yeah you definitly need one.
-
yeah iv always known you dont point at the screen, the wiimote interacts with the sensor bar, not directly with the screen. alot of people have said this takes awhile to get used to but once you do its fine.

This is soooo strange, all this news of people not getting them, remember when release dates were announced there would be plenty, whilst I expected demand to be high, I really didn't expect them to not be able to fulfill preorders just expect stores to get thier preorders out and then sell out thru sales. Good news I guess just not for tbhose that want it on launch day.
-
I preordered mine from play originally, but cancelled it ages ago and preordered on at work, (even though thats not definite i'll get one) im glad i wasn't relying on play though after this, i ordered mine mid afternoon on the day they started taking them.

I thought that had debunked as not true.

i reckon massive kudos if they call it by that name lol!

Right as a HMV employee I feel the need to defend them. But only to a point. It is indeed true that they do not how many each store is getting, but they do know how many the company as a whole is getting (a figure I don't even know despite working in the games department in my store) they will close to dispatch time decide how many each store will get, based on total number preordered and what games sales are like in that store. Also the reason you can't be told your place in a list is because thats not how the preordering system on the computer works. without going through everything single preorder and recording the date and order number and then putting them in some kind of order. but if you were 1st person to order one in your branch it will be allocated to you first when the consoles come to be processed in store thats how the computer works, it will print out the track stickers (stickers with the barcode on) with customers names on them in the order they preordered. Now I know this seems strange, but this is how they work out all thier preorders for everything, and is thier business model and as a non games retailer I'm guessing they don't see anyway to chance their business model for this. I do agree this is an odd way to do things, but I used to work in WHSmith and when the gamecube came out the night before we still didnt know how many we were gonna get in, turned out it was 10, 5 of each colour, we literally just left it and waited for the people who had preordered them and gave them out first come first served. I mean I work at HMV and don't even know for sure if I'm gonna get one, which is pretty annoying....

alright just shoot me down then
-
yeah i know u can but not really the same is it? from your stand point, if you just wanna play illegal roms on your PC, the VC isn't going to appeal anyway. Wheras people like me would love to play it through my wii.
-
I was just about to suggest this myself, before going back and reading that you'd written it! I think this is exactly what it is. it would save development costs as you would have no firmware being loaded on, just whack a disc in the box with it all on.

I've developed an idea of mine (or given it a name) Virtual Console Versus or vcv for short, on this service u can play all the classic multiplayers online ust like xbox live arcade. you heard it here first

Marvel Ultimate Alliance will be awesome theres a movie up on either gamesvideos I think, and it looks so good, with the gesture based combat looking awesome and how you can combo moves together...I won't be getting it at launch owing to money probs, but soon after I will.

doesnt now, uses the classic controller, ign have a new hands on about it

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
flameboy replied to Sarka's topic in Nintendo Gaming
if this wasn't on the rails I think it would be awesome, but seems to hold it back abit, this isn't really dragon quest lets me honest. -
yeah its just for any newcomers who wanna pick up some cube games, unlikely I'll admit, altho there are so many classics! anyway, im not bothered i've got three controllers anyway
-
yeah ur right I only had one on the n64 think it was 2, then only 4 on the cube.
-
it is abit annoying that the classic controller can't be used without being plugged into a wiimote, makes it just as pricey for 4 player smash bros. guess they didn't include any wireless stuff in it to keep costs down.

IGN hands on:

I have to admit I got bored of mario party a long long time ago, but you never know this could give the series a fresh impetus and new direction.
-
yeah i have to agree, altho the latest movie preview on gamespot seems to be more positive and when you watch him play, he doesn't seem to find it unwieldy like some players have in the past.
-
Well sounds interesting... I think a few of us had already guessed classic controller wouldn't work with cube games, owing to the lack of analogue shoulder buttons, some games wouldn't work properly, like Rogue Leaders speeding up and then clicking to open the wings, or racing games where you had to feather the buttons. Not sure if I'll pick up the classic controller straight away, but the cube's d pad isn't in a nature position so it annoys me.

I'm definitly going to the university one on weds, i'll be on work on saturday, unless i could play on company time lol.
-
Like on Xbox Live Arcade, heard it was quite laggy at first, but think its been sorted now. As for Smash Bros, it looks so good, can't wait for online play will be so good. Hope the character roster is somewhere around 40.
-
yeah thats the scale of was referring to.

If anyone is thinking of going to the sheffield university one PM me, we could meet up and go, maybe do some camera phone previews of the games?
