  1. A 2-2 draw with Haden where i was in the lead twice, and I'd missed a penalty in the 2nd minute. I should've put my aggression up from 'careful', maybe that'd help, but all in all I have to b pleased I got any points at all. The one I get from this match keeps me in the survival race. Unfortunate that Cube's draw against oddy also saw him drop a place. Oddy and Roostophe face off next week which'll make the title race interesting. Oh yeah, and my only two good defenders are both injured :P Damn...
  2. Sounds cool- just thought I'd say from what I remember the inside of the caff isn't too massive and didn't have all that many chairs and stuff, but there is a sheltered outter bit so it should be good It's the other side of the serpentine to the place I X'd on the map, but only a few mins walk either way.
  3. Today I made a list of Things I Need To Do Really Soon. I managed to tick off one thing on the list before the day was out, and that was the first thing I put on the list. "Make a list of things-that-I need-to-do-really-soon." And I watched about 4 movies and ate a stupid amount of chili peppers and drank some cider and stared at books longingly, but choosing the visual droning over the intercranial exercise. The Road is a really good book, btw. Propz to DareDan for the mentionings. Tomorrow I really ought to cross something else off my list. Germany, maybe. *laughs evilly*
  4. Fancy that! I've just pinched it from teh tubes today. Been watching A Fistful of Dollars, A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, as a sort of encore for my Clint Eastwood stint. The films get progressively longer, and after seeing Wolverine at the cinema they are refreshingly content as movies - that is to say, these films are in no hurry to tell you waht's going on, or to remind you of a character's name or try and affront you with some deep meaning - these are good westerns; films that rake in the grains of morality and don't pretend there's anything magic about the beans that grow from them. I mean, westerns just boil Men down to their basest forms, treading the line between man and animal. While "the man with no name" actually had a different name in each movie, and while Back to the Future ruined teh ending of the first one for me, there was still enough atmosphere and trademark-lines to ensure the trilogy lived up to its legendary status. I mean, the intro credits? The signature theme tunes? yeah. Awesome. Watched Schindler's List (and got confused, as always, between Neeson and Fiennes) and was almost brought to tears on a couple of occasions. Now I've got The Third Man, Apocalypse Now, Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, O Brother Where Art Thou, Raising Arizona, Miller's Crossing, Big Nothing and The Man Who Wasn't There to watch As you can tell, a bit of Linklater and Coens. Then I'm revisiting Lynch and Kubrik, then checking out the Clooney movies. THEN... I dunno.
  5. DAMN STRAIGHT. I just watched e10 and 11 and... my god, the guy was acting so, so, sooo badly throughout. I think his side of Dollhouse is by far the weakest element. Far too contrived and flukey too often. And we all love sierra because as a geek... she was damn hot.
  6. wt... variation?! You swine :P That's precisely what I did in the first, and-way-more-organised mtmu! I haven't made my mix yet. CD drive doesn't work anymore either! I will have to negotiate with flatmates to see if I can steal one of their laptops to burn.
  7. Coolness Bears, Dyson, Maase and Vicar haven't voted/talked in the 4 irl days since this in-game day started, and I've seen C_B and Dyson post elsewhere. RAISES SUSPICION INDEED! Not good.
  8. I think/hope that Gambit gets his own movie one day :P Any lack of explanation is likely to resolve in more in future moveis. I doubt X-Men: Origins will stop at wolfie.
  9. Well it's not over yet, unless you want it to be :P There's a beer/cider fest up at sheffield uni today which I'm contemplating going, but everyone is chucking dissertaion/money woes at me, so I may resort to a BBQ at a friends down the road. Trying to get a hold of the Dollars trilogy, as well as Schindler's List, The Third Man and Apocalypse Now. I've not seen any of these films for too many years, and I'm starting to forget them. EDIT: And she's not a piece on the side, she's the main course :P
  10. Saw Wolverine today. The entire film suffered from an attrocious script/storyline of cheesy hashcakes that just shat on everything. nami and I spent the entire 20-min walk home bitching about it, and we never ran out of things to say. So many things that were unnecessary, unexplained, contrived, useless, stupid, poor, evil, and just plain wrong. A few good action-y bits, but generally too much wolfie-purring. I would say that the acting was generally fine. The dude who plays gambit was in Friday Night Lights, so by default I loved the guy... but... god. Just... it angers me to think of this film.
