  1. to go from 2-0 up to lose 3-2 is ridiculous. Curse this relegation battle! It's doing nasties to me nerves.
  2. what makes you say that it didn't cause the incident? There was no plane crashing before the bomb went off, was there?
  3. Up early! Not had much sleep, but need to be alert for the possible arrival of a DHL delivery. Turns out everyone's up so we're gonna plonk on the smallville finale! Then I predict I'll stay up 'til x11 results come out, then grab a nap before Dan Dare comes over tonight for CATAAAAN. We're so cool. As opposed to a random one? :P
  4. If you fall in love with a first album, then you will almost definitely have your heart broken by the second. If you were lucky enough to 'discover' the band after a coupla albums then good! You'll immediately appreciate that they've come from somewhere and that they're going somewhere else, so you'll be all the more tolerant of it.
  5. Dyson; just go for the plunge and get a new combo. Nobody ought to be remembered purely for their sigavo, aight?
  6. Dante; those answers weren't ever explicit in the show, so I'd consider them spoilers :P Mike; Rose and Bernard! What an odd thing to fling at an audience. It seemed to serve no point but raise a cheer from lostians who're always keen to see an old face. I think the smokey dude takes teh form of bodies that arrive to the island already dead (Eko's brother, christian, and Locke). If smokey has been these guys all along, then I think we are only correct in assuming that it was all part of his loophole in getting Jacob killed. After I finished the episodes I wondered whether we could be completely certain that the new 'baddie' wants jacob dead. This stems from an idea I had about Alpert a few episodes ago, although I don't think it works at all. Basically I figured that if you died in, say, the year 2421, and your body was taken to the island, then if the island was existing in any time period before 2421 then the spirit would be 'reincarnated', and unkillable until the island, too, reaches this year. So I figured that Alpert was maybe killed waaay into the future, and thus does not age, let alone die, until close to his time. Similarly, Jacob and smokey/blackey also actually 'died' a lot later, so they cannot be killed. Of course, this theory has less coherance now that we know a bit more about locke actually being dead and such. Makes us surely question Ben's role in the matter; maybe he always knew of the 'dark side'..? Well, either/any way; this show rocks simply because you can apply the word theory to it. I still have high hopes, and I honestly think it'll be quite tricky for them to fuck up the last season
  7. have you seen the other two films? I've not seen any of them yet.
  8. I don't know what you're complaining about, or why you're finding hassle with me. Well I do now, considering I've actually given you a reason, but before? Nope.
  9. Not done but want to do? Go to a music festival in a foreign country, absail down a cliff face, camp without a permit in the middle of a field. Threesome with dannii minogue and scarlet johanneson. Get a tattoo... Don't see why I can't do all in the same day tbf.
  10. I know, I'm an ass, but seeing as I corrected one person for the same thing I may as well say it here too; It's 'cue' in this context
  11. Rez, either you've posted those pics before or you have very similar weekends...
  12. Bye-bye, thread.
  13. Mundi; just to let you know, it's 'cue' in that context I hate the english language sometimes... Well I've not really been posting about my own life in here that much. My 'ex' and I have been spending lots of time in each other's company. She bought a tortoise. I don't know what's going on between us but I don't think we can call it anything because we both know she's moving back south soon and I want to stay here. I am now beyond the point of caring about my degree. Taint me now, else forever hold your silence, I say! I am anticipating awkward glimmers in the eyes of those who expected more from me, and slightly smug cheek twitching from those who always doubted me. I AM ALSO OUT OF WEED NOOOOOOOOOO
  14. With Mass Effect I'd given it a couple of attempts before, so on a third try I really got into it - went to every planet, got way too many ore deposits and so on. With Fallout 3 I had to stop at one point, and I went back to it two months later and was just utterly confused, lost, and distant from teh game. Instead of starting again i just lowered the difficulty :P
  15. I think that so long as it's not the last ever episode, I almost prefer it when they just give us more and more questions. My earlier prediction for s06 was for our losties to be trying to arrange the oceanic flight (215, 615, or whatever) to occur as it did. While we had Jacob sort of almost doing similar things with the losties, half the time he wasn't intervening, instead almost just making sure they saw his face. Black Rock must've been the boat at the start, so who knows what that means yet The actor playing the black-shirt at the start is excellent, and nearly always plays overly loyal, bastard types. He'll be back no doubt. So what of Locke calling the 'ghost' of Jack's dad Jacob earlier in the season? Can Jacob/Black Shirt Guy 'possess' the spirits of people who are dead when they arrive on the island? At what point did Ben even decide that he had to bring the losties all back to the island? I think that's what gets me the most; Ben's character is suddenly ignorant and confused, when he should always seem to have a plan. But anyway, small matter! Juliette surviving a ma-hoosive fall should be more tsk-worthy, as well as alpert saying to jack and sayid "we'll go the way we came" -- so he's going to take an unconscious woman through 90 seconds of underwater? Pfttle! Er... yeah! Felt more like an extended single episode rather than two episodes, content-wise. Perfectly happy with them introducing the few new characters for next season, and ever-eager to see how it unfolds
  16. For the next night phase to commence, all players must post in the thread during the day period, unless otherwise stated. Basically, if someone hasn't posted then I'll PM them, and if after a period of time (24 hours most likely) they haven't responded or posted in teh thread, then I'll simply write them out of the game. Jimbob; I strongly recommend you read over a finished mafia game to get a basic grasp. I'm aiming to make this game a bit different to the usual so a general understanding will be helpful
  17. Well that's over a month away so cool your jets for now :P Ok, I've come up with the concept, just working on the character kinks. I'm going to try and make this a little more complex than usual, which should give people more to do, while hopefully not breaking the whole fucking thing! To start with ; can everyone playing please send me a PM with the alignment you wish to have for the game. Follow me with this
  18. I loved the animal lines from the old albums, too! But think about the trash in teh alleyway, watching trains go by, or the cracked and dirty plates, the torches together... I preferred the animals as part of this whole world of intricate meaning, where the larger focus is on how these meanings are projected by the narrator - instead this album says "look, the meaning is projected by god through all of us, so who are we to try and shade any meaning?" which is meant to be a sort of moral conclusion by the narrator, but instead the quantious questions asked over the 3 previous albums are never answered. That sudden last jump into God's faithful arms is a lot to ask for an agnostic audience. There's a clash, spiritually, that I won't be able to overcome with the album. I can still listen to it and admire it, but I don't think it will become entwined with my world view like the otheres are. I liked the angst, the darker emotions and the subtler approach to experimenting with their music, but I also respect the music they have created with this new album. Maybe one day I'll like it more :P As for this being their last album? I think I've just been reading speculating fans around the web for a few months - nothing concrete
  19. SIX AND A HALF WEEKS WITHOUT CIDER OR SMOKES OR GAMES TO LOOK AT AND NOT PLAY?! Totally not worth it :P
