Dcubed replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
http://n-europe.com/news/resident-evil-revelations-1-2-switch-to-include-motion-controls-and-hd-rumble-support Wahey! RE4 Wii style aiming is in! Eat your Murkrow @Glen-i! HD Rumble support being in too is nice -
End of an era. Godspeed my friend! No pressure @Glen-i! Now you have to make each week extra funny to make up for our loss here.

Oh dear... http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2017/09/pokemon_boss_didnt_think_switch_would_be_a_success_in_the_age_of_the_smartphone I guess me and @Glen-i were right in saying that TPC were (very likely) planning on going full mobile with the mainline series, at least before the Switch blew up; terrifying to think about. Also worrying to think that TPC's strategy isn't congruent with Nintendo's even now, as well as the fact that this guy still doubts the Switch in the long term... With people like him at the head of TPC, I don't feel comfortable with the direction the brand is taking...

https://www.nintendo.com/super-nes-classic/interview-star-fox-2/ Woohoo! Nintendo translated that new Starfox 1&2 interview into English!! (only part 1 is out, no doubt part 2 will be coming soon though)

Glad I held off on buying it! Will gladly cop the Gold Edition on Steam when it hits

Nintendo also spoilt SM3DW's Rosalina unlock after you finish the game as well, in the middle of a Nintendo Direct even; which was totally not cool. Otherwise, they haven't really done any egregious spoiling recently have they? Not counting Pokemon S/M obviously, since TPC just do whatever they want (and ironically, they've now gone in the opposite direction with US/UM )

Definitely not! I can't wait for it! I loved the demo to bits! It definitely feels like a cut above all of the other 3DS RPGs out there and I reckon has the potential to be something really special. Outside of the Dragon Quests, all of the other traditional styled (i.e, non strategy RPGs and non Mario RPGs) on 3DS have left me feeling a bit cold, but this one just seems to hit all the right notes for me! Even looking at it as an RPG in its own right and not as a Monster Hunter game, it really looks to be a great one! Yeah, for sure. I'd even say that 2017 has actually been better than 2016 for 3DS! Couldn't really ask for a better sendoff really!

They look OK... Not as good as Shovel Knight himself though (and King Knight ironically looks kinda cheap... Which is actually pretty funny, so it wraps around and becomes ironically good). Still want 'em though.

Retro Gamer is published nationwide, so any good book or magazine store really (I know that WH Smiths stock it).

My first experience with this game was with All Stars on the SNES. Though I actually prefer the NES version (which I didn't get to play properly until I got it on GBA), it absolutely captivated me as a kid, every bit as much as Super Mario World. Like Shorty pointed out, the unforgiving difficulty of it was part of that as well. Though I had already cut my teeth on SMW and other games by that point, SMB was pretty damn punishing as a kid and as such, it was a war of attrition to build up my skills and "git gud" enough to push myself forward from world to world and take the fight to the real King Koopa. The music, the sights, the tough but fair difficulty and the pixel perfect controls all served to make me a lifelong fan! I can't even begin to imagine how utterly mindblowing it must've been to lay eyes on the original SMB back in 1985, coming off the likes of the Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum and the Commodore 64!

Holy crap!!! That's amazing!! What an awesome way to celebrate the SNES Mini launch! How surreal is that to see Star Fox 2 on the cover and all!? And what better place for an actual review of an actual new SNES game? I love how it's just a direct continuation and all, like nothing happened in-between! Fits in seamlessly! Defo nabbing that for sure!

Oh bloody hell! It's about damn time! Looking forward to this one

Holy crap! @S.C.G actually made it IN! on time! What kind of bizzaro world have I fallen into!?

Gotta admit, that's a cool way of recapturing their unique characteristics from G/S/C. Pretty timely too. Good job Niantic!

An online manual for Starfox 2 has just been posted... well... online! https://www.nintendo.co.jp/clvs/manuals/starfox2/html/USen/index.html Also comes with various original design documents, unaltered, that were written partway through its original development! Plus an interview with some of the original SF2 staff! (Japanese only for now sadly... Hopefully they release an English translation!) https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/c/article/9214cd6a-758b-11e7-8cda-063b7ac45a6d.html

I would. The Wii and DS' online play servers lasted for 10 years and they only closed because Gamespy (the company that ran Nintendo WFC) was shut down itself. Splatnet 1 closing is not a surprise though. All of Nintendo's companion services tend to shut down after around 2-3 years of running, but the games themselves remain online for many more years after (Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon's Meowth Theatre service is also closing BTW).

On that topic... Christian Whitehead actually has some involvement in Freedom Planet 2! (as a Unity engine programmer on the game); so that should instantly spark your interest in the sequel

Nintendo have more of an incentive to get behind these devs than Sony because it's all they have (and is probably all they're gonna get). They actually have been very supportive before in a more quiet fashion, but it seems like only now they're starting to actually moneyhat exclusives. Makes sense with the situation they're in, but I wonder how long it'll continue...

Sounds like NMH3 to me. Also sounds like the Nindie games that will feature in it will just take the place of the minigame jobs from the first two games. Also, there's a chance that they'll just add a number to the title later on. NMH2 was originally just titled No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle (and everyone thought that it meant that it would be a DS game when we first heard the name), until at some point where they added the number 2 to the title.
