Roostophe Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Got the game. () Brother imported it via Play-Asia, cost him a bit. (There was absolutely NO way that he was waiting until October.) Played a fair bit of it. Love it all so far.
Jimbob Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Got the game. () Brother imported it via Play-Asia, cost him a bit. (There was absolutely NO way that he was waiting until October.) Played a fair bit of it. Love it all so far. I'm still awaiting it to arrive from Play-Asia, ordered it on the 14th, its now the 23rd. And the order still says "Preparing Order". Can't wait to play it now to be fair.
flameboy Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Well about 5 hours in the single player and enjoying it so far. Everything is there that you would expect is there, all the sound effects are spot on everything looks authentic and as you'd expect. I like the extra weapons although if I was them I would have had them revealed in a different order. Would have the slime revealed first as it is a natural progression from Ghostbusters 2 as they have the positively charged slime in that. I think the writing is spot on but as many people have said Bill Murray is not up to scratch he doesn't seem to share the same gusto as the other actors like he is on autopilot. He has some great lines but they tend to full flat because of his lackluster delivery. Dan Akyrod still has that childish enthusiasm as Ray nailed... Think the plot so far has been pretty awesome and nice to see them take some of the elements from Ghostbusters: Hellbent/In Hell and nice how it ties in with the first film. Played a bit of multiplayer last night as and it was really enjoyable experience, think it perhaps benefited from being being outsourced leaving terminal reality with plenty of time to concentrate on the single player experience.
ReZourceman Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 I'm on the end of the library bit, the portals. What do I have to do? Shoot the chains on the bridge? What with if so? Or not that? Which portals? Am hax stuck.
Hero-of-Time Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 Use the Slime Tether ( secondary fire of the Slime Gun ) attach it to the bridge and then the other end to the floor this will pull the bridge down. I think thats the part your on
Roostophe Posted June 24, 2009 Posted June 24, 2009 I wanna know just how many of you say "Beautiful!" when you're using the slime gun. So...who's said it? I have.

Happenstance Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Ive played up to the Stay Puft man so far and im mixed. On the one hand its got a very good "Ghostbusters" feel to it, I love the character interaction and everything and of course the proton pack is fun. On the other though I think if this was anything other than Ghostbusters I would find it a bit of an average game and might not have rented it at all.

I think the controls can be kind of cumbersome sometimes especially the turning when surrounded by enemies, but then I make the excuse in my head that they are middle aged men carrying massive proton packs on their backs like Terminal Reality factored that in to their control mechanics.
Happenstance Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 You know this battle with Stay Puft is bringing back memories of Shadow of the Collossus, I feel so bad. Poor guy just wants to be loved! :p Also thankgod my saved game reappeared this morning, last night I went to load it and only "New Career" was showing up.

Happenstance Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 (edited) That's happened to me twice already, first time was majorly pissed at the prospect of starting over. This is pissing me off now, its refusing to bring up the resume option, ive tried going back to the dash, ive tried turning the console off and on again! EDIT: Apparently to fix this you load multiplayer then quit out of it but sometimes when you reload your save game youve lost all money and ghost records etc Edited June 26, 2009 by Happenstance
Ike Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 How do you capture ghosts using the Stasis Stream, I can't seem to get it to work?
Ike Posted June 28, 2009 Posted June 28, 2009 How do you capture ghosts using the Stasis Stream, I can't seem to get it to work? Ah nm I did it. I finally completed the game the game today, I need to go back and collect the rest of the scans and artefacts. A couple of problems I had with the game was the voices volume was too low and I couldn't hear what they they were saying most of the time, though I sorted that problem by turning on the subtitles. My second problem was that the game was too dark most of the time and I couldn't see a thing, I hate it when that happens. Another pretty minor problem was lack of the Ghostbusters theme, it only played during the loading screens and very quickly during the end. Overall though, it was a great game for Ghostbusters fans, it really captured the feeling of the movies and made you feel like a Ghostbuster. I've played some of the older Ghostbusters games but I felt they didn't capture the same feeling.

I've played some of the older Ghostbusters games but I felt they didn't capture the same feeling. Have to say don't agree with that, the loading screens have been enough to make me quite sick of the theme song for the foreseeable future...I much preferred all the other audio cues and little bits of music from the films. Just finished it myself...for me this was a fanboys wet dream, I love Ghostbusters and this game certainly didn't disappoint. One thing I did however feel was that for the large chunks of the game it just felt like every other shooters as the number of ghosts who needed catching diminished, you can't beat the experience of chucking out a trap and slamming a ghost straight into it. Hmmm wonder if the voice over during the final credits perhaps leads the way for a stand alone sequel or perhaps some add on DLC? Not sure it would work without the Ghostbusters themselves.
Chuck Posted June 29, 2009 Posted June 29, 2009 I started on experienced and now I'm stuck on the bit where the little puft minions come through the vents in that building.
Ike Posted July 1, 2009 Posted July 1, 2009 If I want to unlock the achievement for completing the game on the highest difficulty, do I have to start a new career or can I just replay them from the replay mission option?
Hero-of-Time Posted July 1, 2009 Author Posted July 1, 2009 You can just do replay chapter or if you wanna be cheap like me you can do the glitch Replay the first section of the first chapter which is the training and play up until where you get to the hotel and then quit back to main menu. Then load up the boss fight for every chapter after that and you should get the achievement/trophy. Make sure after the boss fight you let the next chapter load, do whatever you have to do at the firehouse and go to the next desitination before quiting back to the main menu and going to the boss. This method has worked for most people but not for a few. You could just play it properly though.
flameboy Posted July 4, 2009 Posted July 4, 2009 http://www.psu.com/DLC-coming-to-LittleBigPlanet-News--a007695-p0.php this year just got even better for ghostbusters fans if this is true... teaser image;
Cube Posted July 18, 2009 Posted July 18, 2009 (edited) I'm completely lost. What am I supposed to do in the library when you first meet the ghost librarian. (after the book ghost)? Edit: Nevermind, it was just glitched. Stupid demo. Edited July 19, 2009 by Cube
Jimbob Posted July 19, 2009 Posted July 19, 2009 I'm completely lost. What am I supposed to do in the library when you first meet the ghost librarian. (after the book ghost)? Edit: Nevermind, it was just glitched. Stupid demo. I'm on that level right now. I would have beaten this game ages ago but have a ton of other titles to complete. Tis a great game.
Ike Posted July 20, 2009 Posted July 20, 2009 Just beat the game on professional (I did all of it, not just doing the first and last chapter of each level :P). Bit annoying how every attack becomes either a 2HKO or 1HKO and then all the other Ghostbusters die while your waiting for them to revive you.

What i found a tad annoying is when you are attacking creatures, one or two of the busters goes down and as you go to rescue them you get overwhelmed and its "Mission Failed"
Helmsly Posted September 10, 2009 Posted September 10, 2009 I know a lot of you imported the US version of the game for the 360 or brought the PS3 version already , but I figured I'd post this here anyway: Thanks to a messy, silly publishing deal between Atari and Sony, Ghostbusters is only out in PAL territories on PS3 and PS2. All other versions have had to wait. And now, will be waiting even longer. The 360, PC, DS and Wii versions were supposed to be out in October, but now won't be out until November 6. No reason was given for the extended delay. http://kotaku.com/5356243/european-ghostbusters-release-slips-again
