Hitler was a Nazi, Mussolini was a Fascist. Fascism: A system of government marked by centralization of authority, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism. Hmm...from that, the US's "policy" seems quasi fascist to me. There are diffenent degrees of Fascism. Admittedly Bush is not quite fascist on a Mussolini scale. And not wanting to wipe a race or culture from the face of the earth? what about this crusade on Islam? There is clearly an indoctrination of youth going on, pretty much everywhere, whether it's religious indoctrination, or patrial indoctrination. These things do go on, it's just that Bush has managed to put a friendly face on them. Aanyway, there is about a 99% chance that I've got my facts completely wrong, so you shouldn't take anything I say on politics too seriously.

This is oh so old, but amusing nonetheless. Damn those bunnies are ugly. And I think I'll go for a different colour this time....

what is your fav tales gme on nintendo system!
The Bard replied to Emasher's topic in General Gaming Discussion
No no, no, you lose. Just because you haven't experienced something better and are consequently able to appreciate something sub par doesn't mean you have it better off. And Symphonia wasn't the first RPG not to have random battles. That was Chrono Trigger. -

The Bard replied to Emasher's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yeah, the stories (which are a major drawing point of any RPG) get tedious after a while. ALthough, my sis has completed Symphonia 7 times and she's on her 8th time through now, so it suppose it has it's appeal. I will certainly be getting tales of Tempest though. Man...If there is a God in heaven please let us get Golden Sun for ds.... -
Has anyone posted this yet? I couldn't be bothered to go through all the pages, so here it is: http://twochineseboys.blogspot.com/2005/10/i-want-it-that-way.html Best thing I've ever seen.

Yeah, I know, but I think Bush, being the audacious bastard that he is, wouldn't hesitate to change the law. And another point is that, when you come down to it, I think that if Bush or any of his cronies are found guilty of anything that is punishable by the death penalty, then they should die, simple as that. But the fact is that they'll never get their day in court. The stuff the Bush Administration has gotten away with is so much worse than anything that took place when Clinton was in office, yet they impeached his ass. To quote Macbeth, "All great Neptune's ocean cannot wash the blood clean from his hands."

Er...of course you could do dual analog, I'm not sure whether it was the standard or not, but you could definately change the settings to support dual analog.

anyone getting annoyed with phil Harrison?
The Bard replied to mcj metroid's topic in Other Consoles
C'mon, the man looks like Lurch for gods sake. Although Lurch has him beat cause he never talks, unlike Harrison who has a penchant for talking out of his ass. -
Oh wow, those look great, I really loved the Persona series on PS1, they were the most challenging and quirky RPG's I've ever played.

Er...Hurrah..? Dear lord, when are people going to get over the fact that the bush administration is just a legalised terrorist organisation? It seems these days it's popular to hate Bush and Blair, and that people are jumping on that bandwagon, but it is entirely justified: Terrorism: The unlawful use or threatened use of force or violence by a person or an organized group against people or property with the intention of intimidating or coercing societies or governments, often for ideological or political reasons. Bush is just a little boy inexperienced in life, riding on the coattails of his father and just isn't used to being told that he can't get what he wants and as a result he resorts to enforcing his truth through a gun. The US government's lies are deluding ordinary people as to whats really going on. Does any rational person believe that the hundreds of thousands of poor, innocent Iraqi civilians that went "missing" was the result of anything other than mass genocide? Nothing matters to Bush, Iraqi's don't matter, even his own citizens don't matter, they're all just disposable heroes for him to use as he wants. This is just entirely the problem with having an old and senile man in power. He is going to die soon, which is why world issues such as global warming (the effects of which he can deny as much as he wants, but that's not going to avert it) don't matter to him, because the real consequences of these things won't onset until after he is gone. And his cronie Blair is even worse, the man doesn't have any balls to stand up and say "we won't bend over for the Americans." When the bastard was asked in parliament what he thought about rigorously taxing aviation fuel so that the waste isn't emitted in the place where it is most harmful (and thus prevent people from embarking on pointless flights, and to think twice before they do decide to go), he said, laughing "I think we'll leave it to another country to suggest that one." He is a Jackass and I look forward to his death. In fact...here is a nice little poem that describes the US' utterly fascist regime: Bombs to set the people free, blood to feed the dollar tree, Flags for coffins on the screen, oil for the machine. Army of liberation, gunpoint indoctrination, The fires of sedation, Fulfill the prophecy. Now you've got something to die for, Send the children to the fire, sons and daughters stack the pyre, Stoke the flame of the empire, live to lie another day, Face of hypocrisy, raping democracy... At the end of the day though, I'm just another random jackass who has his two cents to give on political matters that he doesn't really know anything about, but from what I have seen happen since September 11th, there is no way the world can afford a third term of Bush in office. Edit: Eh? You what?

A place to get Gundam Wing models anyone?
The Bard replied to EEVILMURRAY's topic in General Chit Chat
Haha, yeah, I have one of Deathscythe, got it from Pink Kamikaze, a shop in Afflecks palace in Manchester. -
Heh...someone clearly has too much time on my hands.

