I think he and @Blade are engaged already.

Oh man, I hope that you enjoy it. I really, really love the game. Maybe we should try to organise a few games at some point. I've played with the N-E crowd and they're an awesome bunch. @Sheikah in particular is really helpful.

Had a lovely catch-up with @Ashley yesterday in London! I was there on a course anyway, so we organised to meet up and go out for a few drinks before I had to hop on the train back to Bournemouth. The only downside was that both of us were full of cold. I've definitely been feeling it today! But, it was worth it and nice to catch up.

Uber loses its license to operate in London
Fierce_LiNk replied to Happenstance's topic in General Chit Chat
Hmm. Part of me is a bit dubious that this was done to get rid of the Black Taxi's competition. The other side of me can see and understand the security and safeguarding implications of Uber. So, I get it and am not surprised, but am still sceptical. -
I am now at home with the cats for the first time. Yaaay! Aya is lazy and just wants to sit and sleep and eat. Ico is quite playful and runs around a lot. Both are adorable.

It's a pretty insane story. How did the fans get hold of the tickets? I'm assuming (based on some reports) that a large number of Arsenal fans have sold their tickets. If that's the case, that's pretty terrible. From a fan's perspective, if you have the opportunity to get a ticket to a big game, you'd go for it.

What the fuck? Apparently, 20,000 Cologne fans turned up at the Emirates when there was only an allocation for 2,900 away tickets. How has that happened? Apparently there are loads of Cologne fans in the stadium and can be found in the home sections. Crazy. Will be amazed if this doesn't get called off.

I`ll look it up now in a second! Hove, actually. That`ll never get old. I haven`t been to Brightonia in months. Need to meet up for a pint, I feel!
-
Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay. Where are you living now? Brighton still?
-
Champions league! How I've missed you. Good performance tonight, especially from Fellaini!

Never bought or played that game. Will it look a bit dated by now or will it hold up well?
-
DisN-Eyland. Oh my god, guyyyyys.

Yeah, bad news today guys. The cats aren't available to picked up today and it's going to be at some point during the week. Most likely midweek. We got the phone call yesterday. It was not the anniversary present we wanted.
-
That's just brilliant. Really looking forward to this! Can someone explain how that deals work now where you get the previous South Park game, too? I want both games. Do you have to buy them digitally in order to get both?

Yeah, we went to look at ours twice, too. Seems a sensible thing to do and plus you get a good feel for what sort of improvements you need to do to it and can total that up in your head. We knew that the carpets needed to go and that it definitely needed modernising in lots of areas. Essentially, you're buying a frame or layout. Virtually nothing in this house is the same now! The walls were papered and painted, the carpets ripped up and replaced by laminate flooring, the furniture is all ours and new, the plugs were all converted from singles to doubles, the light switches were replaced and quite a fair bit more than that, too. It's already a far superior house than the one we bought.

We had our 9 year anniversary yesterday! Celebrated by going to our favourite Indian restaurant down here and overdosed on starters. The meat samosas are just so fucking goooood. Peshwari naan was perfect too and one of the best that I've ever had. Those samosas though...mmm. Next year is the big one, though. Might need to do something a bit more special for that.

Hmm, United could (and probably should) have won that game. It was a great game up until 2-2 and then Stoke clearly decided to settle for a point. They defended really well, so it was a point well earned for them. Didn't quite have it in them to break them down and get the third goal. A point away at Stoke is a good point, but it could have been a better result. Lukaku had a great chance to score a second goal and didn't make a good connection. Kinda knew at that point that it was going to be "just" a draw.

You could technically be looking for ages because surely there will always be a "better house" out there. We knew we wanted our previous flat (renting) and that was our first viewing. We saw three or four more after that and they were all shit in comparison in almost every way. We could have kept looking for months, but if you've already found the one that you like, then sometimes it is just better to go with your gut. I remember walking in to that flat and knew pretty much straight away that it was perfect for our situation at that point. I had a very similar feeling when we went house hunting. It's like that typical thing people do when they go on holiday and decide to go out for food. Yes, this restaurant is good, but there miiiiiiight be a better one in that direction.

L.A. Noire - PS4 - XONE - Switch - November 14th

Never played this. It looked quite interesting when it first came out, so could be worth a go. -
What is the incentive for the other leagues to do the same thing? Liverpool would be in no better position under this new rule. Coutinho will still have his head turned by Barcelona and the bigger clubs will still throw massive amounts of money to get deals done. The only way that this will work is if you have all European leagues starting at the same time, ending at the same time and with the transfer window the same throughout Europe. This just hinders clubs buying, not selling.

I do think that's part of an English mentality, though. All about not "losing" the game or making a mistake. Rather than going for a goal to make it 3-1, we try and keep the ball to stop it becoming 2-2 if a mistake is made. It's almost a pessimistic mindset. I can't say that I'm a fan of it. If there's a counter, my brain tells me that it should result in a chance at goal. Football is an attacking game, so if you've got an opportunity to attack, you should go for it.
-
I wonder if that's a coaching thing, because I'm noticing traits that the players don't really show at club level. Are they being told that you have to keep the ball more at international level? If so, I kinda get it. But, it's not really worked for long periods of tonight. Second half has been better, though.

Has Oxlade-Chamberlain always been this greedy?
-
Yeah, can't really argue with that. There's not a lot of trust between the players, either. It looks at times like the won't play their teammates in because they're worried the chance will come to nothing. Looking at these players, I do think that there is potential for a good team there. The tactics don't seem to be working and there's no style to the play.

England 1-0 down against Slovakia due to an early goal. As I type that, Dier scores for England! 1-1. Great goal.
