many good points, and yes the memory is expandable. the gadget show on five had a feature about MMORPG's a few weeks ago, and stated that all three manufacturers, including nintendo, were investing money in this type of game for their next systems. with something like pokemon i just know nintendo are gonna crash through the MMORPG market in their own unique way. but i also have faith that their many secrets that they are keeping from us will house all our unanswered questions. it's a genre nintendo aren't bypassing, they've stated so themselves, let's just see what e3 brings, i think we'll all be pleasantly surprised, and besides i think even the hardest core MMORPG players will have a revo too as nintendo have said that the revolution will appeal to every kind of gamer, new ones right through to hardcore. the DS' online service some say is limited, but remember we're talking about a handheld here!! mario kart was a great start, but look at animal crossing and metroid hunters, look at how that online wifi experience is expanding, and that's only on the DS! i have complete faith that nintendo's online service will be the best out of all three systems, and i hope i don't sound like a fanboy when i say that, but i honestly believe it. i think that's why microsoft are so pathetically trying to attack what little we know about the revolution's wifi, they're running scared about what is yet to be announced!

unfortunately i can't see ninty replying, with how secretive they're rightly being over the console. we may just have to wait. personally, i'd like the stand to change a little so it can house the transformer instead of having a brick like the xbox 360. but on the other hand, the cube's transformer is small enough to hide and i can't see the revo's being any bigger, so if it ends up as just a stand i'll be happy enough too as that's defo how i'm gonna display my revolution

as nintendork said: "But the patent details how you can place the little dreamcast dongle thing in the top of it." meaning, nintendo's own controller might slip in the top of it? maybe sega have realised that the shell for their light gun could be used in a completely different way with nintendo's controller...?
-
awk bum. lol. shame really, with all the talk of all the attachments possible with the revo controller this could've been a cool little add-on. although i suppose where the "B" button is on the revo's own controller will already make it feel like a gun in such games.
-
i won't even pretend to know what all that means lol but i have to say it is great to see developers thinking about expanding on the rev controller already, and sega was sure to be one of the first. nice find

ok so i don't personally know any journalists for games magazines, but where do you get off calling them that?! that was just uncalled for!! with the pedigree that is working on the magazine with years of experience, proven nintendo track record in them all, and with them having (and i quote) unprecedented access to nintendo, why not just take their word for it for now? you're basing your argument on the mock-up you have seen, it is only a mock-up! look how the ds changed over its design process, and the revo could be the same, they knocked together what they have at the minute, the stand could change to be made of something else, be thicker at the rear, anything! please, i don't want to argue, i come here to relax, all i'm saying is that the design you are basing your argument on was only for display purposes and to give us an idea of how the stand will look. yes that could change, or it might not, but at the minute all we can do is wait for e3.
-
nintendo will change his mind, i can hear reggie's leash being taken off him now!! and afterburner with the revo's controller! ooooooooo.... ppplllleeeeaaassseee!!! please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please please .... pretty please...?

well at the minute i like DCK's idea that it could be used either way, and raven your idea is cool but unfortunately i can't see it happening boohoo, i love it tho! and yes, i WILL believe it if it is in the official magazine until nintendo say otherwise. after all, the current pictures are of mock-ups that don't need to look as if they could be a transformer, this can change when functionality is added to the next mock-up or even the finished product. as it stands, nintendo themselves are saying this, they could change their mind however, but this is the latest news as far as i am concerned.

"not true". well none of us know anything yet from nintendo themselves, so we just don't know what is ture or not, despite what has been said or not said in the press.

New interview with Mark Rein of Epic games.
knightendo replied to DiemetriX's topic in Nintendo Gaming
i'm glad he's not a games designer for the company if he thinks graphics are the be-all-and-end-all, he said in his previous interview that the next generation would be all about the graphics... how shallow! -
yeh, cheating the official magazine, why to go for supporting nintendo!!

i for one ADORED it! i think it is just the kind of magazine we deserve after the kiddie image of the previous NOM. ONM is a lovely breath of fresh air, much more mature to appeal to all age groups, i like the wee bits of humour, and seeing as it is a nintendo magazine you gotta expect them to "up" the ninty cause, just like a ps2 or xbox magazine would. i agree with the comment about psp owners getting bored i have to say. flaight, if you didn't have the option of choosing the game then it looks like you're not getting it. give them a call to straighten things out, when you ring the number on the subscriptions page in the mag, you'll hear a recorded voice that tells you the number for enquiries. i love the magazine, and have subscribed already! usually i wait a few months before doing so, but this has me hooked already, absolutley class! just gotta decide between the signature and the mkds decals now, damn it!

oh, need to add spiderman 3 and pirates 2!! the first two spidey films were just mind-blowing, and i hope the third maintains the emotional character-driven stories and humour. i have no reason to think they'll stray to a more "brain-dead action movie" formula, but then again i didn't think bond would either before die another day :S

lololol!! migraine you should SO send that to nintendo explaining how you got them. hilarious! that man is my hero, just to clarify!

