Hmm true... I think the only thing I need to worry about in this game is trying not to die as much. :p Regarding levelling up, which parameters should I - quite literally - pour my souls into? My character is the basic 'default' class.

    Dark Souls

Well I'm currently playing this again, gradually progressing, spurred on by some of your success stories... playing online for the moment but will be playinf offline in a bit. Regarding the bonfires... what are the 'Kindle' and 'Reverse Hollowing' options? Are they even useful?
  3. I'm not concerned... mainly because I pre-ordered it almost the moment it became available, plus Game suck and ShopTo are awesome, they'll come through... you'll see.

    Dark Souls

So... I've played for about 3 hours and I've died a lot! but it was to be expected really... Kind of stuck though, I'm at the first 'main' part after you 'escape' the first training section if I go up, I get killed by something and can't progress, if I go down then I get killed by something else and can't progress... fun. Any tips are appreciated, other than the obvious 'stop sucking at the game!' :p

    Dark Souls

My copy arrived today but I haven't had a chance to play it yet due to work but I shall give it a try in a bit... ... the artwork in the collectors edition is disturbingly lovely btw.
  6. Yesterday when skim-reading the forum I mistook this thread for being the previous 'Steve Jobs steps down...' ...only this morning did I actually stop, read and realise. While I don't generally buy Apple products as a rule... the only thing I bought was an iPod years ago which now only serves as my alarm clock but damn, best alarm clock ever as it actually wakes me up in the morning! So for that reason I am thankful to Steve Jobs on a personal level. But yes we should all be thankful for the reasons that have already been stated as he contributed greatly to the industry and even shaped what it has become today. My thoughts are with his family though as I can't even begin to imagine their feeling of loss... R.i.P Steve Jobs And I mean that literally as the man must have worked until the day he died despite going through such an ordeal, but at least now he can truly take a well-earned rest even though it's hardly any consolation.
  7. Happy Birthday Strider!

Mine also should be arriving tomorrow - god help me - I have a question though regarding the unique online system... What happens when you play it online for a bit and then play it offline for a bit, does it matter? For instance the way in which you can touch any splatter of another players blood to see their demise and learn from it... does that only work when you're connected or does it periodically update things like that while you're online and retain them even if you lose connection?
  9. This is precisely why I pre-ordered the moment I found out ShopTo were stocking the ltd ed because no matter if it's £75 or £95 the fact that it's strictly limited and that it sold out so quickly means that it will almost certainly retain its value... ... not that I'd ever sell it of course.

    Dark Souls

Ordered this yesterday... I've never played Demon Souls but being that this clearly superior sequel is out on both formats I decided to take the plunge. I am ready for everything in this game to carve my ass up, hand it to me on a plate and make me eat it! :p
  11. Happy Birthday!
  12. Precisely why I've placed my pre-order now, to secure my copy... I'll pay for it either when it lowers or when it ships.

    Dark Souls

Hmm is the day 1 edition every copy of the game that gets shipped on launch day or is it strictly limited?
  14. Hell yeah... wait what? £97.85... ... *orders* Don't judge me... :p
  15. This gives me hope that ShopTo will be stocking the ltd ed with any luck and that is when I shall pre-order.
  16. Happy Birthday Adthegreat!
  17. So... what you're saying is either, it's like EA's pass system - buy game new, get code for free to access multiplayer, pre-owned have to buy a code - or buy game new, have to buy code to play multiplayer.
  18. As in just another beta? Or when you buy the game you only get the single player... which would be fail, even though I'd still buy it as it's the single player that really sells Uncharted for me.
  19. Happy Belated Birthday Mokong!
  20. Indeed the frags are most definitely satisfying, I find them to be the icing on the cake however as almost all of the weapons have a somewhat substantial feel to them from the realistic feel of the chainsaw bayonet on the Lancer to the precision and power of the Boltok Pistol making it all feel worthwhile.
  21. Happy Birthday Mr Odwin! May your day be odd but full of win... :p
  22. Well... tbh I was on the fence regarding IloMilo so I probably won't get that but The Maw is a game that I have only heard good things about, I happen to really enjoy all the other games by its developer Twisted Pixel who are responsible for Splosion Man, Comic Jumper, Ms Splosion Man and most recently The Gunstringer. I've been a fan of their work since Splosion Man but only after playing that was I aware that they created The Maw and so I had always promised myself that if the game were ever to get reduced in price again that I'd purchase it, which I have now done as I picked up a 2100 points card today along with The Gunstringer. As for Trials HD... a similar kind of story as I've been aware of its reputation for some time but I'd never downloaded it, recently though the developer RedLynx were kind enough to gift me a copy of MotoHeroz on WiiWare - in exchange for a review, coming soon - which is a similar kind of game only involving dirt buggies instead of bikes so I'm only now seeing what I've been missing out on so I'll get it now while its cheap and if I get addicted to it - very likely from what I hear - I may ask RedLynx nicely about the possibility of getting a code for Trials Evolution when it comes out in exchange for some good PR but we shall see... going to get my MotoHeroz review finished soon in any case if I can tear nyself away from the online challenges for long enough. :p
  23. Presumably the sale is on until Sunday? If so then I'll grab a few of those titles later because at those prices it'd be rude not to. The Maw, Trials HD and IloMilo for me I think.
  24. Happy Birthday Everyone!
  25. I used to cycle to and from work, did this for about a year and a half... ... until I had an accident, now I don't ride anymore unfortunately but have a brand new electric bike sitting in the garage - was the only way the insurance company would pay up - and am considering selling it as I'm hoping to get a car when I pass my test. Cycling is great though and I'd still recommend it highly, I'd still be riding my bike if things had turned out differently but nevermind.
