Hundred Years of Solitude = Win. Bu LOTR not havinga message? I don't think that's quite true. Written between/during thw world wars by an author so very typically aggrovated with the loss of rural life and the inevitable 'decline' that urbanisation brings. Loss of innocence, rite of passage into adulthood, racism, good vs evil... yaddah yaddah yah. Why isn't there a message? The message is "change sucks, but it is inevitable" maybe? I don't think it is a lack of a message, more just that there isn't anything new being said.

N-E Culture Club - Lost In Translation 11th Jan

Well done to those who watched the movie. Those who couldn't be arsed; shame on you. This isn't just another excuse to watch a movie you liked, this is supposed to make you try new things. Having said that, this week we gotta try to watch The Fifth Element, a movie we should've all seen many a time. mmm... Mila... -
I don't mind more-of-the-same, so long as it isn't hyped up too much (like Gears 2 kinda was), I'm just worried that RE5 will lack a certain charm in level/character design, rather than just new drab-yellow, rather than drab-blue, colours... That wasn't phrased well but I think you get my gist. It could just be that I know nothing about teh story, too. Adding co-op to games is fine by me. I find co-op to be what I look forward to the most in games because it stops me feeling unsociable when I'm gaming And regarding the images - woo Mercenaries

The last two years the xmas cooking has been reserved for us nippers rather than me mam. We've not got any grub in the house ready yet - sister arrives on monday so no doubt will do a food run while I live it up with the iNEars. Most important is that enough alcohol is stocked, for i plan to drink lots and lots while 'cooking'. I've always had that for xmas, except one year when I was ill and miserable and so I had pancakes instead. Mmmmmm.... Can't wait. Pigs in blankets are indeed Teh Win.

Don't worry, eenuh; I think I saw teh same postsecret and thought the same thing too. I saw FLINK yesterday! Totally weird. I had a toilet seat and he made me smell his candle. he queued up a lot and I smoked a cigarette, then I tried to convince him to come to the meet-up on monday over a subway, but he just said he'd 'think about it'. Then I went home, had a nap, put my phone on charge. When i woke up the phone was ONFIRE. Not literally, but temporally. Temperately? Hotly. Yes. And no battery. Then I went to the pub with some locals and had six double vodka red bulls in about an hour, then two pints of cider in the next two. I was good-drunk. It wasn't weird or awkward to have Summer-fling-girl there at all, which was ace. When I got home I read in the tv times that Garden State was on at liek 2am, so without a phone I had no idea what time it was and just flicked around for a few hours 'waiting' for it to come on. Eventually it kinda dawned on me that it must be way past 2am now, so I went back and checked the TV times and noticed the date at the top was "Saturday 22nd November". What the fuck is up with parents? My mum had me spending 3 hours 'fixing' things yesterday, which involved moving TVs several times, re-wiring dvd players and speakers and replacing lightbulbs and blowing fuses and getting electric shocks and finding out my mum THREW AWAY MY CHILI VODKA which reminds me I gotta root through the rubbish in the garden to find that when I go out for a smoke in a min. My sleeping pattern is OFFICIALLY fucked up. yesterday I woke up at 9am and today I woke up at 8am. Whattafack! I must be mad. Today I've accidentally made plans with one person after already making plans with another person, and told two middle people conflicting happenings, too. now none of them are responding to my texts, but it's still MORNING so there's no worries there. ENOUGH.

*ignites Danny* Whatever are you talking about? It all makes perfect sense. off you go. What is the time travel theory you speak of that the movie phails at so badly? really I just want everyone to shut the fuck up about fucking star wars, aight?

Duel My dad first showed me this movie over a decade ago, and I've always liked it. Such suspense built up, and an interesting sense of paranoia and eventual return-to-earth moment when reality hits and the means maybe don't outweigh the ends. or something. Yeah, I wish this was in the movie club as it's well worth seeing. (In case you didn't know, Duel is a Spielberg movie about a dude in a car being relentlessly taunted, chased and harassed by an 18-wheeler tanker accross a long highway. Check it out.) bastaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaards waiting for me to leave before showing that shizzle. nami is Shorty's shortie, and my flatmate. HANDZ ORF! After watching it, I believe that people who don't like it have no Awe bone. Wanted is in teh vein of Shoot 'Em up, the Transporter movies and general action-fest stuff. I still don't see what was so bad about it. It was cool.

