Virtual Console - All you need to know
flameboy replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
yeah does make sense, it does have a clip on the back of it. i think its stupid having to sit with the wiimote in your lap. Or sitting next to a desk with it leading up or something. -
truly awesome laughed so hard!

Nintendo need to sort out this ignorance ARGH!!!!
flameboy replied to flameboy's topic in Nintendo Gaming
yeah that is true, but then thats not Nintendo's work is it? I havn't heard a single positive remark about it from customers, even some of my colleagues are already writing it off as a kids console. -

I disagree the console it out in just over a month, people should atleast be aware of what the console is. -
As some of you may or may not know I work at HMV, we have display material around the store saying PREORDER WII NOW written on them, then with a picture of the Wii and the Wiimote. These are two of the reactions I heard people saying about it: "It looks shit, its not even even got an analogue stick" this was a young lad saying to his group of mates, I'd term them all as casual gamers (as I look down at them), but surely Nintendo need to try and grab these gamers if they are to become number one. I did try to explain to them, but they simply said to me, "sounds abit wierd to me" Here's the second reaction, little girl askes her dad what that is pointing at the Wii picture, he said wait for this wait..."ITS JUST A WHITE DVD PLAYER!" ARGH that made me mad. Now surely this could be down to peoples own ignorance, but surely with little over a month till launch nintendo should be worried that some people dont even know its a games console?! or I am just over reacting?! I don't think I am, I say Nintendo pull your finger out, get that tour of the country, putting the wiimote in peoples hands and get advertising ASAP! I would just like to point out before people start flaming me for being negative, that I have up until now been soooooo positive about the Wii, its just annoyed me that other people dont appreciate it!
-
what cable does it come with again?
-
I can't believe this is coming out as a launch game as a product on it's own, surely as part of a complilation?
-
super fruitfall? how come we only get 13 games? I guess we do have alot of franchises though, something that tends to be unseen on launches. good to see less shitty party games than i expected.

What are you doing to waste your time till Wii?
flameboy replied to flameboy's topic in Nintendo Gaming
yeah i have found it easy so far, got the lost chapters though so guessing it'll be abit longer? -

nice and honest abit different. wonder how darts would work on wii. -
Just wondering because aside from doing a mountain of uni work I'm also getting down to what will be last bit of conventional gaming for a while hopefully if the Wii kicks off. So what games you playing to bide the time till the Wii? I've just bought Fable finally (always meant to buy it but never did.) so far really impressed with its great gameplay just so much to do, depending on how it goes I could (its a big COULD though) see this overtake OOT as my favourite game of all time, I'm that impressed with it so far. Also just got wireless internet so planning on playing abit of wireless mario kart and animal crossing. I've also completed luigi's mansion recently was gonna start a tour of all the old cube games, but thought I'd maybe leave that for later cos gonna sell my cube now, as price may go down after Wii has gone down.
-
yeah bit of a sweeping statement there.
-
WHAT????? Majoras Mask I can maybe understand (i got it after the cube came out and never really played it!) but you've NEVER played OOT?!!!!! you should play it before TP, otherwise I think it may lessen it's impact, cos it is a truly incredible game.

Definitly Wii Sports without a doubt, make a Mii give it a quick go, maybe let my girlfriend in and play some Wii tennis before kicking her out and playing Zelda for the rest of the day till late night, when I'm too knackered to fully appreciate it, then I'll settle down to some virtual console games.
-
I really hope they will. Xbox 360 is touring the country, with exclusive plays of games such as gears of war, viva pinata, need for speed carbon, call of duty 3, plus a wealth of older titles. they are touring all over for two days. surely Nintendo has to get it sorted and do something to combat this, the more people who see the wii the more people will possibly be enticed into buying, Nintendo want to get more people into gaming with the Wii, ok adverts will do so much, but actually seeing and touching the wiimote will help promote it.
-
I can't tell you exactly how much but I know the supplier cost is roughly £147, so thats how suppliers sell it on to retailers for, maybe we can back track from here and work out somehow.
-
I'm glad somebody else said it because I wasn't going to! £32.99 for a next gen titles (lets not get into the debate about whether they are truly next next gen or not owing to graphics the fact remains they are.) is still a bargain!
-
On the calibration subject. I reckon maybe when you start up a simple pointing the wiimote at the centre of the screen, could be used. because surely the sensor bar needs to know roughly the parameters of the tv? because it surely can't acount for how big the tv is.
-
yeah good call, with those three, expect all the minigame, party trash to be in there to! like spongbob.

How to type on the wii fast and smooth - an idea
flameboy replied to blender's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'd say wait and see if you can use a usb keyboard if you can I know what I'll be using... this other typing idea seems abit wierd to me! -
granted your idea bout the pointer was good, implemented right and coupled with excellent play through balls could work like a dream. as could crosses etc...
-
Not at all excited. it is indevelopment for PS2 and Wii (as home consoles, also PSP), its yet another current gen game being developed for the Wii (allegedly a next gen console!), I see nothing great about this game, it will probably look near on identical to the PS2 version (okay a few differences but not many!) just with Wii controls. Whilst I'm loving the idea of using the Wii's controller its only on bona-fide next gen titles that I'm getting exciteda about: red steel, monkey ball (ok current gen, but developed from the ground up with the wiimote in mind.) being just a couple.

I remember a few months ago,I started a thread about football games, and when people thought we'd see one and most people thought it would be a bad idea to try and implement the Wii controls. I have to say i still agree. Pro evo has become such a success, and its all been based around one thing, its control system, fifa has tried to copy it many times, but you always feel fifa has never managed to intergrate the controls quite as well. for along time people said Pro Evo had worse graphics than fifa, but pro evo prevailed with its better animation and better controls. we are likely to get a version with worse controls and PS2 looking graphics. I will put money on the Wii version being arcadey, gimmicky and a mess just like the ISS (had its gimmicky slow mo bits.) on the cube, which i bought but returned (god bless Games return policy!). I also reckon it will not be called ISS and not Pro Evo, so as not to tarnish the Pro Evo name. Personally i think the best established football genre that should be brought to the Wii should be Sensible Soccer it would be much better suited as it has always been arcadey and a little over the top.
