General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

I agree that list is not good, but you can probably add Mario Kart on to the end of it and Smash Bros not all that far behind. And Nintendo will spring a few surprise games I'm sure. It's not over, the Wii U will soldier on, it's just the third party [exclusives] situation is more worrying than ever, because at least the N64 and Gamecube had that, and those exclusives made an awfully big difference. -

The thing that frustrates me is that at some point within a year or two of launch the PS4 will be backward compatible with pretty much the entire PS1/PS2/PS3 backcatalogue. Where as Nintendo puts out the same 10 NES games at launch and a few SNES games and thinks it's virtual console job is done. An extensive list of N64 games should already be on the console with Gamecube games announced and ready to go any day now. -
Apparently there's a Man of Steel prequel comic...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Directors Cut

Exactly!!Mokong I think you might need to get yourself a PS3 on the cheap so you can play Theif when it comes out! Good times will be had if Deus Ex is anything to go by! Yeah I think a stealth run first will be the way to go and then I can kick ass with a fully powered up Jenson on future runs! I presume it takes places during The Docks and Singapore? If it does that'll be very cool, and a great change of setting! Yeah I'm wondering if I just go for a hard from from the get go now I know I can do it :p But then it would be easier with all my augs. I guess.Panchaea was tough! Stealthing through corridors and rooms of crazies, trying to keep my cloaking device topped up with nutrient bars, but not knowing how many I could get away with using as I didn't know what was to come! Luckily that internal bridge on Panchaea had that gangway running along the side you could drop down on to, so I could save using it for parts! Great to have a game that's rewarding for several playthroughs due to there being so many ways to do things! @Mokong Check out 1:30 :p -

I think it's only because this forum has been on hypersensitive mode lately. There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter and rib-poking between members. -
Yep I have to say it's very much on mine too! It's really worthwhile watching that IGN gameplay video even if you just skip through it, the game not only looks amazing visually, but looks scary too! The gameplay footage they show nearer the end when you actually see the Alien and it gets them was tense stuff! The way the cover system works looks really intriguing! I guess you hold a trigger button to lock yourself in a position and then use an analogue stick to interact with the cover. Looks fantastic!

I watched the last 10 mins or so, because stream was terrible for me when it started, but SONY are bloody exciting! Wow was the buzzword, and wow indeed at some of the stuff they showed off!

Everyone's bound to be skeptical of this off the back of Colonial Marines, but this is a different team and is very much a survival horror... Few pieces from IGN's write-up Gameplay

Thanks man! Mind you, I guess Gone Home and The Stanley Parable are best played with a mouse, but it's good to know I can potentially use it for games I feel would be more comfortable with a controller. I'm pretty excited to start trying some PC games.

I'm the same!! I haven't just got a shiny new Macbook Air :p... but the other week was the first time I'd ever taken a look on the Steam website, after hearing about and wanting to find out how to play Gone Home and The Stanley Parable. I signed up to Steam but still need to download it. I couldn't believe how cheap some games were on the website and all the sales they have going on! Tomb Raider was a couple of quid or something! I'd still look to play that sort of game on a console, because the thought of playing it on my laptop seems strange to me... however I did find I could of course hook my laptop up to the TV with HDMI, but it still doesn't quite seem right somehow. However, there are of course PC games I'd like to play, the two I mentioned for example, and other Indie games past and in the future. So I have a question... can I use my PS3 controller to play such games, either on my laptop or through the TV? How do people best play these games on their laptops?

COMPLETED!! (although really that's a sadface as it's such a great game I'd rather it didn't end!) with Trophies Pacifist Foxiest of the Hounds -
Mario 64 does start to lag bit in the middle I think doesn't it with the likes of Hazy Maze Cave, Snowman's Land, Wet Dry World... but if you were to plough through those, Tall Tall Mountain, Tiny-Huge Island, Tick Tock Clock and Rainbow Road would await!

OK I'm at Panchaea... shit just got crazy!! I'm SO curious now as to how differently the last few scenes might have played out if I hadn't made a certain decision I did in China... -

Loving this game! Have just done the Convention Center stuff, and have just landed back at Sarif Industries. In what respect? The little T crosshair is always there right? Unlike the stun gun for example where the reticle will turn red when in range, the tranq rifle just doesn't have one. Basically if you can see the person you can snipe them... however, sometimes a dart doesn't hit even when you think you have a direct line, presumably because it just clips something in very close range like a grill or the object you're sniping from. -
Really love the bright bold colours of Melee! The 3DS version seems to be the most similar to this, with the Wii U version being a bit of a middle ground depending on the character. Brawl was a bit too gritty and drab for me. Melee FTW.

My console history has been: Amiga N64 Dreamcast Gamecube DS Wii PS3 (Gameboy, Gameboy Colour, GBA, DS, 3DS) In the past I had a strong allegiance to Nintendo, a Nintendo fan boy I suppose really. The Dreamcast wowed me with it's line-up and being the first console of it's kind and coming long before Nintendo's own efforts with the Gamecube, so that's why I picked up that console. However I was very much against Sony in the past, the feel of their console and games. Just the vibe they gave off as a company, I just didn't like them! However a couple of years ago all that changed. For some reason I began to look at Sony differently and I think that was purely a result of the PS3 itself and what I saw it was doing. Sony suddenly seemed a completely different company to me, they seemed friendly, they seemed to be about great games, great variety, great exclusives and games I couldn't get elsewhere. I got a completely different feeling from the PS3 than I had the PS1 and PS2. Whilst I'd fleeted with the Dreamcast I was very much a Nintendo gamer, however now I am just a gamer ... I am even now looking to start downloading and playing some PC games. I don't have a Wii U yet and I am beginning to miss some of that Nintendo magic you get from playing their games and consoles and as a result of this I will be getting a Wii U at some point. However I'm now much more about going where the great games are, including Wii U, PS4 and PC in the future.

The US are getting Bioshock Infinite in January, should hopefully mean we'll get it in the next couple of months!
