makes you wonder, with the DS having shifted 800,000 in france, and over a million in the UK do you think Future will release a DS mag here? i don't see any reason why they can't!

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Redemption
knightendo replied to Raven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
i'm not sure if i can pick out a character that easily, they all had their fantastic pieces of story, and i liked that you never knew if your character would die or not. have to say, the very first time i turned it on, i got an actual shiver of expectation down my spine with the way they presented the nintendo logo at the start i completed it right thru to the final battle, spent dyas on it then my memory card got wiped. bloody hard! anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? i just don't seem to have the time to cast ANY magic in such a confined area, and running past him seems almost impossible! -
just back from four days in paris, and man was it amazing!! the eiffel tower completely blew me away!! and the arc de triumphe, the egyptian obelisk and the fanatstic egyption artifacts in the louvre etc etc etc... not to mention the hot hot hot french ladies and the greatest virgin megastore lol! speaking of which, i'm quite jealous that the GC and DS are getting much better treatment there all wall bays for all machines include about six shelves with a HUGE selection of games, at the top of each bay is an LCD monitor of a game from THAT bay too all floor bays are about four shelves high too, again with an absolutely massive selection of games on each. the ps2 has five large wall bays, the xbox has two wall bays, the 360 just the one. the pc has the most, with several wall and floor units. the gamecube still has three large wall bays and lots of room for accessories, and the ds has three floor bays, as does the GBA. i was gobsmacked!! also, i'll post up some photos once they're developed, of a cool little restaurant you may all wana visit, and a couple of nintendo toys i'm so gonna buy when i go back in a few months lol oops, quick edit: i forgot to mention that i picked up a copy of two magazines while i was there, the first was nintendo le magasin officiel, made by future publishing with the same design as our new one, but it's on issue 48 so obviously future have had the license over there for quite a while. the other was a bi-monthly nintendo ds magasin officiel! already on issure four. yep, they're getting their own bi-monthly chunck of DS goodness from future publishing. looks brilliant too, handheld size and chock full of reviews!! free viewtiful joe cartoon dvd with the big magazine, and stickers and stuff with the ds one.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Redemption
knightendo replied to Raven's topic in General Gaming Discussion
it was one of the two games (the other being sunshine) that i bought with my cube when i bought it way back in december 2002 and it scared the bejesus outta me! especially that saved files trick lol, the cockroach crawling over the "outside" of the screen, the phone ringing.. and, of course, THAT bathtub! i thought it looked amazing, especially for a first generation title. i think the reason it didn't do well was because nintendo didn't market it at all really. these days if a sequel was being released nintendo's attitude has changed and i think it'd do very well. so fingers crossed... -
Ultrajamie's Revolution thoughts (sold my 360)
knightendo replied to ultrajamie's topic in Nintendo Gaming
ultrajamie, i read your article on the other site, very well written i must say, same goes for your post here. welcome aboard, sounds like it'll be good having you around. and jordan, nintendo have been building relations back up over the past couple of years, i can see a mountain of support for revolution from devs already in the press, things are looking sweet a friend of mine who owns an original xbox and who frequently comes round to mine (and vice versa) for game nights was telling me about this guy called nathan that comes over to visit him about twice a year. last time i met nathan he ridiculed me for owning a cube, saying he bought one and it was "shite". ofcourse, then i found out what games he had actually played on it (spiderman the movie 1, cel damage and taz) and i just laughed. brian (my original-xbox owning friend) actually took up the reigns and argued for the cube, having at that time just spent the best part of three weeks with me playing through desert storm and metroid prime ok, i need to get to my point: nathan brought over his xbox 360 the last time he was across. and brian was telling me how unimpressed he was. he said it offered nothing new, the graphics were only slightly better and that nathan was saving for an HDTV >JUST< for the 360! the funniest part of the story was nathan's attempts at defending his purchase, it sounded to me (i wasn't there it must be said) like he was disappointed himself but just wouldn't admit it, and his future-purchase of an HDTV was his last ditch attempt to prove himself right! might sound far-fetched but believe me, he's the kind of guy who ALWAYS has to be right! about everything! i thought about this, and simply laughed to myself, and thought of the sub-£200 revoultion and all the NEW kinds of joy it's going to bring to me and my friends... and my current TV -
yep that's the one lol! that was genius! i think this "new" "story" is something along the same lines that has gotten outta hand. and you've turned into a "frequent poster" my friend
-
yes that was already posted on another thread. and as for the countdown... is the nintendo pre-e3 conference not two days beforehand...? on the 9th? so maybe we can knock two days off that heh

remember a few months ago those brilliant pictures that popped up here, all along the lines of "what nintendo create, sony take"? all very clever mocked-up pictures of a sony FHC, and i think this is just another little joke and i wouldn't worry about it. yes sony are probably worried at the minute about nintendo but i don't think it's limited to the controller. there's the extremely low development costs, the DS's success, the new features the DS is receiving, and the phenomenal success of the wifi connection, so i wouldn't worry too much about this little "story". as for the comment about the DS getting the internet browser and nintendo's original comment about how all the additional features of the PSP watered it down. i think ninty can still stand by that. with a touch screen and mic input the potential was always there for further applications. nintendo's point back then was that sony were throwing all their eggs into one basket, with a lot of applications that were all mediocre is design and implementation as sony spread its work over so much for one device from the word "go". with the DS, nintendo have been taking it one step at a time, proving its worth first as an innovative new gaming device that can pull in new audiences, then as a powerful and successful wifi gaming hub, and now they can concentrate on each new application giving each one the attention they deserve. the end result will be a machine with each new application kicking sony's rushed attempts in the butt.. and taking their names, naturally!

