  1. The idea of manipulating your kid into a pointless subculture so you can allay your own insecurities is heinous. Having a set design for the shape of your childs life, is what's going to ruin it.
  2. Ah excellent. I don't think I'll be able to afford it straight away, but I'll definitely get it in early May when I get my finances in order. Need to check if there's any online play first though...
  3. Great stuff lads.
  4. When is it out? N-E meet Disgaea showdown?
  5. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome isn't funny guys. Actually, it's fucking hilare.
  6. I had a similar experience to you one time, but it turned out that it was the barmaid, and I totally went up to her and said "I barely know you, but I feel like I love you. Let me buy you nachos, or a corn dog, or something." True story.
  7. I'll be sure to pass on the message

  8. Two things I've learnt while playing Draw Something: 1. The human visual cortex has an amazing ability to attach meaning to the most abstract things. 2. People can't draw for shit.
  9. Thank you lovely people (apart from Ashley, the chafing buttcrinkle) : peace: 23 is unaccountably old, I still feel like a gnarly 18 year old =p. That's a little racist, you caustic twatpickle . He's just stating the blatantly obvious =p. See above . Love you too mayne .
  10. So a traditional Japanese grind fest with a story that would undoubtedly be shamed by the gnarliest furrie fanfic writer, in which you die a whole lot. Wow, sounds like a fucking bargain.
  11. Well yeah, that's the trade off for the elements I mentioned before: The sense of ownership of a character you get to develop, and the social elements that you only really get the most of if you play regularly with a crew of people you know well. I'd rather have something like DMC instead because I play games to escape from people
  12. I think he means finding out the particulars of the mechanics of each game as soon as it comes out just by observation and playing incessantly. Pokemon games have enough small elements and metrics that they interact to create something fairly complex, if you're disposed to want to understand it. I don't hang around primary school kids though, so I have no incentive to care
  13. I'm speaking solely in terms of the way they play: extremely watered down and largely tedius combat, and huge reliance on massive repetition of collect-10-of-this-or-that tasks.
  14. I haven't played Dear Esther yet, I was just commenting as a generality about the snootyness of designers like Johnathan Blow. I'll give Esther a go at some point, sound like my kinda thing.
  15. Tactics Ogre is has actually taken up an assload of my time. It's great.
  16. I'm still playing Tactics Ogre, which I bought full price on PSN, and which now has been reduced by 50%, pissing me off no end. No PSP game really has any business being sold for that much. Still, it's an interesting game in its own way, although there are little things here and there which make me just want to turn it off and play Advance Wars instead. It's rather slow paced, and tactical considerations can't take into account the movement and attack ranges of enemy units, which means you are really reacting to whatever they do rather than being able to pre-empt any of their prospective moves. The story is really rather good for a JRPG in all honesty, which I wasn't expecting. It's still full of all manner of ye olde world speak, but nothing that encroaches on being absolutely embarrassing tbh. Other than that, really looking forward to the Wipeout dlc.
  17. There was a really hot girl in the group I went to my mates gig with that I would have loved to get talking to, but being totally out of practice with, you know, making conversation with other human beings, I just stood there and stared while cultivating a massive boner and drinking far too much vodka. Eff emm ell.
  18. Nothing more badass than an entourage of suited internet nerds heading to the nearest arcade to lay the smackdown on the DDR machines
  19. You also led me to believe that you were pretty junky at Wipeout which turns out not to be the case as I often log on to "Daft has beaten you on Event blah blah," which is good/ bad because I'm really compulsive about perfecting my times. I'm in the top 100 for a whole bunch of events, and almost in there with the A+ class speed laps you unlock after beating the game. The game really should have its own thread.
  20. Looking good there Danny. I say we all don our suitage and pimp on down to the next N-E meet. Here's me one rockin one like a fly guy. Shit acts like a gravitational field as you can tell from my friends head...
  21. Happy couples give me diarrhoea.
  22. Never played the sequels, but I remember getting really bummed out with it because I kept having to go back to earlier levels again and again because, like, what I had was insufficient for a boss level that I just couldn't get past. It's been years since I played it so I don't remember specifics, but I was really into it for like 2/3 of the way through.
  23. It totally turns into a grind fest later on though.
  24. Just youtubed it. That ish is so Japanese it made me squinty. That was uncalled for, I apologise.
