  1. yeh i got bebo metroid, so much handier than myspace, u want me to pm you the url? and since we're on the subject of our cats...
  2. a forty year old in his parent's basement roflmao!!!!1 classic! and stabby, you also pointed out he said the controller shell was final. surprise, surprise, there was no shell controller, never any word from nintendo it WOULD be a shell controller, and the classic controller is beautiful (just to mention lol) i never believed him and made my views on that clear earlier in the year, but i always accept that i can be proven wrong. however, don't think it's gonna happen this time... (sorry for the use of "roflmao", it pisses me off, dunno why i typed it)
  3. haven't heard of this yet but i wouldn't be surprised. maybe it'll be for wii demo pods too? who knows? i'm thinking of leaving GAME anyway. our area managers are complete wankers! our store isn't allowed to sell any mint games or hardware if it's over £20!! only preowned. why? coz in september r store will have been open a year, and when august of next year hits they want the growth percentage to be sky high so they can all get a great big pat on the back from GAME HQ in England!!! seriously! and they're also celebrating coz at the minute our preowned percentage is so high HQ is praising them!! if only HQ knew they are cheating! its ridiculous!! we have to tell people to go to our other store in Belfast. as far as i know this is illegal. GAME HQ don't know about it, if they did i'm sure these guys would be fired!! they are manipulating the system for their own gain and i can't stand by and lie to customers any more, especially as i have used GAME for years myself. i can tell you once i leave i won't be buying anything there ever again until they're all fired and new management brought in. and >>I<< will be the one to squeal on them!
  4. there is not gonna be a gc portable, it goes against everything nintendo stand for right now! they've chosen a different path since announcing work on a new game boy a year or two ago, they're not gonna go back now! and as far as the ds being the third pillar, remember they also said that they only expected around 10% of gamers to "get" what they were doing with the DS. it's now taken off so well they're completely changing their outlook on the games industry. and i think when the latest issue of ONM was written (couple of weeks ago remember) the german show wasn't confirmed as a big deal yet with the "wii prove our promise" statement, so the magazine was going by what it knew at the time. they are incredibly accurate but u gotta remember it's been out since last week and it takes time before that to go thru publishing and distribution.
  5. last year in turkey i noticed they tried so hard to speak english, some were terrible but so was my turkish, and because we were trying, no matter how bad we were they understood and respected that we at least tried. Going to the massive market was fantastic where you heard them shouting (in quite good english) "cheaper than tesco", "cheaper than primark", even "cheaper than matalan" lol! one small kid who was selling shoes even shouted out "cheap shit!", and "cheap shoite!" when he heard our accents lol! as for religious people, i don't believe in any actual religion per say, but i have a deep respect for those that do but who also understand that it is their FAITH. in other words, it's what they BELIEVE to be so, and not what they think should be forced down everyone around them. Working on the trains before as a conductor I had to ask a man to stop harassing three young ladies one night. They were dressed up to go out, actually very smartly dressed they weren't hanging outta their tops or anything like that! he had been walking up the train trying to leave christian leaflets on every seat and i'd asked him already to stop (like we had to do with anyone trying to hand out leaflets of any sort, as it makes it look like the railway is doing it and may cause offence). anyhoo, he started ranting to these ladies because they were going out drinking for the night. they started getting rather upset and scared of him, and i had to ask him to leave at the next manned station... which was his stop anyway. i know that's a rare incident, but i know there are plenty of people out there who wish to force it down the throats of everyone, and especially those who stand in the streets shouting that we'll all burn in hell if we don't believe. charming! whatever happened to loving and respecting everyone? isn't that what religion is meant to teach?
  6. is that so...? so what would happen to you if i mentioned Sigourney Weaver in Alien3? Demi Moore in GI Jane? Ross' hot bald girlfriend in Friends? That enough to keep you going...?
  7. thanks a bunch people!!! about to go to bed and i've got that bloody song in my head now!! NNNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.......................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. neither can keira knightley but you still would... would be impolite not to.
  9. GAGGLE64 FOR PRESIDENT!! no seriously, well said.
  10. i think did they not state that this was basically just the set up for the e3 demos? so no one could hog the game for ages?
