  1. Are games on PSPlus for a designated time period only, or are they there indefinitely? Because I'd rather not have the stress of having to play the games in a set time frame, and also having the roster of games available decided for me. Defs looking into the Uncharted stuff. Should I bother with Drake's Fortune? I heard it kinda drags.
  2. PS3 just arrived today. Having that heady new console lust right now. Think I'm going to download Shadow of the Colossus. Already been bossing Wipeout HD and Pixeljunk Shooter. Lots of God of War on the way. Anything else I absolutely must order immediately? (Okami HD looks appealing...)
  3. I got all that shit right, largely because I'm a pedantic stickler. I actually had no idea that SATs had a spelling and grammar component previously, I thought there was just the comprehension and creative writing part of the English paper.
  4. Well, "pessimistic" would be a mild way to put the fact that your brain is going through physical and chemical changes that are extremely similar to drug withdrawal. It'll take a little while, you'll be fine. Talk to other people, make connections - knock the sepia tinge off those memories you've enshrined that tell you that she was "the one," because there is no such thing.
  5. I'm reserving judgement on SEGA until I see how they handle their newly acquired Company of Heroes license. Other than that they're a bit shit of late. Oh...the Total War games are great, but that's not really SEGA now is it?
  6. I went on a date yesterday. Well, it wasn't pre-determined as such, but it kind of was. Met up with the girl at the V&A and spent five whole hours wandering around South Kensington, just continuously talking. She's the sort of person that reminds you of all the things you used to love before you turned into a cynical asshole. This is in the bad stuff thread because I'm a cynical asshole
  7. Yeah, I haven't sat down to play the game compulsively. I pick it up every few days for a couple of hours, which I'm sure is the source of my frustration. Yes, Quelaag - I think I sort of combined Quelaag and Shelob because I'm a little tired of remembering the names of fantasy monsters
  8. If Bane doesn't make an appearance sometime soon, I'll be sorely disappointed.
  9. Shelaag. Thinking of going all the way back to Firelink Shrine, picking up some elemental powers, and then going down through New Londo Ruins. I've only got one transient curse though. Not sure if I'll make it.
  10. This game is the loving, charming soul mate that will occasionally flip out and beat you with a bicycle chain. I say "beat." What I really mean is "thrash you to within an inch of your life."
  11. Eat my balls, jerkwad
  12. Bale one is defs superior.
  13. Although you did empathise with him in the earlier games - this horrible thing had happened to his family and he wanted revenge - but in 3 he turns into a sovereign, king douchebag, just looking for the nearest thing to kill in the most vicious way possible, which I really loved.
  14. Really looking forward to this. God of War is the most satisfyingly brutal game I've ever played.
  15. Kaz Hirai is my hero
  16. Work your way chronologically. Just watched Laputa again and I'm still amazed by how much personality and earthyness the colours have in their animation from that era.
  17. Ah right, I thought you meant if you guys wanted to play together.
  18. Nah, you can't use the same account while online - obviously that's why PC gaming works so well on Steam; piracy is negated through that means. To be honest though, it won't take him long to get a decent library - there are always weekend deals/ midweek madness deals, and the spring sale isn't that far off.
  19. I dislike the stick placement for the simple reason that with the right hand your thumb largely alternates between stick and buttons, lessening the likelihood of cramp, but when the left thumb is extended to reach the primary analogue usually indefinitely, it gets really uncomfortable. Also think about it - when controlling a character with the primary stick, you're using the stick constantly to maintain direction, whereas the right stick you don't have to use as much just because you're controlling the camera view in much smaller increments. The other problem with the DS3 sticks is that they have a fucking colossal deadzone in the center, meaning you have to decentralise them by a marginally larger degree to get a response as compared to the 360 controller. What also makes this worse is that the sticks - when you actually get them past the dead zone - are a bit more sensitive than the 360 sticks meaning the disparity between deadzone and the actual sensitive region is amplified ever more.
  20. Upon reflection, it's definitely my face. SEE WHAT I DID THERE?
  21. Well, those updates happen every week, so it's only a matter of time before they run out of shit to release.
  22. Anyone know where I can get a cheap PS3 slim? The PS2 was £60 at this point in it's life cycle
  23. The title suggests that this is somehow to do with the man stingily rationing out his toilet paper supply, probably as some bizarre form of environmental activism.
  24. The thing is, they've already announced NTSC exclusives for the PAL PSN store - the only problem is, there's no specificity as to title and release date, so it could be years in the distance. My desperation to play the fucking game has gone to the point where I downloaded it and an emulator for my S3, but the audio - which is one of the best things about that game - is all synchronized and out of time.