Lol, Tapedeck no offence but you're clearly suffering from girl withdrawl :P Your response of, basically, be nastier to her for a bit is what all blokes say when they've had their heart used as a dog toy. Blame the girl I love these threads. I don't really have much to add, though. I would say one thing, though; these situations we're talking about are entire relationships, entire people that you've attempted to sum up with such brevity so that it can fit into a single post. All we have is your description of the three of you and how things are going. It is pretty much teh minimal amount of information a third party can have about a problem. But from how you described teh sitch, I can do some faux-psychoanalysis and suggest that you want to leave your girlfriend because you're bored of the sex, or you're not getting enough, so you want moar. What else have you questioned? What answers did you uncover that you wish you hadn't? The moment this friend told you that she liked you is summed up as if it is freely floating in space - what led to this moment? What happened afterwards? The image of two people walking to teh middle of a room, having this exchange then walking off in different directions is quite funny. To me this suggests that you place emphasis on her rather than your own actions that led to this moment, and your actions afterwards. Not talking to her the next day and not having her on facebook already means you aren't really that friendly, too. Yeah I don't really know where I'm going with this. Sorry. Finally, I do wish you'd change the "fried" to "friend" in the OP. Makes me hungry for eggs.

If I lived alone, I don't think I'd look after myself very much. I'd spend all day in bed, on my laptop with the curtains drawn. having housemates means I should at least try to make some form of social contact once in a while, which keeps me from merging into myself too much. My flat would slowly dissapear under piles of trash... yeah. I couldn't do it.

Well I have a visual on some presentz now! Shorty and nami gave me a few wee bits and... ooooh I couldn't resist a little prod/shake and a smidgen of blind man's x-ray, too. My mum's got three mounds of gifts laid out for me, sister and brother in law. I can tell already that I'm getting a chocolate selection and socks for sure, without even touching them yet. About a quarter of the presents I ordered for my family have arrived so far... Worrying my face off!

Rummy dude that's awful! I feel for you bro. But you need to come still! Without a YP card it'll be a wee bit pricey but still manageable - I'll give you one of the drinks ReZ is going to buy me Come on man! We have so much stuff to philosophise over, and we need to play backgammon together. And talk babes. Srsly. I'll be in Brighton until the morning of the 29th, so a fleeting encounter is a must! Any yes I think flinky should go - he keeps saying he'll "think about it" but we need an answer! -
4. Centrifugal 11. The Lives of a Bengal Lancer 12. Water Displacement 19. Scotland, not Ireland. Bored now. I'm guessing some of these questions are QIesque red herrings, but hey. Wiki/googling these isn't hard :P You say to do it without googling, but if you don't know the answers what do you suppose we do, go to the library?

Nerves are half the fun. You have nothing to worry about. If you meet with me first on the train in brighton then you have a couple of hours to make an ally out of me, then we can team-it-up to survival when we get there. I'm down in Brighton now - perhaps you wanna meet up this weekend first? I'm dying for a drink... -
Letty; you wanna close teh tag on your 7 santas picture. I think your pile of torn-up wrapping paper is frankly poo :P as is your person dressed as an xmas tree! I think they deserve more effort. And yes, I am harder on you than everyone else.

HELL YEAH I beat Tellyn, again :P 3-1 with only 10 men. I actually shouted and punched my fist into the air when I saw the result. I'm now level on points with Tellyn, but I have a game in hand. I only have to win one of my next two games to be promoted... Looks like I'll be playing with teh big boys next season... Cripes! I also got manager of the week again, despite Cube having 7 players in teh x11 :P In your face tellyn :P -

Well it's coming up in a few days. I think Flinky will be avoiding this thread - may the shadows of a thousand birds cast over his most favourite sunbathing times. I'll get some tickets when I'm back in brighton either tonight or tomorrow, and I'll aim to get to St. Albans for midday on monday. The list of people looks nice (seeing as I've already met half of them before), so are we all certain we'll be appearing? -
Ok, so I want new music. Stuff similar to Finch, The Used, Brand New, mewithoutyou, Postal Service, Aqueduct, Legion of Doom, Cold War Kids, The Knife. Need some 'ardcore emo shizzle and some IDM. Please?

Well I finally collapsed at about 9pm. No drinking or celebratory goodbyes as I was faar too tired. But now, of course, I'm awake again. Woke up at 4:30am... I guess I'll ninja-video-it-up for a few hours, go over a few things then begin the arduous journey home. I wish I had something to eat. I wish I had some alcohol. I wish I had an xbox to play on. Oh well!
