Six figure savings? Jesus Titty Christ. None of those figures belong in the penny columns, right?

Word, a really soft penalty that one was. Again, that's not being discussed anywhere. I find it weird how the press were all over the Kompany red card, but the decisions in these two games are not being talked about anywhere at all. Chelsea only won thanks to that penalty, too.

I'm not saying he was garbage at all. If his touch was awful and he kept booting the ball out of play, then I would've said he was garbage. However, he hardly had the ball, despite making good runs and moving well without the ball. That doesn't make him garbage at all. Stewart Downing, on the other hand, IS garbage. Has the ball on a regular basis, does nothing with it. As for Carroll being man of the match...no.

It's not wise to do that. Your body needs rest and recovery. I couldn't function exercising/working out 7 days a week...reeeest. At least, not doing the same type of exercise 7 days straight. I find that when playing football, I can run and cover a lot of ground, get really into it and stuff. However, when going out for a jog or a run, my body seems to be aware of it, and as such my calves tend to feel it after not too long. I know I can go for longer, but the burning in my calves means no. It's a shame.

Aliens: Colonial Marines - Stop your grinnin' and drop your linen

Yeessss, homeboy. AvP2 nailed the atmosphere perfectly. This seems like it was made with a lot of love. I just hope that it doesn't spectacularly blow. What worries me is that the release date just seems to be going further and further back. -

Yeah, man. It's an awesome OST. I have to laugh at the whole teaser trailer thing. Me and Joe have a long running joke where we think this will never come out, it seems to be taking forever. Trailers like this don't help...a teaser trailer for a game we've seen a little bit of and know about for some time? Cmaaan. Just release it already. -
Welbeck wasn't garbage at all. He has been great for us this season and he doesn't function that well as a lone striker. It's obvious he plays better in a two-man attack, he needs a partner. No support and no service means any striker would find it hard. Valencia is brilliant, but got man-marked out of the game in the second half. This should've given more licence for Giggs and Park to go forward more, but we missed a trick there. Including all of those players would mean an entirely different game. For a start, the system would be completely different for both teams. It doesn't really mean a lot when people say "it would be different if so and so is available" because it doesn't necessarily mean the game would have played out in the same way.

I hate this game sometimes. It just doesn't seem logical. I thought I'd go with a 3-4-3 at home and prepared my formation and tactics which counter-acted the other team. I guessed their formation and chose to protect the centre, when they chose to use through plays. Yet, I lose 1-0, at home, to a penalty. Just...urgh. Considering I battered that team 4-1 away, I'm disappointed.

Ray Wilkins is pretty terrible, I agree. He doesn't seem like he enjoys football. Anyway, it just seems odd that those two incidents are not being mentioned anywhere. They seemed like talking points to me...it definitely would've been picked up on Sky. It's disappointing to go out of the competition, but then we also need to focus on the league. This may help us kick on in the latter half of the season. Still don't think we deserved to lose that game, a narrow victory to United would've been a fair result, or a draw even. But, we gave away two soft goals, so I'm disappointed.

Supporting the player is one thing, which I wouldn't have had much of a problem with, considering he's a Liverpool player and the fans would want to chant his name. (although, maybe there's an argument that would fans really want to chant the name of somebody charged with that, but that's for a different day) It was just disappointing really and I felt for Evra. The Downing one looked worse as it looked like he jumped into it. It looked like the ref was going for a card with the Maxi one but he got taken off pretty quickly. ITV were just terrible for the coverage all game, it was very flat. As a football fan, you want to see those big moments again and get "into" the match. The coverage just seemed like "Here's a game of football...watch it." Neville is brilliant as a pundit. Really am proud of him. He knows the game really well and doesn't try to talk about something he doesn't understand. I'm also growing to like Lee Dixon, and he makes very good points. He also doesn't repeat himself like some of the other guys do or try to push their own agenda. He's very straight-forward.

Pretty disappointed with the game. I thought United looked the better team for the majority of it but we didn't create enough chances in the final third. I would've taken off Giggs instead of Scholes, because we looked light in midfield once he went off. The momentum shifted towards Liverpool then. Thought Giggsy had one of his quieter days. Thought Evra did really well today considering the crowd who were on his back. I watched the game with a mate who is a Spurs fan, and he said he didn't understand why a player who was racially abused is being booed at a game. It's bizarre. Thought he did ok considering that, but he was partially at fault for the winner. De Gea didn't do himself any favours today. Could've done better with both goals, although it would've had to have been a good save to push away Kuyt's goal. Lindegaard is looking like the keeper for the now, and De Gea might be one for the future. He should've done better. Also, I found it odd how ITV didn't go into much detail regarding the Maxi and Downing challenges in the second half. Both didn't look like pretty tackles. I've only seen them during the game because I can't find footage anywhere, but the Downing one in particular looked like it should've been a red card. My Spurs supporting mate was quick to say it was a red, and we both called it there and then. In general, I thought ITV's coverage was really poor, whereas the BBC and SkySports would've replayed incidents (even good tackles) so we could see them again. Anyway, well done, Liverpool.

