Couldn't they just realise abit of firmware to emulate DVD's? couldn't u do something similar with Dreamcast? or am I getting muddled up!

yeah this got me wondering. Is it technically possible for the Wii to do HD? As far as I understand the 360 renders everything internally as HD regardless of whether u have a HDTV or not then downgrades it accordingly? Could there be a possibilty of some kind of add one being created that would enable HD? Like render supported games in HD? I am completely speculating here and admit I don't really know whether its even possible/plausiable just asking. This is in america because you can only get them online for some crazy reason. I'm sure we will be able to atleast get 3rd party tho as a last resort. One thing worth noting was that when he was looking at the save files it said next to Tramua Center the number 2, maybe this is number of blocks? wonder how many blocks we get on the Wii's flash memory?

Good to see other people similarly impressed, just hope we get enuf reviews between now and UK launch so that we can make a fair choice between this and Red Steel!

that would be ace, guess its whether or not the Wii drive can actually read them or not, or whether the optical drive works in such a way that makes it impossible.

yeah true, i also make a point of bringing it up on the screen to try and make a point. also the controllers are down at £49.99 at the mo, so show them that to try and put them off.

still makes me giggle that companies have to write things such as "systems and controllers" not included, we get people at work all the time coming with a PSP carry case and saying how can u afford to sell them for just £20 surely they must be fake?! With Excite Truck seemingly not set to to make it for Launch this is gonna be the one for me IGN gave the 360 version 8.9 which isn't bad check out the review here: http://uk.xbox360.ign.com/articles/742/742381p1.html I actually quite liked Underground 2, and Most Wanted was also a good game, they are slowly getting better, I think the racing genre will really benifit from the wii controller and nice to see EA trying to create some alternative controls, although those pics don't really help think they need to be tried to be appreciated.

Ok so last week from some sides I took a beating for my negative feedback about my comments on what I had heard customers say about the Wii, but at the end of another hard day at work, I came back much happier that word of mouth seems to be spreading and the Wii is building up momentum. had numerous people coming and preordering the machine. heard people talking about it and knowing thier facts. All sorts: groups of boys, older people, groups of girls aswell (tons of them in getting their pink DS lites!) seems a genuine enthusiasm is starting to build up. Even had an old couple who were buying a DS and Brain Training for themselves asking me about it. I used my till scanner-zapper to kind of explain the wiimote and the old man seemed well impressed with it commenting "Thats clever, my grandchildren play on these things with controllers that I just don't understand, this is much more my kinda thing" I instantly imagined him with a WW2 helmet on ducking behind his sofa playing Call Of Duty 3 for some reason!!! I told him to pop back soon as Brain Academy was coming to the Wii! So maybe people saying the Wii won't appeal to all ages/groups (myself included in some respects) and therefore won't be considered a success. I mean I love the Wii everything it stands for etc.... and I love the fact that more people seem to be buying into it. So a much brighter picture than last week from my perspective. One slight grumble our new staff shirts have 360 plastered all over them, in promotion of our 360 chart games from £37.95... but thats nothing Nintendo can't beat I'm sure.

Watch this video, even though it is abit blurry cos it isnt direct feed, it still looks incredible graphically, ok so it's not gonna beat the HD visuals of the 360 version, but still when the bombers are flying over head and turf is getting thrown up in the air, looks so good, this is fast overtaking red steel as my FPS of choice, just have to see which has best controls come launch.

yeah seems abit odd, so he was serving to himself then returning it?!or maybe when he said both sides he meant he was playing doubles and controling both people on his "team" not to sure.

hmm wonder, its disappointing that we are getting the PS2/Xbox build, I would much rather we got the 360 build but obviously graphics downgraded from HD, it seems we are actually also missing out on gameplay elements rather than just graphical .

I personally don't like N Gamer that much I acutally prefer Revolution (ok out of date name) but thought it was a better laid out magazine, and the issue i picked up had a good Zelda preview, but to be honest other than edge I very rarely bother with games mags, the internet is by far better.

hmmm thats interesting for a word that Nintendo picked for it's universal world wide appeal. Although I suppose it makes sense also that some languages wouldn't have a W, much like we don't have alot of the letters that make up some other languages.

Right Im just gonna stop, cos seems this thread has just turned into me having to defend myself for just saying what had happened and that nintendo need to try and sort it out is they want the Wii to appeal to the wider market. EDIT: DCK, just re-read ur post were you having a go at me or just making a general observation using the proverbial "you"

I would have done was with another customer. did look back to see if they were still there to ask if they needed any help, but alas they were gone. I think it is down to the dispaly material more, the fact that the girl and her dad were browsing around in the games section, makes me think that between them they must have played games, or atleast have some knowledge.

jeez chill out, was just saying what i'd heard. thought this board was for discussing what we thought about the Wii, thats what I'm doing just giving an impression of what I think, as well as snap shots (small snap shots) of the publics perception of Wii and why I think it might be, I'm not telling Nintendo how to do thier jobs just what I'd like to see them to do, theres a slight difference. EDIT: Also one other reaction I forgot to write in my intial thread starter cos I'd forgotten about it owing to my rambling about the other things was a teenage boy pronouncing Wii as "Why"?!!!!
