Shorty Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 I did that bbc test, I'm not even vaguely synaesthetic
Cube Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 What about my colour? Just thinking a bout something. As I'm partially colourblind, wouldn't that mean that I wouldn't even know if I was Synaesthetic?
Letty Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 What about my colour? Just thinking a bout something. As I'm partially colourblind, wouldn't that mean that I wouldn't even know if I was Synaesthetic? cube, your clear to me. as in the colour of seethrough, If you know what I mean
gaggle64 Posted December 3, 2006 Posted December 3, 2006 How do you experience colours generated by names and other stimuli? Do you actually see it in some way, as if it were in front of your eyes, or is it just a connection that is made inside your brain which generates a response on some level?

If you think about cheese you know it's yellow... if I think about Monday I know it's blue.

Supergrunch Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I wanted to refrain, but I can't take it any longer! ... What colour do you guys see me as? Dark red. (10 characters)
Rummy Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Why did your last two posts say 10 characters at the end of them?
Supergrunch Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Why did your last two posts say 10 characters at the end of them? Messages have to be at least 10 characters long or the forum won't let you post them.
Rummy Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Ohhh, I didn't know that. I suppose thats my something new learnt for today then!
Fields Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 Hmm, I associate individual letters and numbers with specific colours, but not words. Rather, I experience 'dark' words and 'light' words, some more strongly than others.
DCK Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I have it too, I just don't imagine colors with individual numbers and letter as most synaesthetics do, but I assign colors to combinations, like words, sentences, multiple digit numbers and songs. Mcj, you're dark purple to me Fields is this yellow/green blend, Rummy is soft red, and I find Supergrunch to be a light blue.
Rummy Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 How old were you guys when you found out about synesthesia, and that not everyone thinks like it? Also, would any of you describe yourself as a bit anally retentive? I dunno why, but it's the sort of thing I'd associate with it for some reason.