Seen that before, but it really is a great point. Some of the toys aimed at girls are horrendous. I don't think we've seen any real progress there. The only progress we possibly have is with computer/videogames that are more accessible to girls than perhaps they were before.
-
I'm not really an expert on the subject, but wouldn't it be better to give the child everything that is "available for the opposite gender" as well? For example, instead of just solely giving the boy an action man figure, why not allow it play with "girl's toys", too. In fact, isn't it a bit cruel to deny these kids to play with toys anyway? They're fun, quite interactive and its good for their imagination. I thought about maybe gender-less/unisex clothing, but I'm not sure if it exists for kids. That's a potential idea. Or, why not just allow it access to both girl's and boy's clothing? That seems to be more gender-neutral, rather than purposefully dressing up the kid as the opposite sex. That doesn't seem gender-neutral to me. Saying that, the majority of toys "designed for girls" are pretty shit. I've spent quite a bit of time helping out in nurseries and reception classes, and the girls just end up playing with the boys stuff anyway. So, maybe there's more to it than that. Edit: I've only skim-read the article because I'm tired, so if the Mother is doing that (allowing him to wear both), then that's fine.

I wasn't banking on you choosing that formation, aha. Although, I did go a bit LEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOY with the formation and tactics. Still, 4-1 is harsh...think having the man sent off made it worse. Also, I set my tactic to "tighten centre", so a bit meh that it didn't work when I think maybe it should have. :/ A good game, nonetheless. Its crazy how we both ended up with 4 stars...how did I end up with a 4 star rating and a player in the Xpert team, whilst getting a man sent off and getting thrashed away from home?

I was joking about Kuyt, hence the striker on the wing comment and wink.

Young was on fire at the start of the season. He had a loss of form and a bad injury, but he looks very good in a United shirt. Valencia has been nothing short of first class since he's joined. He has 8 assists already, and managed 7 in his first season at the club. Last season was blighted by bad injuries. Currently, he's one of my favourite United players and great both defensively and offensively. (certainly better than Johnson defensively, and probably Bale, too) You're over-rating Johnson a touch there. He looks good and has a lot of promise, but he's not made it at City in the same way that Bale has made it at Spurs, or Valencia at United. It's a shame, as I think he should be starting every week. Walcott vs Lennon is an on-going debate, but the truth is that they haven't fulfilled their initial promise. Of the two, I prefer Lennon. All of the above are better than Stewart Downing and Dirk "Striker on the Wing" Kuyt, mind.
-
Hmm, I don't agree with that. Bale is brilliant, and Adam Johnson is a good player, but even he doesn't get much of a look in with that City squad. What about Nani, Valencia and Young? All are pretty consistent (I'm sure it's Valencia's middle name) whilst Nani has struggled for some time to gain that consistency, but is there now, imo. Then, there's the likes of Matt Jarvis who I like quite a bit. Gutierrez for Newcastle who has been brilliant at times. There's Aaron Lennon who I admit plays in phases, but on his day is really quite something special. There's also Silva and Nasri, who are good attacking players who can play on the wing, but I'm not sure if I'd count them as wingers. Same with Mata really. Flourant Malouda has it in him, although he's been off the boil for a while. Shame as he looked pretty awesome not too long back.
-
They both should receive bans. Lescott's is definitely the more clear cut of the two, since it's so obvious what he's doing. As for the Theo Walcott debate: I can't believe he's only 22 still. Feels like he's been around forever. There's still plenty of time for him, but he seems to have stopped developing, imo. I don't think many teams are terrified when he has the ball, whereas others are more cautious when Nani or Valencia have it. They're both more consistent.

Dude, you're just pissed because they didn't make Samus out to be this emotionless, bland, lonesome warrior, the female equivalent of Conan the Barbarian. I don't really see why people have such a problem with the portrayal. It's obvious that there's a person under that suit who has seen a lot of crazy things...particularly her encounters with Ridley, Mother Brain, seeing the baby metroid born and then killed. It gave some more substance to the character. Back to Skyward Sword, I probably won't play anymore until the weekend. Gonna be busy. I take it there's still quite a bit to do before the final encounter?
-
Yeah, I'd say have you done at times, but then a game like today is a different matter, I guess. The thing with Tottenham is that because they play good football, they're going to be expected to play good football for every game. Whereas, some games will need to be closed and tight for most of the 90 mins. Smash and grab type games. There was a classic one where United did that to Liverpool a few years back, with John O'Shea getting the winner. They're the games which can win you titles. City have a big cheque book, but people said the same about Chelsea, too. Every team is beatable, I believe that. It's been shown many times already this season. At least in this league anyway. Their squad may change a little bit here and there, but they won't be able to buy every available striker and midfield because they'll run out of room. This forward line is the one we'll see for some time, I imagine. I can't see the midfield altering much, particularly the centre with Yaya Toure and Silva playing there. There's only so much room for players and many won't like to come and just sit on the bench.

Hmm, I found Other M to be easy to control somehow. It was very intuitive, like with the sense move and with the speed booster/spineshark. The only criticism would be that you couldn't use missiles unless you were in first person mode, but I could accept that. The simplicity of both schemes make it fun, yet its ease of access. I found the Skyward Sword controls to be easy to use and fun, as well. But, the issues I have with that game are not related to the controls. Super, Fusion and Other M just have very interesting ways of storytelling. Gradually, I'm beginning to find the Metroid series much more exciting and eventful than the Zelda series.

Playing great football is important. But sometimes you have to go another route to win games. Winning ugly, which is what many consider an attribute that Arsenal lack in recent years, yet essential to win a title. Take today's game for example. It's great for the neutrals, but I'm sure many Spurs fans would happily trade it for a messy 1-0 win. That'll be the learning curve for Spurs, imo. Finding ways to win games from somewhere. The first thing on their agenda has to be bringing in another striker. City could bring on Balotelli who changed the game, whereas Adebayor who has been very influential was unable to play today. So, that's the area I think Spurs need to improve. Once they crack that, I reckon they'll be in with an even greater shout. They're just missing that, imo.
