  1. Yeah I'm really looking forward to that one! Looks utterly bonkers!
  2. It's utterly criminal that that game isn't on Wii U! They could even have a mode where a 5th player acts as a dungeonmaster and spawns enemies/activates traps etc to try and kill the other players!
  3. I didn't mind the addition of Casual Mode in Awakening, because the game was still designed around perma-death being turned on. I take other issues with it (like the lack of varying objectives for instance and allowing the player to grind to the extreme), but the addition of Casual Mode itself was handled just fine. IS actually did a really good job of catering to longtime fans as well as newcomers with Awakening. Likewise, Phoenix Mode seems to be much the same here. It's basically the equivalent of Super Guide or Very Easy Automatic Mode in Bayonetta; where it's just an optional crutch for less skilled players to take advantage of. As long as the game isn't designed around having it on, then it's fine. Petting though? No siree I do not like it... It's funny, but mostly creepy and smacks of otaku pandering...
  4. Excitebike Arena is basically gonna be decided in a matter of seconds without items or coins Ahh well, I'm IN this week.
  5. Well I suppose the thread title needs a name change now :p
  6. Nice to see some localisation confirmations Shame that Bravely Second is a 2016 game though... (Unless they pull another BD in Europe of course )
  7. Ahh... Well if it's only rumoured to be a possibility, then there's a decent chance that the whole thing is bunk since Nikkei's source are effectively hedging their bets here. Though it's not an absurd possibility. If they did go down this road, I do think it would be via the method that I outlined.
  8. Yup. This part is a big red flag for me. To me it seems that they're looking to become more self sufficient, rather than anything else. But leaving a part of the system there to run Android seems like a viable way of tapping into the vast array of 3rd party games without having to compromise on their own games. Even if it is an expensive way of going about things in terms of hardware cost...
  9. Big Brain Academy DS this week. Interestingly enough, it's £6.29 instead of £8.99, so it seems that the games that were originally released at budget price on Wii/DS will also be re-released at a lower price than the standard
  10. While Nikkei have been wrong before, I can see this NX handheld making use of Android. Perhaps they might be running two separate OS', not unlike what MS do on Xbox One, with Android running in a virtual sandbox (or on a seperate CPU maybe) and Nintendo's own games running separate from everything else. That would be one way of getting around the piracy issue at least; so that if the Android part gets hacked into, Nintendo's own games would still be safe. No way would they use it as their "main" OS though. Performance is poor, the security is terrible and it's riddled with all sorts of issues (like an inherent audio delay of about 100-200ms for starters...)
  11. Wii games on the eShop are completely identical to their disc counterparts. The only difference is that they feature heavily reduced loading times (by virtue of hard drives being much faster than the Wii discs when it comes to loading) and that games that originally supported the Classic Controller are playable Off TV via the Gamepad's buttons/sticks. So they are completely untouched. They are literally Wii games made available as downloads, running in Wii mode.
  12. TRAUMA TEAM!? HOLY SHIT!! PLEASE RELEASE IT IN EUROPE!!! I already have the U.S. Version on disc but I SO want it to finally get an EU release!!! You guys NEED to play it, it's AMAZING!! There's a very good reason why I put it in my Top 10 Wii Games list! Also finally paves the way for 3rd party Wii re-releases on Wii U! Now how's about getting RE4 Wii out for download already so that I can play it Off TV!
  13. - All 721 Pokemon are in!!! - 20 Pokemon to choose from the start. - Text speed does not look excruciatingly slow - Wailord in your party looks hilarious Game looks THE TITS!!!
  14. Yeah, it's got a nice B-tier vibe to it that I actually quite like. Sort of rough and ready
  15. So... This game has an Animal Crossing style mode where you can build your own town and a Pokemon Amie ripoff mode where you can pet your Waifu/Husbando with the touch screen... ... yeah... IS are in full-on pandering mode lol! It's actually pretty gross to see them go down this road with Fire Emblem... ... this used to be a respectful series...

    Dr. Mario

Like the look of the items and new game mechanics. Looks more substantial than Dr Luigi was.
  17. Looks decent, shows more promise than the last game did at least. Golf looks like it could be pretty fleshed out and blatant reskined Miku Project Mirai mode is blatant
  18. Graphics are crap, but it looks like it could be decent hack & slash fun! We'll see...
  19. Looks fun! Makes me think of Castlevania 4!
  20. This is such a confusing spinoff! So it's basically like a Best-Of Monster Hunter with a faster and flashier combat system in place of the traditional one? ... Erm... Ok?
  21. That was a really surprisingly substantial Direct! Especially considering how close they are to E3! Makes you wonder if they didn't just blow their load there and that E3 will be nothing but localisation announcements...
  22. Oh! You can annotate on the map? Nice! This is the kind of game where that little feature would come in very handy
  23. In all likelihood, Monolith Soft probably are helping to develop Zelda Wii U. They did co-develop Skyward Sword and A Link Between Worlds after all (mostly asset/cutscene creation).
  24. He doesn't like shooters at all. For him to actually enjoy Splatoon is a BIG deal! Same with me, but to a lesser extent. There aren't many shooters that I do like (basically just the classics like Doom, Quake, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye or Timesplitters), but Splatoon is definately one of them! Also this year has had Captain Toad, Majora's Mask 3D, MH4U, Xenoblade 3D, Codename S.T.E.A.M, Shantae & The Pirate's Curse, Affordable Space Adventures, Kirby & The Rainbow Curse and P&DZ as major titles on Nintendo platforms alone this year alongside MP10, so there's some pretty decent competition here.
  25. Good thing that the Inkling Girl is way cooler than the Boy! That's insane!
