  1. Yep Wii is ahead of the 360 now in the UK, not actually sure when it happened. Those figures from MCV are from two weeks ago, no idea why they're reporting it as being last week.
  2. Mario and Sonic number 1 again this week, amazing scenes! Really really pleased about that, just one more week and my £10 bet will give me a very welcome Christmas bonus!
  3. My day was pretty good. Did an 8-6 at work so I can work short days for the rest of the week. Had some interesting bits to work on today as well which was nice. Then I came home and tidied the flat for a while. A very productive day, I've even been eating well. I did have to wait ages for the tube though, I didn't enjoy that. Still, bodes well for the last week of work I think.
  4. Both of the Ray races I found incredibly easy and did first time with a lot of time to spare. I really don't see why people have been having so much difficulty with them.
  5. Different methods of stealing, but stealing none-the-less. Well most pre-owned games have come from trade-ins that allowed someone to buy a different game that they otherwise wouldn't have. Which is money in the pockets of publishers for a legal product. Its still contributing to the industry, unlike piracy.
  6. Completely different in peoples modern warped sense of ownership. Taking a car and downloading a copy of a game are still both theft. Just because one is easier for people to live with doesn't make it any different.
  7. Different product, different production methods, same crime.
  8. Its not really a valid excuse for it though. I can't steal a nice car and get away with it under the argument "Well sorry but I wasn't going to buy it legally so its not really theft". At the end of the day publishers would make more money if the only way to obtain a game was through legal channels, piracy does effect the industry and you can't argue that certain parts of it are ok.
  9. Its off for its Christmas break now. Think its 2 weeks? Might be 3 though.
  10. Ah that could well be it, it hadn't been on in a while and I'm sure its different to how it was originally. I'll have a play with the settings but if they altered it with firmware then that could well be it. Oh well!
  11. Oh absolutely, but Nintendo are really failing to meet any demand at the moment. Wii's, DS, the zapper, games - they need to get more out there. I would have thought Lucasarts have put all of their production allocation into Lego Star Wars, its not sold massive numbers and yet its still sold out practically everywhere. Its the same for all publishers and effects sales of everything non-nintendo. If its not sorted out soon then the Wii becomes a less viable platform to develop and publish on if your game is going to be unavailable.
  12. Its not a very good situation at all really, nintendo really need to sort out there production soon or this will become more and more common. Its something that will probably happen with a few more titles yet before Christmas. Hopefully it won't be so bad once the Christmas rush is over.
  13. My day yesterday was not too bad at all. My boss gave me a free copy of Cooking Mama with Spatula and Pan attachments as he doesn't have a Wii and then we had the office Christmas party. I chatted with various hot office girls, got drunk and then walked home in a state. Good times.
  14. I have to say this year has been very good. A brief summary of some of the things I've done: Graduated from Uni Got to the finals of the West Midlands business awards Moved to London Got a great job I think those are all the key things, the things behind them have taken up a lot (most) of my time this year. Best thing is I've enjoyed pretty much the whole of the year, not ever felt down inthe dumps. If 2008 is this good I'll be very happy indeed!
  15. People go to uni to study? Woah! Anyway, in my time I had a few annoying housemates but nothing too major. If talking to them about such matters doesn't work then you just have to prevent them from creating such mess in the first place. Keep all the clean plates locked away so if they want to eat they have to clean up their old crap first. Its petty and requires some effort but it will force them to do a bit of cleaning up and ensure you have some clean plates to eat off. I have to say its one of the few things I do not miss about uni at all.
  16. Not going to happen, certainly not in the near to mid future anyway.
  17. Great performance indeed, its now sold more than Mario Galaxy overall in the UK. Very good stuff indeed. Not sure how well it will do next week though, don't think theres much stock left of the game now.
  18. Thats great news! Looking forward to seeing the figures behind this tomorrow. Doubtful M&S will be Christmas No. 1 though. The Christmas Chart, and hence Christmas number 1 isn't being announced until after Christmas.
  19. I like the idea of the Zapper but I'm not sure its quite right. I'm still not really sure how to hold it. I want to pull the trigger with my right hand but holding it so that my right hand is in the right place doesn't feel right. Yes thats a lot of Right's! I'm not sure if I can change which button does what in the options? I do prefer plaing with the Zapper though, when a few more games come out that are designed to use it I reckon it'll be a pretty damn good peripheral actually.
  20. I've just done the 100 purple coins on Dreadnought Galaxy. Must have taken me at least 20 goes but not one time did I feel cheated out of it. The music, various bits of skill, teeny bit of luck landing right - its an absolutely fantastic level. I never thought I'd say this about one of the coin collecting levels but for pure outright gameplay experiences I think this could be the best level I've played in a game - Ever.
  21. I saw The Golden Compass last night through work and boy am I glad I didn't pay money for it. Quite possibly one of the worst films I have seen in years. I've never read the books and judging from what people on here are saying its really strayed from them. I had no emotional attachment to the characters, the setup is basically "heres some people, now watch them adventure to the North". Why? Whats so special about them? Why on earth do they all have animal friends? Why does this girl have the compass and not someone a bit more prepared for it? It just doesn't make sense and like others have said feels rushed where a bit of building for half an hour could have worked wonders. Other ridiculous things. To go North you'll need a bear. Ok fine there happens to be one down this street. I'm a bear and I won't go with you unless I have armour. OK fine theres some right here in this building. What? None of this is hard at all, the whole adventure is going to be a piece of cake. Meh, anyway, the film doesn't really have an ending. Its just kind of stopped half way through. Why haven't we gone to find the girls uncle/dad? Its just strange. Not good at all, in the slightest. I hope they don't do anymore. As a non-fan I wouldn't want to see it and from the sounds of things it will only annoy the people that do! 3/10 as some of the effects are quite nice.
  22. Those Smart Roadsters are pretty cheap, well, they're expensive for what you get but 2nd hand they don't set you back too much. I'm currently only using my car once every couple of weeks, almost certainly getting close to selling it and buying something I can just have for fun. I really don't need the practicalness of it at all.
  23. It does look quite good but I don't think things ike the 100m will be any fun at all when actually playing. You may as well just scribble as fast as you can on a piece of paper. Will reserve judgement until I have a copy though. I'm pretty sure there's no connectivity between the two versions - could be mistaken though.
  24. Ah I didn't know that, glad I got mine at launch then. I never know what the hell I'm meant to do with cardboard sleeved games. They usually end up getting lost or packed away with some other rubbish.
  25. Has anything come in a cardboard sleeve in the past? Everything I have is in a standard Wii box.
