Hmm, I would argue that Galaxy has to be up there. It really is something special. Other M is like a 3D version of Fusion, and I love it. Fusion is good, but it's on a totally different level to Super. The level design in Super is...insane compared to Fusion. It's much more expansive, or rather it seems that way.

Hmm, it's not that. If anything, the controls are a triumph and really do add something to the game for me. However, the boss fights themselves have been a bit of a let down. Apart from the 2nd and 4th dungeon boss, who were both awesome, the rest have been a bit cack. But, the game has moments where it just promises something but doesn't quite deliver. Like the dungeon I just mentioned, fairly cool, but then it finishes in an un-exciting way. The bosses in Twilight Princess trounce these by quite some distance. I don't see how anyone can disagree with that.

I've played some more of this, and have just finished the 6th dungeon.

Super Metroid is just an incredible game. You're never specifically told where to go, what to do, whats happening, etc. You teach yourself. That article was a great read, and it really shows you just how intricately designed the game is. I wish Nintendo could create a game like this today, because at times I'm not sure if they have it in them anymore.

Just seen the Man City/Spurs game on Match of the Day 2. Balotelli and Lescott should both have been sent off. Straight reds for both, no doubt about it. Balotelli may have an element of doubt about it (for some), but Lescott's was pure thug-like behaviour.

I thought the game itself was mixed. Arsenal started off very brightly, but United eased into it and finished the first half strongly. I thought Valencia, Nani and Evra offered great width and gave Djourou in particular a hard time. Valencia took his goal really well. Second half was weird. United eased off a bit too much for my liking, whilst Arsenal created some great chances. I really thought Ramsey had scored, but thankfully it went over the bar. As for Van Persie's miss, that was insane, would've put my house on him burying that. Oxlade-Chamberlain (sp?) was by far the best Arsenal player today. He looked very comfortable on the ball and was very creative with it. I can see the sense in him going off at some point in the game, as he is young and this is a tiring game at this level, but it was wrong to take him off at that moment. He just helped Arsenal get back into the game, and was their brightest spark, so taking him off just killed all the momentum in Arsenal's attack. That, and the injury to Walcott which allowed United time for a breather. Terrible decision by Wenger. Quite uncharacteristic, I thought. To take a player off like that, at that stage is madness. It would have been like us taking off Valencia for Fabio or something. Well, actually no, because United fans generally like Fabio. (I'm ashamed to admit that I was grinning like a bitch when I saw Arshavin coming on for OxCham) Overall, I'm happy with the win. A much needed 3 points, because if we had lost today, City would have built up a good lead. Although, the gap between the top 2 and everyone else is widening.

Heard about that earlier. That's brilliant. Thought the Fulham/Newcastle game was crazy. In general, today is a bad day for defending. Watching Liverpool on Match of the Day and it looks like they don't know how to defend either.

Hmm, I think the two would conflict. Xpert11 is all about developing your players. So, you buy players, nurture them, and they develop over the years. You have something called a development value, which contributes to their skill level. The more matches they play, and the better they do, the higher their Development value. After the season ends, in a player has a certain value, they go up a skill level. If they don't, they go down. It's much more akin to an RPG than something like Fifa. Especially the "rock, paper, scissors" type of gameplay when it comes to choosing tactics and formations. One system beats another, there's always ways to nullify the threat of an opponent, etc. If it were crossed with Fifa, the problem is that it would really just boil down to who could play better during the game...all this development stuff and tactics would be made redundant. In theory, somebody could be a great manager on Xpert11, but be lousy when playing Fifa.

If there's one area of the game that doesn't really need any criticism, it's the graphics and art style. Everytime I walk into Faron Woods and see the birds flutter away, I can't help but smile.

Because Fifa is...and Xpert11 is...what? Xpert11 is like an RPG. It's a management game. You're in charge of a whole team, the development of that team, tactics etc. Fifa, every game is a 1-off. There's no real development over a long term. Also, you're directly influencing each game by controlling the players. You don't do that in Xpert11 as it's strictly just a management game. Edit: This is why men never talk to women about football.

Good stuff, Goafer! This was done really quickly. Results in January, what is this shit? Screw yooooooooooooooooooooou. Although I voted for Gentleman's Mafia (I think), Xpert11 is a beast. It's insanely addictive and every games feels like an emotional rollercoaster. I know the men are not real in the game, but to me, they're real dammit. DRAGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Yeah, I saw your other post. It reminded me of Conquest's awesomeness. Battle is a bit shit, isn't it? I wish we could delete that out of existence, or maybe they could remake it or something. It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the films. It looks similar(ish) but it just doesn't feel the same. Escape has to be given some credit for finding a way to continue the series. Although, it does have some holes. For example, how did they manage to get to the Forbidden Zone to fly the ship, in the same time that it took Zaius to reach the "human" city at the end of the second film? Also, although its not confirmed, the ship did look pretty battered to me when Brent crash lands on the planet.

I'm glad this game is coming, otherwise Resident Evil would be dead to me. I generally dislike it when games or films "break" the order by having a numbered sequence, yet it taking place in a different chronological order. What's the point? If they're not in order, why not just ditch the numbered system?

I've had to close my eyes and ears and Lalalalalalalal at your last post, Mokong. I haven't seen Rise yet. The original films are pretty good, aren't they? I really like Beneath and Conquest, in particular. I guess because they're quite bleak and dark, maybe that has something to do with it. I only found out about the original ending for Conquest a few years ago. It's quite a grim ending, but I really like it...

I'd love to one day do a Metroid marathon, in full order. I also agree with the previous two posts. Fusion just seems much more enjoyable if you've played Other M. I liked it before playing Other M. But...I truly loved it after playing it.

I'm chuffed that I managed to keep you at bay in terms of chances. It was a good game, mind. Cheers for making it a cracker. I changed my formation about a dozen times. I sometimes don't know which one to go with until maybe an hour or so before kick off. I changed a few of my tactics right before the game...literally...about 10 minutes or something. I'm glad I did, otherwise I don't think I would have got the win. I'll be happy to get the next game out of the way. After that I have 3 winnable games, and then the final five will be very, very hard. Comerade away Aqui1a at home Bubbles at home ReZ away DuD away I'll be happy to get even a single point from those five.

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS! DRAGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I changed two things right before the match, and they paid off big time.

Live draw would be amazing. We'd have to find a way to make it into an actual video or something so we could view it...since that would be brilliant. Xpert11. Serious fucking business!

The voice acting is atrocious. But, the rest of the stuff seems good. Can't really get over some of the voice acting, though. Its time like this where I'm glad Zelda has stayed away from that.

We could base it on league finishing positions and let the "weaker" teams host it at their ground, to balance it out. Or, host it like the FA Cup and draw the names out of a hat. First choice is the home team, second choice is the away team. Anyway, I'm having a bit of trouble with preparing for tomorrow's game. I'm a bit nervous Dan will have guessed how I'll be playing and will counter eet.
