porno shoot respectively). Although the singles are significantly better than the rest of the album, its still a great album.

6) Drastic Fantastic - KT Tunstall

It does what it says on the tin - it is fantastic. Alot more upbeat than the previous album, it packs loads of great songs into one album.

7) White Chalk - PJ Harvey

The number 1 thing that makes this album so awesome is how depressing it is. I would understand if someone decided to commit suicide after listening to this a couple of times. Don't let that put you off though, this album is expertly crafted.

8) Standing In The Way Of Control - The Gossip

Beth Ditto = legend. Enough said.

9) Fantastic Playroom - New Young Pony Club

While technically quite bad music, you've got to love this band. With a song called "Jerk Me", how can you not? Their sound vaguely reminds me of CSS, which makes me instantly drawn to them. Nu-Rave FTW!

10) The Reminder - Feist

While 1234 is vastly overrated, this album is very charming. However, there are only about 5 songs that are memorable; I don't ever recall ever having listened to "The Park". It's a good album nontheless.

I think I definately need to check out Tegan and Sara, Roisin Murphy and of course pick up Volta aswell as her other albums...

Just wondering do you prefer female singers to males?

You can tell?

I very rarely say to myself "I love his voice.", but I say "I love her voice" to myself all the time.

Dunno why, women just generally have better voices IMO.

100% agree. Women just sound better when singing than men do (in most cases, not all). There's something about a women singing that sounds better than a man singing the same song.

Also, my favourite song of 2007 has changed. It ended up being Hallelujah - Paramore

I heard Ashes by Embrace for the first time in ages. Forgot how uplifting I find that song (although I'd imagine most people would scoff at Embrace, although truth be told I only like a few songs). Came on shuffle when life took me down a few pegs a few years ago and it always cheered me up.

It's "Love + Pain" by Clor.

The actual lyric is "wide eyed and open mouthed" which is possibly why it didn't show up in any searches.

Sadly Clor have now split up, shame because they were great.

That's the song I hate most off the album, lol.

Haha, howcome? I really like the way it's sung, with the really low bits, then high bits but it's her voice, it could make anything sound good. The lyrics on the song aren't really that wonderful though, but still, it's a great song.

Also, agreed about Standing in the way of control. It's a great album.

You are aware that at no point was 2006 the same year as 2007?

I haven't bought any albums in a while, didn't get any at Xmas. The only music I've been listening to recently are songs from Guitar Hero III and WWE Entrance Themes.

Speaking of WWE Entrance themes, Motorhead's 'The Game' is an awesome song.

Agh, I remember Clor. They got on my tits, I couldn't stand them. ::shrug:

Are you sure that isn't just the song? The song promises so much in terms of her powerful voice, but the album delievers little to support this.

Ah! But there was a re-release in 2007 along with the single back when skins was still on as far as I know. So sort of technically it can be included.
