  1. It's an "exciting time" when there's talk of new managers coming in. But, we should be careful not to make Harry out to be a miracle worker. He's not a miracle worker. To put it into some perspective, Capello has won the league with every club side he has managed. 3 Italian clubs and one Spanish. He has a wealth of Champions League experience and won the trophy whilst managing AC Milan. And even he didn't "crack" the England job. Harry has done great things at Spurs. If we're going to go down the "they must be English route", then he is the best there is. I'm not totally convinced an English manager is the right answer...and I'm not sure we should be making our Redknapp to be a mesiah. If I were him, would I even want the job? It's very prestigious being England Manager, but it's also a looooooot of fucking hassle at the same time. Just ask Fabio Capello. Also, can we please stop talking about Darren Bent? The man has been dire this season. As have Villa. Just checked up and found that he has scored 9 goals, which is a lot (surprised me actually), but his all-round play is just...no. He would not improve the national team.
  2. Fucking John Terry. Nothing but fucking trouble for club and country. Fabio was absolutely right to come out with what he said. He's the England manager, it should be his responsibility who he wants as Captain. Just...another England farce. Why do the media and FA persist with making retarded decisions and moves?
  3. HADOUKEEEEN
  4. Ok, cheers for the advice, guys. I pretty much wrote off this season anyway, as it was all about getting DV and experience for my players. Which, I've mostly got. Just, defeats like that hurt. Fuck this game for making me emotional.
  5. Happy Birthday, duuuuuuuuude. You are one of my favourite people for letting me roam around Forbidden Planet without judging me. ILOVEYOUKEN. I hope your annual day of birth went swimmingly.
  6. The house is in Westbourne, just after the the part where Prince of Wales Road and Surrey Road meet. It's only a few mins away from the shops, heh.
  7. I'm paying out quite a bit to the youth academy, which has been terrible for me, so far. Also, as you say, form and win bonuses. There's very little left by the end of it. But my midfielder is only 25 this season...hardly old. Also, the striker is 27 this season, so was 26 last, so that's hardly old either. That's another thing I don't get. Both you and Dan say don't play the forward there, but he's an all-rounder. So, what's the point in having an all-rounder if they're not going to be any good in any other position? I don't get it.
  8. I played the oldest midfield I probably could have done...Also went with 5 across the middle to give me some chance of winning that battle. At times, the game is downright annoying. My main striker, my main midfielder and my main defender played virtually every game last season and didn't go up in skill values at all. My main midfielder has a DV of 10 despite playing 13 games, yet my youngest defender has 13 despite only playing 6 games. I'm bitter about that. There's no point buying a veteran because I have no money, and I already know roughly what my team of the future will be, they're just too young. Also, buying another player will mean that some of my other ones will miss out on game time, therefore lowering their DV. I went offensive mainly because I went cautious earlier in the season and ended up getting turned over anyway. (4-0 at home to ReZ, for example), so figured I may as well have a go. If I'm going to get turned over, I may as well try and play some attacking football. It's won me more games that way.
  9. Fuming at my result. A 6-0 away loss to the Comerade Co-op, after successfully guessing his formation. Played 4-5-1 away from home, team were on pretty decent form as well. I don't feel as if I deserved that. Two of the goals came from free-kicks (one directly) and one was a penalty. Just...meh. To add insult to injury, I got a 4 star manager rating. How on Earth does this game work sometimes?! Very deflated after today.
  10. No. The boy is made of Gold.
  11. Maddawg, I only like winding you up cos you're a fan of the scum. As for the kick, it looks nasty on the video, as he does take a lot at Parker before kicking him. Although, it's hard to judge what happened in real time, as football is a split-second game. I probably did about a dozen "tackles" like that tonight.
  12. Yeah, and into them. With two feet. Loved the Suarez kick on Parker. He's a nice bloke. I might invite him around for tea, as long as there's no black folk around. Haha.
  13. Taken this from the BBC website: "From AnfieldCat: "In my 3 minute cameo I've ran past more players than Stewart Downing has all season.""
  14. There were 22 pussies on the field tonight. Not including that cat.
  15. I had a nice session on Saturday and played football today after school/work. Going to try and go as often as I can in the mornings, as I've been a bit lazy at times, due to tiredness from work. I do feel as if I've hit a wall, so I'm going to try a few things to mix it up.
  16. Anyone else watching the news right now? If you're not, basically the authorities are in the process of closing the Channel Tunnel. They say that the move is due to the Conservative's plan to cut down the number of im/migrants coming to the UK. There are also plans to dismantle the Eurostar system and sink all of the available ferries, to stop any strays from coming through. However, it appears that some still manage to slip through the net. Anybody who wears blue hair as party attire and pulls it off with ease should be considered a threat to our nation. There are numerous images of the perpetrator in a number of different scenarios. Here is one of her looking windswept by the sea of Brightonia. Here she is once more, practising for her driving test. It has also become apparent that this deviant is turning 27. As she is currently sleeping, it is wise that we get the message out there, to catch her off her guard. Source: BBC
  17. I fixed eet. Ah, 5Live, haven't listened to that for a while. Also, it probably won't even be mentioned that Luiz "dived" for that Mata free-kick. Maybe if it had gone in. Maybe.