  11. Woke up at 6am, went to town for 10am, bought two KNITTED jumpers and a couple of books, ate at wetherspoons and had an old bloke ask me what i was eating and how it was before resuming his paper, then played pool w/dan, nami, shorty and the 'ex' for a wee bit before seeing her off at the station, followed by some frisbee up the park, then some nandos for tea, then cinema (wolverine sucks) then some marvel action heroes thingey on teh xbox, and now I'm going to have a spliff and watch some tv stuff and read The Road. it's been a rather excellent day all-in-all. I know leeds uni fairly well, and while the campus is a small town of its own, you'll quickly notice that you only use the two libararies (one more than the other), one or two main buildings and... yeah. A doddle. It gets hectic during the summer, with every patch of green covered, but the city is writhing with students so clubs, bars and gigs are always happening. Buses, in my opinion, are nearly always full mind you, but really you'll never be more than a 30 min walk away from anywhere.
  12. Footballers are a good, easy place to start finding names. You're asking for, like, three different regions, soo... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:European_given_names :P
  13. You won't be allowed to smoke in your residence (though people may sneaky-window it) so asking for non-smokers is, frankly, ignorant, and you'll miss out on some AWESOM.
  14. I hear the independant has an excellent, non-biased, non-spin, non-paranoid article on the pandemic today. Considering only 13 people have contracted it in the UK (I think?), people should chill out. That's less than 1 in 5,000,000 practically...
  15. It is interesting that Gizmo has a power that makes people vote for him - but iirc, that's not a role a mafioso tends to have... So it's the double-vote and the not-voting-for-lazyboy that steers me to Tellyn. But I do agree taht Maase is also suspicious - a newspaper report from ages ago, combined with the post above... He needs to elaborate on his role methinks.
  16. I think voting for Maase is a good idea... But I have to follow my own theory and vote for Tellyn; his double-vote rubs me the wrong way.
  17. I do like oat-based cereals, but they need honey, or chopped bananas or raisins otherwise I feel like a horse. Jordan's country crisp is soo good. I could eat it all day. Last year I had a fry-up every breakfast. Hangover-tastic! But I mostly don't have breakfast because even when I buy the smallest loafs or the smallest milk, it goes off before I get round to using it all.
  18. I've totally danced to that in clubs *gets embarassed at memories* -- good call homie
  19. "Worst. Zoo. Ever." Ace :P Sooo.... the graphics look worse than the first game and most of that trailer, if not all of it, seemed to be cutscenes so it's hard to say if there's any new... anything, really. But gutsy to have planes going into buildings, I'd say.
  20. Yeah. I know enough people who've lost a parent to stop doing it now. "That's your mum, that is" was a joke from an old tv show that I forget the name of, and I thought he'd appreciate the joke. Alas! He's forgiven me now.
  21. I did it again. On facebook I posted "That's your mum, that is" and got the inevitable "my mum's dead." response. He'll forgive me but still, I'm an idiot. If it's not cancer, it's mums, and if it's not mums it's AIDS.
  22. haha - not so shrewd this time. I sorta threw in the towel before the game started; I didn't buy any of your old match reports, I just guessed away. I'm surprised you had cheating ticked considering it was an s7h7 ref! I've nearly got all of my players up to 100% match experience, which means I OUGHT to have a good change report when I go down this season. I figure/pray I'll be getting another 9pts out of the last run of games, which will leave me on 20pts. After my match against haden and ReZ's against dom, I will truly be in the relegation zone. Lower league is brilliantly competitive considering the amount of new teams. Made of Win vs. Secret United is the big one!
  23. Well these folk didn't vote for lazyboy; while the vote was done on a whim, mafia wouldn't have helped kill off their own. Coolness Bears Mundi not_so_tiny Tellyn Vicar Coolness's said he gets info when his power doesn't work... Aaand that's all I can remember. As for Tellyn voting Gizmo... well at the mo, that's... not a good thing to do.
  24. yep :P that's the one!