well rokhed i can tell you now smoking in a designated "non-smoking" area is not just illegal, but selfish! you can do what you want to your own body, but without people's consent you have no right to inflict it upon others. i'm a train conductor and in northern ireland we've banned smoking on all trains and buses too, and i can tell you if they reinstated the smoking carriage there would be hell to pay from the public and the staff! and as my translink contract says about it's non-smoking policy: "non-smokers have more of a right to breathe fresh air than smokers do to smoke" - couldn't put it better myself, it's about the only good thing this railway has said in years lol! our new trains are fitted with smoke detectors in the toilet, if someone smokes, an alarm sounds and the train's automatic brakes kick in and it stops on its own. the passenger is removed from the train at the next stop and not permitted to continue on that service, then prosecuted, the last one being fined for over £500 (and the conductor and a few passenger witnesses all enjoyed a reward cheque of £250 as a thank you from the railway). if you want to smoke in that five hours, drive! my friend the other day was complaining about the ban, and i quite openly while in full uniform on the train told her to wind her neck in! she wants to quit herself but moans that it shouldn't be forced upon her, that (and i quote) "i didn't want to start, i had to, it was peer pressure". once she said that i gave up lol! smoking and non-smoking pubs and clubs might be a good idea i agree. from what i've heard from southern ireland business is booming because all the non-smokers who never went out clubbing and pubbing it now are, and all the smokers just use the beer gardens which are designated smoking areas in some of these places. and any smokers who huff and wana stay home, well the off-licence business will boom then jk. my other friend emma, who also smokes, quite heavily, has no problems at all in smoking outside when she pops by, or going outside when she is down south, she's quite a considerate smoker i have to say, and if more people were like that i wouldn't be so annoyed with the habit. blowing it away from people doesn't make sense! smoke goes where it wants to waft. as lee evans said, when complaining about putting the non-smoking section next to the smoking section in reastaurants, does the smoke waft across to the non-smoking section then go: "oh, we're not allowed!" lol

i'm a huge bond fan, and i hated die another day, i'm so glad to hear we're finally going back to a proper bond movie, and casino royale is my fave of the novels... anyone remember THAT torture scene???
-
never came out today over here and eason's came out with the worst peace of garbage i've ever heard when i showed the advert for the mag in edge she said: "that date isn't the release date but the day they print it." eh?! lol! i'm glad to hear it has come out though, so hopefully get it tomorrow or this weekend, not fair we have to wait though!! we never do with any other magazines! and i read the ad for it on nintendo's site (it's one of the "images" in the story about it) and am i right when i read that the cover is a collector's edition cover and so we won't be getting an edge-type cover every month?
-
wow! excellent princess peach, how long does it take to put something like that together?! my faves would probably be the two with you holding nintendo characters, or the pose of you holding the two poles, very elegant lol. well done, any other costumes you;ve done? you must love hallowe'en!

i doubt the sensors will require wires, when everything else is wireless, having wires dangling over the back of your tv will be messy, and they've already stated that the DVD dongle would fit inside the machine out of sight completly. saying that, last month's edge stated that DVD playback had now been built-in.
-
is it out yet? i read on here that it was meant to be last week, but it's this thursday is it not? NGC, Edge and ONM on the same day... well, actually, make that TWO copies of ONM (for ebay in a few years lol!)
-
posted this in another thread but this seems the proper place for it now: that does sound bad, but i don't think it'll be cancelled... maybe it's own budget has been cut at the moment in order to go towards its own rebranding, rather than pay for another magazine (after all nintendo will be supplying cash towards ONM as well). remember NGC used to be N64 Magazine, and before that it was Super Play. In a few months, after E3 we may see NGC resurrected once again [just a quick edit: i don't think future publishing would be foolish enough to cancel one nintendo magazine just to make room for another, would kinda defeat the purpose, and there'll always be those wanting an unofficial mag too. with the GCN market dying on us now NGC's figures have probably dropped, much like they probably did at the end of the N64 Mag and Super Play days. Super Play was actually cancelled outright but the team reformed for N64 Mag. i think the same will happen here and this woulda happened regardless of the new ONM. what you guys think...?]

i think it's fake, or maybe just a guesstimate... as it's too close to the cube's. nice find though.

go owen!! go owen!! lol! i love getting hyped about all of this i can't wait to come here and check for more new news, or to grab the latest issue of the magazines, but i know the difference between proper nintendo news and what we could can "blog". i know when i can get hyped, and i love realistic speculation, i got so hyped over the DS that my work even let me go half an hour early so i could go and join the queue for the midnight launch of the DS about an hour before the launch lol! and the DS didn't disappoint at all, but yeh it is surreal to finally get ur hands on something only seen in pictures for so long... but surreal in SUCH a good way :D
-
maybe a little TOO coincidental though..? hmm... it certainly looks convincing enough that it's parts of the word "revolution", and if they simply meant something straight forward like the wifi connection being "revolutionary", or it having somethingto do with the globe, why not make it more obvious that it is that word...? i think they're teasing their fans that would be able to spot something like this
-
chandra was the best member of the cube team by far very happy with the combination of him, original edge editor steve jarratt, and future publishing!! i wouldn't worry too much about the cover as, after all, the title would have to be made up of the nintendo logo. by the sounds of it though, it will distinguish its outside self from NOM by the quality of its cover...