  11. um, ford perfect, bit harsh...? you say you're sick of anti-islam comments, and correctly state that not everyone is like the nutjobs we see on tv. then you go and attack an entire country, where i'm sure not everyone is like that there. remember, all we see on the news is bad news, and we can't group everyone of one religion or country together so simply. if we did, we'd believe that everyone in the USA and Britain wanted to attack Iraq for example. i live in northern ireland and back in the 80's and much of the 90's everyone thought we were a war zone, a constant rush to get where you were going incase you get sniped, where you had to check underneath your car every morning, where everyone hated everyone else if they were of a different religion... couldn't have been more wrong, 99% of the people here wished it'd just end, and had nothing to do with it whatsoever... the other 1% that still carry on today SAY it's religion, but it's really now gang stuff about drugs, something every country has, and has worse than here! i know what you mean, but not everyone will watch the show, and will think that what the advert states IS what the show is going to conclude too, and will accept it as "gospel".
  12. sorry, meant to say "there IS" a longer version, you're right retro-lover the version you found is the short one
  13. personally i seriously doubt a new gameboy will materialise. two reasons, it'll impair the ds, and it also goes against everything nintendo seem to stand for these days with the ds and wii. but that paragraph seems to be hiding something else...
  14. i agree that the programme may not be sensationalist at all, but the advert certainly is! it is unfair to air that advert and channel four should never have put it together the way they did! what about all those simple-minded idiots out there that wouldn't watch the programme but will see the advert and assume THAT is the programme's findings?!
  15. APART from the controls? the controls have sold me on it lol! yeh the preview in ONM has me hyped too. let's hope the developers can get it ready for launch.
  16. this is a longer versin, spent most of last night searching for it to no avail
  17. the first one goes back to the 50's (it's an 80's film remember), the second goes into the future, and an alternative present, i think the past too but i may be wrong, basically all over the shop! the third is the cowboy one.
  18. all it needs is sensitivity alteration, and most FPS games these days have them built in for the user to alter if needs be, i'm sure it won't be difficult to include something similar in something like zelda. besides, it's still not finished, so we can start complaining about it yet!
  19. finally #breathes deep and grins# fellow fans of ONM. superb magazine, and although ngamer is a very good companion piece for slightly different opinions, i feel ONM is the superior read. only just got as far as the "Wii have to meet" or whatever the feature's called lol! the magazine just has a way of really hyping me about wii at the min! :D and i noticed a few very subtle hints, supposing i'm not reading too much into it, that they already know what's happening end of this month for their next issue but that they're having to keep schtumb! would make sense, since nintendo will want the german conference and all their news covered in the press as quickly as possible, and who else to turn to but your publishing partner! and did you notice the small complaint about getting shots from old games? and we'd be told what the fuss is about next ish? another hardware feature like the NES one? ... or a full-on VC feature?
  20. i dont understand where the ONM hate is coming from, i think it's an excellent read, and as much as ngamer was very good, ONM is much more mature. so what if the stories were on the net first, that's not exactly ONM's fault for goodness sake! and besides, it's good to get all the internet gossip either verified or rubbished from the official source. also find their in-depth previews are fascinating and much more "in-depth" than the net. don't get me started on the resi wii fiasco!! that was blown outta proportion by people on the net, the magazine never promised anything for the next issue, it said it'd be a while yet for heaven's sake.
  21. i still say that they aren't in my bad books. they never promised anything for the next issue, and what their staff writer said in response was worded poorly yes, but that doesn't detract from an excellent magazine. it was blown outta proportion on the net by the "magazine-haters".
  22. that was also the best bit about going to see Cars! that and the casino royale trailer :D
  23. well now, this is just a classic! this clip sums up my entire childhood i think lol! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7aHaxYwlM0 as for this one, i loved the tv show, as i have stated in another thread, and the series had a profound effect on me. well ahead of its time in many ways that other shows have copied since, it also had deep characters, and fascinating ongoing storylines with a pre-planned arc long before babylon5 ... and the icing on the cake was those lovely spaceships form the fifties movie... recreated with special effects that were stunning for the eighties, again long before babylon5 made CGI popular! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNQq568f1LE&mode=related&search=
  24. Knight Rider and Nintendo nerd to my friends lol, hence my online moniker! also war of the worlds, and sharks! love them! "careful now..."
