  1. Hmm, was working fine for me earlier. Oh and cheers for the invites McMad and Phee . I'm gonna be playing Half Life 2 this week, but I'll definately be up for some multiplay sometime in the near future .
  2. Counter op in PD was amazing with a friend. I still have fond memories of traveling on opposite elevators frantically trying to frag my mate (yeah...no homo eroticism there... As for framerate, I think that was only an issue if you played without the expantion pak, though. I actually made all the classic PD and GE levels on the map editor in Timesplitters 2. I'm getting an urge to go back to that game now actually...so many fun moments. Too few console FPS these days that don't tend to focus on the split screen shit anymore, which is a shame.
  3. Quite like Iron Man, and A Scanner Darkley, thought R Downey Jr has been the best thing about both, so is the Hulk worth me giving it a go? Also been on a bit of a Ghibli spree of late. Full reviews will go up later, but I loved Kiki's Delivery Service, and Whisper of The Heart recently. Whisper of The Heart was more my kinda thing. Both get a firm 9/10
  4. Thats one of my favourite Wii games, some of the puzzles are pure brainbenders that take a lot of time, and it fits perfectly with the art style. My sister just asked me to buy boom blox aswell, which should finally get my family to play a game lol .
  5. The Wii already has a Hori stick am I right? I don't think SF4 would be a good fit at all, but I could see the console becoming a safe bet for developers of 2D fighters that find the 360 and PS3 too expensive to develop for. Even though it's pretty much considered anathema in the realm of fighting games, I'm looking forward to having some not-too-serious matches with friends online on SF4, and I just don't see that ever working on Wii.
  6. Holy Jesus. Coolness gets infinite respect points for being man enough to honestly give something new a try .
  7. Haha, excellent. Lookin forward to some fun times
  8. Yeah. What mcj said .
  9. Ah cool. They've released some awesome games so far; Daxter, Chains of Olympus and Okami (even though it was a port). I think they're good at working with limitations, so they definately have the caliber to do something AAA, even though it'll be their first time working on an original IP EDIT; well that was too much to hope for
  10. Decided to buy GTA4, Ninja Gaiden and Burnout Paradise (thought I should get something other than a shooter lol) soon, been waiting till I got bored of playing COD lan (which is awesome).
  11. Yeah I liked it too, it's good but their best is still AOJB. Try it, see if it appeals to you. It's a lot heavier and complex, less melodic, but everything is miles better than on their other album, especially Jesse (one of the greatest metal singers of all time). Their new guy is also brillant, has brilliant range and can growl like a mofo, but I think they sorta changed their music to adapt to his voice. : peace: Anyone heard Vancouver by Jeff Buckley? Some beautiful stuff going on there.
  12. Woo hoo, just got a new PC that can run all of my steam games. Finally gonna be playing TF2. Anyone wanna hit me up on that? My steam address is teh_bard. Yeah, boiiiiii! I was looking for someone to reccommend me some good RTS' at the mo, I'm looking to start playing C&C Generals with Zero hour, and Starcraft again. Anything besides that I should be looking into?
  13. Spent too much of my day arguing with a brainless shitstain about thoroughly inconsequential things. But it wasn't all bad, somewhere in between I watched Nausicaa of The Valley of The Wind, which was brilliant.
  14. Well, what I didn't like about it going back was that it is sooooo sluggish. It took Mario like half an hour to turn and he moves so slowly. It's still great, by the best Mario game will always be SMW for me (I'm as big a fan of the series as everyone else anyway).
  15. Actually Mario 64 has dated pretty badly . Now Super Mario World...that's a game that'll never ever get old.
  16. I haven't actually heard Cavalera conspiracy. I'm not a huge fan of Soulfly though, so I'm not sure about it.
  17. I'll take this one:
  18. Actually, it's the best thing that could have happened, considering Melee is vastly superior to Brawl and all...
  19. The above post is most righteous, dude. Excellent!!
  20. Bands I would see if I was going: Dillenger Escape Plan (would stand well back for fear of getting shit flinged at me) In Flames Apocalyptica Children of Bodom Wildhearts Amon Amarth Between The Buried And Me Testament High on Fire maybe Motorhead Hence, it's not really worth it for me. Especially since last years Download was so fuckin rocking.
  21. Haggis, firstly, if your friends are the sort of people to get petty over you hanging out with someone else once in a while, maybe you should ask yourself if you really want their friendship in the first place. Secondly: I can't believe you're complaining about being popular! Count your blessings, man
  22. I think that's my bad. Whenever anyone insinuates that KsE/ Opeth/ A whole load of other stuff is below par, I tend to take it...a little personally. But then, I think that everyone should view music as something deeply personal. Oh, and Coolness, when you first listen to it, Alive or Just Breathing may not be for you. The first time I heard it I was like...13 and I just did not understand it one bit. There's so many tiny details, that the big picture becomes a little obscures, so it took me a while to take it all in piece by piece in my mind. Started reading the lyrics (which, unlike 90% of metal bands, are brilliant). Start off with the songs "My Last Serenade" (the chorus is what grabbed me the first time around, Jesse just has the most beautiful voice), and "The Element of One," and take it from there . I think getting into good metal is a progressive thing (is there a pun in there?), you start off slow, but it grows into something close to an addiction. Just keep an open mind, and never think "ugh, I can't believe I'm listening to metal" because it doesn't perhaps agree with the way you see yourself as a person. What I'm probably trying to say is that appreciating all sorts of metal isn't something that comes immediately to everyone. Okay, rant over. I'm off to listen to some Opeth .
  23. Right, Duke should not have been there and neither should have Wolfenstein. They play like utter shit nowadays. Were the blazes was F.E.A.R? Why was Halo so high? Goldeneye was amazing, but as a competitive FPS I wouldn't have thought it could hold it's own even against PC games that were out at the time... Why the hell was Doom 3 within 100 places of the top 10? Terrible list.
  24. In response to that, I would say that every album Opeth release is unconditionally my album of the year . I don't hear as many new albums as you every year though, so enlighten me, what gets your pick? As for KsE, Alive or Just Breathing is easily in my top 10 albums of all time, because it is for all intents and purposes, perfect. Every song on that album is immaculately conceived. Every riff is it's own microcosm of brilliance. End of Heartache and As Daylight Dies are two albums which when you first listen to them are like, "wow, this is good," but that wears down. I can't really listen to those albums anymore, and definately not without remembering that KsE are probably the most talented American metal band on the planet, and have (seemingly effortlessly) done so so much better in the past. Still, those albums weren't a huge misstep, they were both written and recorded within the space of two months, which just goes to show that if those guys actually tried to put out another defining album, they could probably release yet another paragon of modern metal. It's still great headbanging material, although I think the last two albums were sprung out of a lack of need to prove themselves. And excuse my seemingly selfrighteous sense of indignation, but the majority of posters on this thread can suck my balls if they think anything they say can or will be taken seriously, considering they have absolutely no knowledge or appreciation of the subject at hand. Also: Holy fucking shit, Coolness Bears and Cube both like Watershed? This makes me happy.
