Demo is great fun! Game is ripe for dumbness and Four Swords style griefing too Grabbing one player and then tossing them back and forth between the other two (where they are comically helpless) is a great laugh
-
Same. Though mind you, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash is in the same boat. We've seen absolutely nothing about it outside of the really basic E3 demo... It's terrible! Their marketing efforts this year have sucked hard outside of Splatoon and Happy Home Designer!!
-
I told you before, we're probably not gonna get another one till at least next year. It's still too soon since Iwata's passing; takes time to arrange this stuff after everything's been thrown out of whack.

What a sad and miserable way to announce the date! I miss Nintendo Directs badly Still, that was unexpected as hell! Awesome! 3DS needed a heavy hitter for Xmas in Europe so badly!

Listings were discovered for Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Other M and Skyward Sword as well (presumably as Wii downloads). I still think that TP HD is some sort of mistake/test/typo/whatever. Doesn't make sense to me to have a HD Remaster of TP and not Skyward Sword as well. Also it doesn't really make sense from the standpoint of past Zelda remakes either. With previous remakes in the Zelda series, they specifically wanted to make them so that they could go back and make certain changes to things that the designers had regrets over. With Link's Awakening DX, it was colour. With OoT 3D, it was the Water Temple. With MM 3D, it was the lack of signposting and hints (as well as some of the bosses) and with Wind Waker HD, it was the Triforce Shard hunt and the sailing speed (ALTTP was a port, rather than a remake, and was packaged in alongside a brand new game so that doesn't count). What big regret have the designers at Nintendo publically stated that they had about Twilight Princess? There isn't one (outside of the lack of orchestrated music, but that's hardly a reason for them to revisit the game really). Perhaps a point could be made about there being a lack of a "definitive" version by virtue of the Wii version not including the option for traditional controls, but that's a pretty flimsy reason to justify the expense of a remake/remaster really when they could just re-release both in their original form and be done with it. It's not like them to pump out outsourced re-releases at retail with boosted visual fidelity and nothing else. If they were going to do that to pad out the Wii U's release schedule, they would've already done that with the likes of Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 (which they have instead already re-released in their original form as Wii downloads in various regions).

Yup. The multiplayer music is way better! But I'd say that Sonic 3 & Knuckles is pretty much perfect. About the only things I can say that are bad about it is the fact that the VS multiplayer is a bit dumbed down in comparison to Sonic 2's and that it has this little bastard standing in your way... Other than that, it's more or less a perfect game
-
Of course it's a re-release of the Wii version. Why wouldn't it be? GCN games aren't available on the Wii U (though this would be a nice one to kick things off - especially if we got both versions together for the one price... Hint hint Nintendo )

Feeling that itch for arcade gaming again and Mushihimesama isn't out on Steam yet, so... I splurged on another set of weird obscure Japanese arcade gems from the JPN Wii VC! My haul includes... Splatterhouse Arcade Rompers Marvel Land Cyber Sled Tank Force Libble Rabble Ordyne Magical Drop 3 (I already have the English version, but the Japanese version has some substantial differences and since I'm nuts for anything Magical Drop, I had to have it!) And while not actually arcade games, just cause I could (plus I'm fed up of waiting for them to never come out over here on Wii U) Kirby's Super Star Stacker (The SNES version of Kirby's Star Stacker - the one and only Kirby related game to never come out outside Japan) Famicom Wars Super Famicom Wars The latter two are gonna be tough to get through, knowing zero Japanese myself, but I know enough about the Wars games that I think I can blag my way through with a basic menu guide! And with that, I think that's the Japanese Wii Shop cleaned out of everything I want from it now. Everything else is either locked behind too large a language barrier or will probably come out in the west on Wii U before long

They actually mention this in one of the M2 interviews. They picked them because M2 had already done a big chunk of the work when they re-released them on PS2 in Japan as part of their SEGA AGES collections. They were already familiar with them (plus the System 16 version of Fantasy Zone 2 was actually developed from scratch by M2 originally, so you know, it's a point of pride for them. It's their own game they they were remastering ) They picked the MD version because the arcade version had little to no parallax scrolling, making a 3D remaster pointless. Agreed! Still so much more that could be done! Even from the list of Wii VC MD releases (which they obviously must have most of the rights to), there's so many other great potential choices like MUSHA, Alien Soldier and Ristar!

The Cheetos game? We can have that only after they release this...

You still need to finish that follow up letter BTW

It's true. He can. Not even Irish crisp manufacturers are safe from his wrath

Oh wow! I always wanted to try that game! I always regretted skipping out on it as a kid, never thought it would ever get a VC release (what with Konami's general stupidity these days) Will cop that one for sure! I assume you meant to say SNES but no. This is Pocky & Rocky 3. The SNES had two Pocky & Rocky games (1 & 2) and this is a GBA exclusive sequel that never originally got an EU release.

http://nintendoeverything.com/zelda-tri-force-heroes-has-a-special-costume-that-can-only-be-obtained-through-local-multiplayer/ Ha ha! There's a special costume that can only be unlocked if you play with other players via Local or Download Play (not online). That's clever. Good way to encourage players to gather together

Cheers! Glad you like em' : peace: TBH, I don't expect anyone to ever find The Secret World legitimately. It's there for like maybe the one person in the world who ever finds it :p BTW, finally got round to playing your new levels. Love em'! I never even thought to use the "Correct" sound as a door bell, now I can't unhear it

Still shocking that PS1 and PS2 games aren't available on PS4 at all! Screw PS Now Sony, get those classics on there 'cause until you do, I am not even considering a PS4 purchase at all!
-
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me at all. They dumped the 3DS VC completely over a year ago (even in Japan!) and never looked back. Makes sense if you consider that the NX is supposed to be based on Wii U hardware. Means that all the effort going into the Wii U VC is going to end up paying dividends in the future, while efforts spent on 3DS would just be a waste.
-
Well that's certainly affordable Game must've done pretty well for them to keep adding to it (and rightly so! It's a great game that makes great use of the Gamepad )
-
Hey @RedShell! I noticed on Miiverse that you played through all my new levels! Did you manage to find most of the 1ups? (I'm surprised that you seemed to find so many secrets! You even found the secret Fire Flower on W2-1 that lets you break the level! : peace:), did you find any of the secret True Speedrunner's Paths? Did you find The Secret World? Either way, I'm glad you seemed to enjoy them! : peace: What was your favourite level?

Not really Wii U related (can't think of anywhere really better to put it), but there's a really interesting interview with the former head of HAL America about Iwata's early years as a programmer that's probably largely gonna go under the media radar... http://gamasutra.com/view/news/254169/A_former_mentor_recalls_the_early_career_of_Satoru_Iwata.php Check it out! Goes over some really old history about the pre-NES days and the failed Atari distribution deal!

Pocky & Rocky With Becky is good fun! Never played the GBA game before and I don't see why it gets such a bad rap. Sure it's not as complex as the SNES games, but it's still a good game in its own right and the simplicity is nice if you just want to blast through it (not that it's easy!) Recommended if you want some good quirky arcade style fun (also the first time it has ever gotten a release in Europe )
-
Still got mine #smug :awesome: Still got my Pokewalker too #extrasmug :awesome: Still got my Pocket Pikachu even! #extrasupersmug :awesome: Haven't played Wii Fit U in a while though so I'm probably a fat slob now #notsosmug

Oh about damn time! So who does that leave left to go now that we know about?

Nope, meant to say Mario Golf 64 :p Mario 64 has always been the US 60hz version in Europe on Wii U. I was just a numpty
