I get the same thing if i plug my monitor in to the VGA port on my motherboard rather than the one on the graphics card. It could be that?

Want a wireless adaptor for £40? Doubt i'll have any use for it by this time next week
-
Yeah, i was just making a note before i start getting PMs, emails and MSN messages from certain members asking me to infract you for illegal discussion. Yes, some people are sad enough to harass me over such things (i name no names though)

It's basically the consumer version of PLC, it's been simplified so anyone can use it. Basically you buy 2 adaptors, one goes in one power socket, the other goes in another one and they create a wired network between them. You can get a basic kit for around £50, and then each extra device is about another £25. They used to be really expensive, but now you can even get a pair of 200Mbps units for £90. Buying a couple myself next week, perfect for streaming HD Video from my PC to the TV in the living room!

Well it's not really pirated. You pay for the license rather than the software and as you're still using the same license it is technically the same copy. Bit of a legal grey area tbh...
-
HomePlug, will cost you about the same as the wireless adaptor but it's much more reliable.

Depends how weak, but yeah it should still be faster. The problem is stability. Wireless networks don't really drop in speed, they drop in stability. The further you are from the wireless source the more pieces of information miss or are absorbed by walls, radiators, cabling etc. With real-time applications like movies, games, music etc. this is a large problem. You can't just resend data, because then it arrives late and in the wrong order. This is what causes lag spikes in games, and is also why wireless connections struggle to support video streaming. The problem with Xbox Live is that it's dependant on every player in the game. If one person is having issues then everyone suffers...

Wow! You can read the future? You know that all the flaws in wireless technology will be fixed and that no alternative solutions will arise? Thats amazing Hellfire! Everyone bowdown to god! Seriously though, the demands on networks are increasing faster than the speed and reliability of wireless networks. The development cycle of new wireless technologies is just way too long! If the cycle doesn't speed up then Wireless might well get left behind as a flawed dream...

BMI calculators are pretty rubbish, i know one lad who has a BMI of 29, is 6'4" and weighs like 18 stone or something. He's fit as a fiddle, it's all muscle mass! Anyway, from memory i weigh 173 pounds and im 6' 1". That gives me 22.8! Gone up by 2 in the past 2 years, lets hope it's the gym and increased exercise rather than the beer :p

I bought one, i sold it during the post-launch games drought Now that theres games worth owning im interested in getting another one, just waiting for a Smash release date.

My ex girlfriend told me she loves me. GREAT. Does that make me want to get back with her? No. Does it make me feel bad for not wanting her back? Yes. Who wins? Her. Again. 6ft size 5? Im just messing, im sure you're not some sort of possessed evil thing... Of course they do. Im still here :p

I sliced a piece off my left middle finger at work on Monday evening! Bloody brilliant! Now i cant use a keyboard properly because it's too painful Ended up playing TF2 tonight with a dodgy combination of 360 gamepad + mouse. Trying to hold that bloody controller in one hand is not fun, gonna be like this for at least a week too

Im thinking about flogging my 360 too, not because of Live though. I hardly use it and im trying to save for a trip to China in the summer, so selling it would A) Generate more cash and B) Reduce the amount i spend on games. Looking ahead all i really want is Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur IV and Rock Band... NO. The tech is too unreliable, expensive and needs to be set up right to be effective. If you're a distance from the router and haven't installed access points/signal boosters or a better aerial you're pretty much screwed. Sure, it's good for web browsing, downloading etc. but for media and games it has a long way to go. HomePlug > Wireless

Downloadable content? Im pretty sure loads of people would pay extra for Megaman and other characters that aren't in.

Even the thing in thread is only updated every 15 mins (i think?) so theres no accurate way to tell. Vote: No

So you want to use you're N95 as a media server and the PC as the viewing platform? It's doable, easier on the 8GB N95 though (it's DLNA compliant, basically some extra streaming software). These guys will sort you out: allaboutsymbianforums.com Google turned up a few solutions too... BTW, it's down to Nokia or 3rd parties to release the software necessary to do this. The features are built in to Windows, they just have to be accessed.

Type, speed, use, quantity etc. And do you mean "cheap" as in Value RAM, or "cheap" as in a good deal for decent stuff?