  18. Of course. Nobody is pure anymore. Nobody. If they know they can go down and get something for it, why wouldn't they? These professionals know that referees are fallible. Everybody knows what the solution is, to help these referees, yet nothing is done about it. It'll happen every week, on some level.
  19. Playing an FPS on the Wii with the GC controller is the same as playing football with your arse. You're doing it wrong.
  20. De Gea has been making spectacular saves all season. Only his catching from crosses/corners is under question. He was excellent today and could do nothing about the goals. The Welbeck penalty shouldn't have been given, but he should have got something in the first half (can't decide if it was penalty or free-kick). In fact, we should've had another when Bosingwa pulled Young down in the box in the first half. I thought Chelsea were extremely fortunate to take the lead, as they were sloppy in the first half. They were also very lucky to go 3-0 up, after some terrible defending. Rafael was probably our best defender today. Score-line seems fair to me, although we could have won that game. We definitely deserved to go away with something. I knew Torres was going to fuck up his chance in the second half, which probably would have wrapped the game up for Chelsea. I'll laugh if the Welbeck penalty gets discussed in great detail, when Adam Johnson did something identical (not similar, identical) yesterday and didn't even get given a look in. It'll happen though, because it's United against Chelsea. Very emotionally draining game. Thought Carrick was outstanding again and was my Man of the Match. Edit: Also have to laugh at the Chelsea fans booing Ferdinand...
  21. Cole and Evra are definitely the best two. Not sure if one is truly better than the other, because they both player in particular ways for their club. I wouldn't swap Evra for Cole, and I'm sure Chelsea fans wouldn't swap Cole for Evra. I really rate Baines, mind. Fantastic player. He's got an aggression and skill that I like. Everton need to keep hold of him...
  22. You'll be hard-pressed to find ANY United fans who think that. Evra has been nothing short of consistently awesome for the past few years. Had a very dodgy start, but he's come through in style. He plays in virtually every game and is reliable. Enrique is nowhere near in the same league as Evra. He might be having a decent season, but Evra is a consistently high performer in a Premier League winning/contending team. You couldn't tempt me to swap him for Enrique.
  23. I've had a very busy week or two, lots of stuff to do and in such a short space of time. First of all, I had to help my class create an assembly. I've always wanted to make an Art Film that focuses just around music and images/video, but never had the time to do it. Anyway, after watching a fan-made video with The Only Moment We Were Alone playing (by Explosions in the Sky), I thought about maybe doing that for the assembly. I showed it to my class, and they didn't really know what we had to do at first. But, we started to get the ideas flowing and we turned the assembly into a "thank you" video, where we celebrate the good things about the school and how it wouldn't be the same without everyone's help. It basically involved 2 days of the children going around the school, with little digital cameras, recording footage and images that were to be used. We had a minor issue with the software we wanted to use...in that it didn't appear to be on the school system anymore. So, after some quick thinking, we found a way around that. It all seemed to go well and the kids seemed to pick up how to use the software very easily, and were editing videos and taking the parts they wanted with ease. There was a minor panic when it came to actually doing the assembly on Wednesday. We got the projector ready to display the video in the hall, but the file seemed to revert back to an earlier save state, so it wasn't displaying all the work we had done. I panicked like a bitch, but managed to get the assembly to postpone until the day after. Weirdly, the video worked when we tried it in the classroom later on...so dunno wtf was up. When it came to the actual performance, we showed off the video with Human Qualities being played in the background by Explosions in the Sky. I played them some music that I thought would go (instrumentally type stuff) and they chose that one, to my delight, heh. Anyway, the video was a hit, and we've been asked to put it on the school website. Headmaster was very, very pleased and happy. One of the older kids even swears that he saw him cry during the performance. Fuck Yeah. Human Tears! I've also moved into the house/flat! The internet is sorted, and today I bought a toaster, microwave and kettle after work. We have almost everything here now. Just need to get an ironing board.
  24. Are we still talking about Stewart Fucking Downing? The guy is 27. He may improve, but he should be the finished article by now. It's only his first season at Liverpool, so he may have a good end to it. But still, never rated him. Never saw the fuss. I'm surprised David Bentley disappeared quicker than he did.
  25. I planned my tactics pretty much right...got a 5 star rating. There's just some things in this game which don't make sense. It's unpredictable, which is mostly good, except in times like this. I know its my first time playing that formation, but meh, gutted at that.
