  1. Also appreciate you playing the level and the feedback @Sméagol ! I saw your speed run time actually. I'm going to work on another level today. I think I'll keep the simple nature like my first attempt. I've played a few random courses in the 'popular' tab in the game, and it strikes me that the majority of them are all bonkers. I'm not sure if that's the draw of this game for most people, but I find most of the levels I've played are a bit too much. Will play some of the levels from you lot here next too.
  2. What is the one way gate? I'll have a look for that. And in the end I did focus on one specific thing. I used an ice theme and decided to go with spikes as an obstacle combined with the spikey shell enemy. It worked out an ok level (I think!) I'll screenshot it and upload in here in a sec so you can all rip it apart.
  3. Thanks Grazza. I played around with it and came up with a compromise. It's addictive this level making malarkey. But frustrating too. I went in blind, having never played the previous game, so some stuff I think up ends up being rubbish. I also never had a very clear idea in my mind as to what I wanted to create, I've kind of just gone at it as I've gone along.
  4. I have a quick question for anyone kind enough to help: I'm making my first level ever (it's a lot of fun!) But I want a section in my level where there's a warp pipe that takes you to a different "room" with a warp pipe that takes you then back out. I've added the room and completed its layout, but the creator is asking me for a second pipe which, again, I've added to take me out of it but it then needs a fourth pipe to come out from. So what I want to know is, can I have one pipe on my main level to go into the second room with, (which needs a second pipe in the room for Mario to come out of) and then a third pipe to exit from which brings you back out of the original pipe you entered from. So three in total? I've fiddled with options but the creator let's Mario go back out the way he came in, which I don't want really. I want the user to have to get out of the room by going up the course to a different pipe. Hope I make sense... Can't wait to share it once it's done!
  5. I didn't play the previous MM game, and wasn't sure I wanted this but picked it up at the weekend and have been playing just the story so far. I bought NSMBU Deluxe in January and I have played the first world and haven't bothered with it since. I have a real fatigue for that style of Mario game at the moment - so the obvious thing to do was buy Mario Maker 2! I have actually been really enjoying it. I watched quite a few YT vids of the early story mode levels and I liked that they were kind of traditional, but also off the beaten track enough to look interesting and challenging. I am about half way through the story mode and I like it a lot. I haven't played anyone's creations yet, nor have I attempted to create (not sure how much of that I'll do unless I try it and find myself enjoying it), but it's a fun little game!
  6. Credits just rolled on Adventure mode. Although there is still more to do as the last world doesn't let you get all the CTR tokens or the time relics once you beat Pin Stripe. In the 'final' boss battle, I was racing Nitrous Oxide, and was, unsurprisingly, struggling. But then something weird happened and he went from being in front of me to nowhere to be seen?! He was way behind me, and stayed that way the whole rest of the race as I breezed into first! That's a glitch I can get behind!
  7. All I can say is, I'd pay £100 to have my memory wiped to play Detroit: Become Human again. So the fact it's free and you're all 'hmmm, I might play...' - shut your dirty mouth and play it immediately! Honestly, it's probably my favourite game this generation and I can't see it being topped.
  8. Ooohhh my bad! I thought you were like a pro at it. I'm not even going online. F**k. That.
  9. Yeah, like you say 'general consensus'. Great it's easy to you, but bear in mind I never played the original so it's taken me a long time to get the drifting down plus I don't know all of the levels shortcuts, which do actually make a difference when you utilise them. I'm on the last adventure area now, and have 100%'d everything that's gone before so I 'can' do it, it's just the consistent replaying which can get really tiresome. The Relic challenges though - delicious. Could play them all day I love them.
  10. Yup. Definitely starting to get really boring having to play the same race ten times (literally) just to hope you get lucky on one of the tries to win. And then another ten times to try and collect the CTR coins and win. As much as I like the adventure element, the AI is totally all over the place. It isn't even a case of getting good at the game. All down to luck.