yeh, the government will have to make concessions about how many in each area, or else the ban just won't work. having a small percentage of these bars still allowing smoking is fine, non-smokers can then still go out and not be victimised against and still have a large choice (a small percentage mind you, so this ban can still function and cut down the amount of smokers and smoking-related deaths), and all restaurants, public areas and public transport (not that i'm bias towards that final one ) should be non-smoking. owen and retro-lover, those scenes you are describing remind me of a girl i know (i think i mentioned this a few pages back but anyhoo...) who was complaining about how she "can't" stop smoking and all that and how it's not fair that smokers are not getting any sympathy for their addiction. when i told her she had >>chosen<< to start she said "no i didn't, i was forced to. it was peer pressure, it's not fair." how sad... and i have to laugh at all the teenagers smoking, thinking they're "hard" and "independent"... yeh, sure you're "independent" now that you're having to rely more and more on mummy and daddy for your pocket money to afford your smokes lol, and ofcourse you're "independent" by just doing what all your friends tell you to do lol!!

could this not be a nintendo fan taking the piss outta sony and the way it steals all its ideas from ninty?
-
both of those news sources sound like they have delivered incredible stuff! just over seventy days to go folks until we find out from the big N themselves! that's just seven pay packets away... (trying to think of anything that makes the time between now and may 9th seem shorter!!)
-
calling them "non-gamers" games is a bit cold, as if gamers would find no enjoyment outta nintendo's unique new titles. that's just not right, i find all the unique games for DS some of the best i'v ever played anywhere! so why the long face? those sorts of games have been a blessing on the DS, having new ways to play etc. for example, i can't wait for pheonix wright and trauma centre. a brand new IP that brings in that kinda audience that nintendogs did, only this time right from the launch of the machine, to me that can only spell success
-
we're gonna see a lot more original and exclusive games that'll sell anyway...
-
that article's use of the term "power brick" is a bit uncalled for! it woulda hidden the power tranformer, so if nintendo HAD have gone with the idea it woulda been so much better than the thing microsoft came out with!! it will probably have a small box in the cable like the cube did.
-
i actually went back and watched the first two after really enjoying the third, and it still stands as my fave. it would probably be the only one of the three that i would go outta my way to watch again, and it's the only one i own.

Nintendo fan directing 118 118 advert...?
knightendo replied to knightendo's topic in General Chit Chat
http://www.visit4info.com/preview-flash.cfm?vm=0&type=2&adid=30317 lol! that's just brilliant! pure genius, love the way they put the bike together in like two seconds flat! :D -
but that's my point, us non-smokers have not been able to have any say in the matter ever! and i feel it's more important for those concerned about the effects this has on their systems to be able to have that freedom, than it is for those who smoke to pollute those around them. it's something we're never gonna agree on, i understand that, we're both at pole opposite ends of this, but there are compromises that can be found, say if a certain number of pubs in each area were allowed to remain smoking bars... but if new york and ireland are anything to go by, the economy won't suffer and may infact increase trade as there are more and more non-smokers these days, and they'll all start pubbing it more.

Nintendo fan directing 118 118 advert...?
knightendo replied to knightendo's topic in General Chit Chat
this one was so ridiculously funny tho (as an a-team fan lol!) especially the young kid in the barber shop! gotta be seen to be believed!! -
i'm glad you understand that it is something that i have thought of before and that i am not just reacting to the ban. however, can i just ask a civil question...? do you get where i am coming from? you keep asking me to understand your opinion and i do, but i just feel it would be wholly unfair not to have this ban in place, with some smoking bars/clubs available too. people should have the choice whether they mind breathing it in or not. at the moment, that choice is not there. and my smoking friends, not one has complained, they honestly do not mind the ban as they are used to it with so many of us not smoking anyway.
-
demonmike, yeh maybe there should be a small handful of smoking pubs in this too, but i think non-smokers should have the freedom to go out without breathing it in.
-
i think it'll actually feel more natural to have that wire between the attachments and the free-hand, like the nunchuck. for those of us used to using both hands, and for those newbies who may feel confused using two completely seperate entities to control one character (for example) on the screen, so a wire would simply eradicate that confusion. besides, you gotta think about how many wireless signals the revo is designed to interpret (4).
-
and chopper, yes my group of friends does include both, but the smokers in the group aren't whining about this new law, and when we're together at different people's houses or out in places other than a pub they don't even feel the need to ask, they just go outside to smoke. it may not be an issue to you as you are a smoker, but the world is changing and it DOES matter to a helluva lot of people who don't want your toxins inhaled into their systems. it's a filthy disgusting habit that harms those around you, simple as.
-
well said pestneb as ireland has proved, this ban will not have any long-term detrimental effects. to begin with maybe, but once non-smokers realise it's properly in place they'll just take the place of the smokers, and then the smokers shall return and use the beer gardens etc. simple. oh, to finally be able to go to a bar and if i meet a girl not have to taste her ashtray mouth!
