Disappointing, but not surprising. It's exactly like Tri on Wii.
-
Yup. Does exactly what you'd expect it to (command the OS, do searches via voice etc)
-
So more or less like the current 360

Oh feck. Looks like Rayman Legends has been delayed... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=512140 It's missing from Ubisoft's Jan-March schedule. Oh boy... that's the last thing Nintendo needs right now...

Yeah, PS Plus is a good service in general; especially if you're new to the console! If you're halfway interested in the games on offer, there's no reason to hesitate really. The games you get for free are yours to play whenever your subscription is active (so if you unsubscribe and then decide to re-subscribe later on, the stuff you had previously downloaded while you were subscribed the first time will be yours again for free!) Games you buy for a discounted price via PS Plus however, are yours to keep forever - even if you unsubscribe completely.

Well supposedly a new Sonic game is due to be announced this month...
-
Better yet, I've got two weeks off in March! Just in time for all that 3DS gaming goodness to come flooding in
-
On the other hand though, trade-ins of used games fund a huge part of the new game sales market in the first place... If you take that away, you'll see a drop in sales of new games and even quicker price drops than what we're currently seeing. But either way, I think that there's only two possible scenarios at play here. Either MS and Sony will collude and both implement similar systems in a (secret) mutual agreement, or neither one will do it. Going it alone would be ceding the market to the other competitor. The entire blockbuster gaming model hinges on a "game of the month" mentality. If people can't trade their old tat in for the new hotness, they'll just stick to buying a couple of tentpole releases and that's it. The market will collapse for sure.

Your Wii U collection: Past, present & future.
Dcubed replied to RedShell's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm just not really a fan of the Lego series' gameplay, nor do I like GTA. Combine the two together and... ehh... yeah... I do like the style though, that I'll give it. I'm sure it'll be funny at least! -
And so they shouldn't like it. It would completely destroy them if it came to fruition. If I were Gamestop (or any retail gaming store), I'd be voicing my dissatisfaction with MS and threatening to pull support for the Xbox consoles in favour of Nintendo and Sony (assuming that the latter is not intending to follow suit)

Here's my lot. Sold/Traded N/A Discs Nintendo Land New Super Mario Bros U Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed ZombiU eShop Nano Assault Neo Little Inferno Chasing Aurora Nintendo Land (got via a cheap download code and no, I'm not getting rid of my disc copy. I like having it in my physical collection too) Virtual Console None unless they sort out the whole 60hz issue. All of my current VC games happily reside on my US region Wii in glorious 480p/60hz To Buy List Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Every single upcoming Nintendo published title (with the sole exception of Lego City Undercover) Toki Tori 2 The Pinball Arcade Wii U (I'd rather have it on 3DS but eh, what can you do?) Bit Trip Runner 2 Resident Evil Revelations Wii U (may wait for a price drop on it though - or may sit it out all-together depending on whether or not they properly replicate the touch screen stuff on the Gamepad and how much extra content they've added to Raid Mode) -
The Third Console Curse looks to be striking once again. Pride always comes before a fall and every failed 3rd console has at least one key catastrophic mistake attached to it...

Holy cow! I've been posting here since I was 14!? Where does the time go!?
-
How do you check how long you've been here for? I know that I was around in the Cube Europe days, but the site only lists the date when I "rejoined" it as N-Europe

What games does he have? All (3) of them :p

Just for PSN stuff.

Just started a new game on Hell mode this time (haven't played it since not long after it came out) and I'm really enjoying it once again Funny really. I recently replayed Bioshock again and it's nowhere near as good as I remembered it, but Revelations holds up really nicely. It's just plain fun to play, even if it's not quite as close to the feel of the pre-RE4 titles as I had hoped. It's also a game that truly feels taylor made to the 3DS. It just feels right playing this in bed with the lights off and headphones on! Can't imagine myself enjoying it as much on a console, even the Wii U one. The episodic format and the reletively short "stages" fit the handheld experience (and my work commute) like a glove!
-
At this point, the game is just outright cursed
-
Hmm... he doesn't actually mention that the Gamepad only play eschews the gyro controls... In the E3 demo, the left stick controlled movement, while the right stick controlled the camera, with the cursor being motion controlled. I really hope that the game hasn't been dumbed down or compromised in any way, in order to be made playable off-TV...
-
Have you actually seen Game & Wario? It's nothing like the Wario Ware games. All of the games utilise the two screens for asymmetric play (though it does include a mode where you play Microgames on the Gamepad under your bed covers, while you have to watch out on the TV for your mum checking if you're sleeping!) The Wonderful 101 also has plenty of parts in the game where you go inside buildings and the Gamepad display changes to show what's inside - Four Swords Adventures style! (while the TV shows your normal point of view)
-
Don't forget The Wonderful 101 and Game & Wario as well! Wii Party U will almost certainly join the list as well...
-
It depends on the game really. If it's a remake, a port or an exclusive game that really has no need for asymmetric play or motion controls and hasn't been designed around them (like say, a Rhythm Heaven game or a traditional Punchout Game), then I would absolutely expect Off-TV Play and I would condemn any game like this that eschews the option (I'm looking at you The Cave!). Otherwise, if it is being designed around asymmetric play, Wii Remote/ Remote & Chuck controls or a combination of Wii Remotes/Gamepad/Balance Board controls, I don't want to see the game being compromised to allow for Off-TV play.

Will Mario 'Universe' use Asymmetric Gameplay?
Dcubed replied to Retro_Link's topic in Nintendo Gaming
It's a fairly rote feature though that doesn't add anything to the actual gameplay of a game, just another way of playing an otherwise standard game. If your game includes Off-TV Play, then it cannot use the asymmetrical displays at a core, fundamental gameplay level because it needs to be playable on one screen. A lot of us are more interested in seeing how the Wii U can generate all new types of games, like Nintendo Land and ZombiU. We want to see Nintendo break new ground and make a Mario game that could only be made on Wii U, with the two asymmetrical displays! -

WOAH! Ni-No-Kuni at No1!? No way! Granted, the actual numbers are probably still very low, but just wow! It's amazing to look at!