  11. Lol the AI really is crap in this game. I've spent the last hour on just two races simply trying to just place first. The AI is just always placed way ahead of the pack. Doesn't matter if you use a missile on it, or if it gets hit with something else, it always ends up straight back past you. Whereas if I get hit by a missile, I can kiss the whole race goodbye as I'd never catch up. Really frustrating and pretty unfair considering the tracks are quite challenging in their own right. Which I do like. But add that in on top and it becomes very annoying. You basically have to have a perfect race and luck to boot in order to win.
  12. Yup absolutely agree that DKR is karting king and will never be beaten. This game is up there too now, but DKR has better characters.
  13. Yeah agreed. Mario Kart DS remains my favourite ever MK, one because it was on the best system Nintendo has ever made and two because it had a single player that I actually really enjoyed.
  14. I finally got drifting down tonight - made up. I actually really enjoy the drifting now I understand how to do it. The game looks visually stunning. I also think an adventure mode like this is what Mario Kart severely lacks. There just isn't as much personality in MK when you compare it to something like this. It's easier to play, but there's much bigger reward with this game and it's nice to break away from the usual "come top at the end of 4 races".
  15. The drift mechanic isn't the easiest or most intuitive in this game. I always end up drifting the opposite way to what I need to go. I also understand the reviewers saying it's frustrating. Three times I've come second in one race now and I need to win it to unlock the next section. Still, finding it better than Team Sonic Racing so far, but that doesn't take much.
  16. Picked this up just now anyway. Went with PS4 version. Will have a little play later and post some thoughts.
  17. I was set to pick this up too, but the difficulty is meant to really ramp up. I'm not particularly bothered that it becomes harder as the game goes on, but like H-o-T, I do find it frustrating when the AI is built to be in the way no matter what you do. I don't want to buy another kart racer and be disappointed after Team Sonic Racing ended up being pretty garbage.
  18. Didn't Black and White (the best in the series, might I add...) Only allow that regions Pokémon throughout the game? I'm sure that happened but I can't remember that far back. I personally loved that. As it was like playing a brand new game and having to just try different moves to see if they were effective or not to understand a Pokemon's type. It has become a bit of a bore to know exactly what is effective against a wild / rival Pokémon due to how familiar you get with them. I also don't do online battling, so the competitive aspect doesn't bother me so much. This isn't me excusing GF, but I'm not really bothered. I also don't get the hate for the 8 gyms. I have always loved the gyms. You only have to look at the pile of sh*t that Sun and Moon were to understand that it doesn't work when they try something new. Come at me. Just my opinion.
  19. I still keep watching that Banjo reveal. Could be one of my favourite E3 moments ever. Seeing Grant Kirkhopes Twitter during and after has been actually a bit emotional! The guy is overjoyed, and rightly so.
  20. I just caught up. Best thing about the whole thing was the Banjo reveal. Amazing. Luigis Mansion 3 looked great, and that's about all I was excited for.
  21. I'm a bit disappointed. If they'd have just gone for smaller worlds (and more of them) but stuck to the same style as the original, then I'd have been happy. This still looks great, but it definitely isn't what I wanted in terms of a follow up. I will still buy it though I'm sure - I just felt like they were almost there with the original and a sequel could have ironed out the kinks to make for a better game.
  22. I did end up buying this again... Lol. 150 hours play time in... haha. I've managed to be A+ ranked in 'simple' online tournaments the last two months. I have to give them props for the updates and support this game has had. Each additional character has really been fun to play with, and there's such a difference between each one. I actually like the depth it gives the game when you come across a character you haven't played against for a while online - and you have to work out a different way to win. It's easily one of my favourite ever tennis games and Switch games overall.
  23. Ahh yeah it did feel familiar. I think it may just be Sega's obsession with casino levels too that makes that particular one feel like I've been there before.
  24. Agreed. The biggest mistake they made was just sticking exclusively to Sonic characters. I always did love me some Pudding. It also felt to me like I'd played the tracks before? Have they taken any of these tracks from previous versions? They feel very familiar. Which is not a good thing. I have to say the actual mechanic of the 'team' racing didn't appeal much to me either. Maybe I'm just so accustomed to looking to win as a solo amongst the pack but I found myself not really being bothered about where my team mates were in the race. Using the boost mechanic by tailing them was nice, but that aside the item giving / taking felt very much like a gimmick to me. Such a shame, I was so excited for this game.