I didn't say that you said that Retro can't do FPS', but yeah, I agree with you on the diversity issue. I think Retro should selectively expand their personnel with ex members of Rare, Free Radical, Bunjie and various other studios, it would make them in some ways a "superstudio" and allow them to experiment with other types of games. The only thing Retro have yet to prove is that they can come up with an original concept for a game, and follow it through to make a great game. However to beak them into the market, they should go for a genre that is popular, and usually unavailable on Nintendo consoles, such as FPS's or Beat em ups, and this would cement them as one of the all time great Nintendo second parties, even though they're already the best in my eyes.

Here we go...Look im not going into whether its a FPS or a FPA, but the fact of the matter is that it's in First Person Perspective, and you shoot stuff. Reason enough for me to call it an FPS. What I was getting at was the fact that they handled the mechanics of it so well, with the jumping, the speed and the locations, it wouldn't be hard for them to add dual analog control and a few semi auto rifles now would it? That's one of the reasons I don't really love Prime Hunters as much as I thought I would, because the beam weapons do not suit a traditional FPS, and no, Retro probably isn't more valuable elsewhere, they're one of the only studios I see as being able to advance the FPS genre, recently, there's only been Halo and Far Cry that have blown me away, and I think that Retro have the capacity to do much better than those two games.

Haha, thats the funniest thing I've heard all day, perhaps because it's only 7:50, or perhaps it's because I did exactly the same thing with our first computer back in 95, man it majorly pissed everyone off, lol I felt like such a jackass afterwards

I thought Nightfire was great, my sister loved it aswell, I think I played Multiplayer on that more than on Timesplitters (though I liked TS better). Nightfire had those awesome guided missiles, and those Remote Helicopters and Tanks that were hella fun. It wasn't that bad of a game either, it got 6/10 in Edge who're famous for their stingy scoring, and about 8.5 in IGN. So quit yer bitching!

Lol where is that from? Is it the six million dollar man?...last I recall I heard Ted's band from Scrubs singing that...sure is funny tho lol. I see your point about not replacing young link, but what I think would be awesome is fully customisable characters, where you can choose their Ratio of strength to agility and costumes, maybe even being able to create your own moves, that would really be ideal...
-
Given that FPS' seem to be their forte, I think they should go for a traditional style FPS, because that was the one thing that frustrated me about GC, that there were no great single player FPS' and, so I think they should go for one in the vein of Quake or Unreal Tournament, with Online Multiplayer, that would be a killer app for sure and a perfect use of the new controller. Either that or an epic third person action game such as Prince Of Persia, God of war or Shinobi (infact any game with ninjas should be awesome) I dono, those are the two types of games I see them being really good at.
-
One of my favourite "bad" games was Dragonball Z: Greatest Legends for PS1, because it was amazing, especially in multiplayer. Others would be: World Heroes (Megadrive) 007Agent Under Fire (Cube) er...that's all that comes to mind actually...

Kinda a few weeks old dude. Look around the General Discussion forum (I think) it's been posted there before.

Ten Reasons Why You Don't Need a PlayStation 3
The Bard replied to DiemetriX's topic in Other Consoles
That wuz funny...but I think that there is truth to it, If GTA 4 is the size of past GTA games they won't fit onto just one DVD, and they would need to have a system similar to the PS Final Fantasy games where you switch CD's. But it sure as hell doesn't matter to me, I hated every GTA I ever played, so I won't be getting it, regardless of whether they manage to cram it onto a DVD. Precisely, seems like everywhere you look people are desperately trying to sell you on their opinion, I don't know why so many people have turned on Sony this generation, perhaps they see Sony's monopoly on videogames as unhealthy for the market, or perhaps they realise just how unfounded the hype for the PS2 and now the PS3 really is, but the fact of the matter is that most people aren't stupid, and they don't need to be fed mostly bullshit reasons such as on that site, they can see clearly what jackasses Sony are making of themselves plus, and most importantly, when they get one look at the price point and see that they're paying for functions that they don't even need, they will realise that they don't want to buy into the hype this time, especially when there's the 360 sitting across the store which plays mostly the same games with the (by now) ridiculously well selling Halo series for $250 less, or that new quirky Nintendo console thats going for a quarter of the price. -
Yah, I didn't get any glitches in any of the POP games. In sands of time once though, I was playing and the screen froze and went all distorted and fuzzy with loads of purple. But thats all, it only happened once. The only other game I've ever encountered a glitch in was Ikaruga...which deleted my memory card, the bastard.

First games I ever owned were: Streets of Rage Revenge of Shinobi World Heroes Street Fighter 2 Turbo and Sonic 2 Twas my first console aswell...

Just recompleted Chrono Trigger, got the Carnival Ending after fighting Lavos in 1000AD...My old files got deleted ages ago, so I now have to go and do it again and get all the other endings...good thing is though, I get to start it on level 60. Ohh yeeah. Just to reiterate: Best game ever. -
Oh sweet, that's worth getting an account for...I've forgotten the email and password for the old one, so I think I might just try that. Thanks a lot!
