And for those times when something in the match goes wrong, just use this classic... Seriously though, good on you Serebii for giving it a go, things will surely only get better for next time. : peace:

The Super Smash Bros Series Daily Challenges Thread
S.C.G replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Oh boy... I've been waiting for an excuse to dig out my original copy of Super Smash Bros ever since I started putting box protectors around my collection, time to dig it out! I know what I'll be playing this evening then! : peace: -
I think the problem is that like me, @Fused King can't help but compare every Mario RPG to the high standards set by Paper Mario The Thoousand Year Door because arguably overall it hasn't been surpassed, in fairness I don't think it ever will be though. That's not to say that I'd instantly dismiss all other Mario RPG's but... recently I haven't felt the need to rush out and buy many of the newer titles from DS and onward, in fact in some cases the VC re-releases will be my first time trying some of them out. Anyway, so long as the game is good that's the main thing but I get the point that sometimes the best examples turn out to be the RPG's which have completely new settings as sometimes they can allow for greater creative scope, other times the developers manage to work very well with what they are given though so credit to them either way. : peace:

I haven't played this game... at all! As in, I bought it on release, loaded the game up while I was out, got as far as looking around some of the town and that's it! I'm actually really disappointed in myself as usually I'd be right on a game like this, but just so much to catch up with as it's a busy time for games. Perhaps I'll play it today, so I might just be up for some games later if anyone will have me fight alongside them... Is there anything I need to do before I'm "allowed" online by the game?
-
While I didn't berate them for it, I did at least state that... Also... I decided to leave it at that because I am of a similar opinion to yourself in thinking that they are "perfect timeslices" as you say, what I meant is that it's just good to see Nintendo keeping these titles alive for future generations but at the same time it might open up the possibility of us seeing new Light Gun games again, be that as part of a mini-game collection again as in Wii Play or perhaps a standalone eShop title. : peace: It would be nice to have a new light gun game from Nintendo at some point surely? But failing that I'd at least like to experience all of the light gun titles they made available for both the NES and SNES at the very least. Gumshoe needs a VC release for certain now.

@nekunando over 4 mins?!? I think I'll just leave my submission of just over a minute and have done with it! Well played though! : peace: -
That's a really detailed analysis of the multiplayer features, I feel as if I know more about it but can't help but feel a summarised version would help get the information across easier. But I get the general idea of it I think which is good. : peace:

That's better! Today I managed to destroy the practice catcher by getting all the badges twice over! : peace: Aadly not one of those twelve badges contained any bonus plays so I was left with just the one, also my dummy badge total at the time went up to nineteen so at least those nine dummy badges will carry over until tomorrow so I'm almost certainly going to get a free play tomorrow whatever happens. Because I did so well on the practice catcher I played the machine for real - but not REAL as in real money - and got every badge apart from Luigi... I might just be trying that machine again tomorrow before Weegee disappears. : peace:

Oh wow, that was a really beautifully made video. : peace: I know it sounds daft but just watching that made me feel as if I knew Iwata on a more personal level. It also brought me to tears again... I feel that in some ways you never really appreciate just how much you admire and respect someone until they are gone. Satoru Iwata was certainly a rare being of exceptional talent, he emanated emotional warmth to those around him and always excelled in doing the right thing for the company; especially within the last few years. His legacy will certainly live on within the hearts of many gamers, developers and those who knew him personally.

My fairly poor first attempt... Didn't even finish it! I may try again later. : peace: -
Well, you get bonus points for having the Sega Megadrive/Mega CD theme at least. It's rather splendid isn't it? : peace:
-
I wish I hadn't looked at those... At least a handful of sets I actually want.
-
I knew that F-Zero GX wasn't going to sell well at the time, but that still didn't stop me buying it when it came out and getting a lot of enjoyment out of it. Really I don't know why Nintendo just don't re-release it with HD visuals and a robust online mode and sell it for £10 less than normal retail price, it would sell... probably... I'd buy it again anyway. It's the same with Mario Tennis for me, the N64 version on the Wii U VC would be enough for me personally. : peace: Of course I'm all for new installments of Mario Tennis but only if they actually bring something good to the table.
-
I was going to ask this as well because I can't quite fathom why they did it? Isabelle from Animal Crossing has... how much to do with Metroid? Nintendo's basically trolling us. I managed to get two badges today, with three plays... not amazing but ah well, they were free plays so. : peace:

Noooooooooo! It... it can't be true!

The N-Europe Super Smash Bros Anniversary Tourney signup thread!
S.C.G replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
May I sign up for Fun and Crazy Smash please? Around 9PM for both should work. I would sign up for Glory as well but it's not really my thing plus I'm back to work this week so on Saturday I might not get home until gone 9PM so I wouldn't even be able to take part until 10PM for that one, so it's probably best I just stick with Sunday and Monday. : peace: -
I'm certainly buying this at launch, will I be playing on day 1? I hope so, but I have so many other games to finish including half of Xenoblade Chronicles... it could happen, I'd like to be able to say "I'm ready!" on launch day but only time will tell. : peace:
-
I can understand wanting the badges, I'm not about to judge anyone for paying real money for them, especially if it's a badge of a character you're a really big fan of; so it's all good. : peace: Metroid, Star Fox, Zelda Majora's Mask, F-Zero... all of those badges would almost push me to breaking point I'm sure. Then... if they start adding badges for consoles! NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Game Boy! ... I really need to stop giving Nintendo more ideas in how to seperate me from my money.
-
I was close to the temptation, for a split-second but then I thought... nah! It's only an 8-bit Mario badge... Wait until the Metroid badges get released though. If Sega ever released one of these pieces of software as well, I'm almost certain I wouldn't be able to resist spending money.
-
It's got to be an error... I mean it would have been a steal at HALF a gigabyte but two WHOLE ones?!? I'll take ten!
-
At that price I thought it wise to order one even though I already have one. Then if this doesn't happen... I could at least use the adapter with my PC, I'm sure it works with drivers, at that price it's probably cheaper than other adapters, plus, 4 ports... always useful.
-
Awful practice catcher today, most of the free practice plays turned out to be a waste, I got three dummy badges, too me up to ten, one real go, tried for the "stopped in his tracks" Mario badge as it was the last day for it, didn't even grab it as it hit the side first. Still... there's always tomorrow! : peace: Not a single play purchased to date.
-
In comparison to this? I'd recommend it ten times over. : peace: In general... I'd recommend it anyway.
