  1. Absolutely no way I can get anything out of the game against Ell, so I'm using it as a chance to give my fringe/younger players some game time.
  2. I can't say I'm overly thrilled about any of this. Heath Ledger giving that performance as the joke was rare, it was a once in a lifetime thing. Ben Affleck would have to give the best performance of his career to pull this off for me. I'm still bitter about Batman being in this in the first place.
  3. I agree with most of what you say. To toughen up almost sounds like it needs to be a physical thing, when in fact you can toughen up mentally and not let things affect you so much. Joking between friends is important and one way of forming bonds with people is to take the piss out of them. It's almost a very British way of enjoying time with your friends. But, there also needs to be a line there, and it's ever so slight. Overstepping that line can often be seen as "having something" against one person. Imagine if you were in a group and all of the comments were being aimed in your direction and you were the constant butt of all jokes, it would depend on the nature of the jokes and the words being said, because sometimes little things can be said which could go just that little bit too far. The thing that I've always seen with the "best" bullies is that they are very, very snide and sneaky about the whole thing. It will often be a hundred little things rather than one big issue and very often it will be playing on somebody's emotions rather than actual physical violence. I've always found that more damaging.
  4. Rooney for Mata? I would happily carry Rooney on my back all the way from Manchester to London for that deal. Mata is a beast. If Rooney doesn't want to play for us, then that deal would be amazing. There's also been rumours of Eto'o coming to United, maybe to replace Rooney?
  5. Yeah, I'm not sure how Jose is going to fit all of these midfielders in... So, there's: Mata Hazard Oscar De Bruyne Van Ginkel Moses Schurrle Lampard Ramires Michael Essien Obi Mikel Plus, the youth products. Then, you've got the players out on loan. Fuck. Any of those would walk into our team. (except Obi and probably Essien these days)
  6. You forgot Oscar and Van Ginkel. It's a joke, though. Chelsea need a striker, why are they going after another attacking midfielder? Ba won't get a game under Mourinho, Torres is arse. Lukaku is the best striker they have at the moment. Schurre and Moses will play on the wings, not up top.
  7. I want that power rack so bad. What brand were the weights in the end? What finish? (it doesn't really matter, weights are weights, but I'm curious ) Is it wrong that I'm genuinely excited for you?
  8. I've got another story on this although I haven't really been reading this through for the last page or so, so it may or may not be relevant. This part should be relevant to your post, though. A friend of mine was the class teacher for a year 5. The group were taking part in some sort of camp-out when a small portion of the group told a nearby teacher that one of the boys had brought in a knife and had "held it up to a girl's throat and threatened to kill her". Whether or not this is true is completely unknown, since the only person who had heard this was the girl who had been threatened. The boy did bring in a knife, some kind of pocket knife as he thought it would be useful for a camp out. He was very quick to admit owning the knife and said that he took it out of the bag to show others. The problem here is that you can't really "blanket" these things and you have to look at each situation and child individually. From what I know of the boy (I taught him at various points in the year, was on good terms with him and understood a lot about his background- quite a difficult upbringing that he had with a lack of a Father-figure), he probably was telling the truth and had only taken out the knife to show others, which...you would kinda expect kids to do, to show off. The second part of this situation is to do with the girl in question, who was quite renowned for telling lies. Now, this puts the school in a situation because you can't really call out somebody as a liar unless there are credible witnesses, which there were none. So, the school took her word for it and the boy was "encouraged" to leave, before he became expelled. In essence, he was kicked out, but to stop him from receiving a black mark against his name and to make it easier to find another school, he was given the option to leave, basically. It's a difficult situation to call, because when you look at the facts at face value, all you see is "boy brings knife to school, threatens others" which doesn't actually tell the whole story. Yes, he was wrong to bring the knife, although he was never at any point told "not to bring one", it wasn't mentioned on some kind of list that knives are prohibited. If he was in the scouts, I'm sure it would have been allowed (maybe, I don't know). In a somewhat ironic way, the girls in that class turned on the girl in question and blamed her for getting the boy expelled. So, if she was telling the truth, then she still came out of it in a bad way.
  9. Good stuff, brah. Sorry I didn't get back to you with the picture yet, an old friend turned up in Bournemouth today, so that was part of my day gone. I'll hit you up with them tomorrow. Exciting times, though. Those dumbbells look great. Any idea what the maximum load is on them?
  10. Fun and random info: That's the first time I've probably worn trousers indoors for about 2 months. I only wore them for the photo. FREEEEEDOOOOOOMMMM. @MoogleViper, did you grow a tache then, or did you come to your senses?
  11. Feelbadforyourman. I am a little bit curious how much I could actually grow it in, say, a month. It's bad after 2 days. Hmm. I wonder if it's a sackable offence at work.
  12. Oh, I just thought you hadn't shaved that day. :p Stubble is fine. Full on beards are bad.
  13. Gah, Wii Party U is such a bad name. It's too much of a mouthful to say. It should have been U Party or even add the question mark at the end. U PARTY? Loads better. Wii Fit U sounds like something you'd say before penetration to a porn star.
  14. That's a good idea. Maybe even put Monster Hunter in there. Then, Batman Origins. You could even have that "groups" trailer I mentioned earlier focusing on 3rd party stuff, and then at the end of the Call of Duty: Ghosts trailer, you could mention that there's already one out for the Wii U that you can play now. "Call of Duty: Ghosts OUT October blah blah. And Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 OUT NOW."
  15. Might give it a go at some point, when I get through dis backloggg. Colours just seemed great to me. That soundtrack, those visuals. Basically, the way to my heart is through trippy visuals and synthesisers. :awesome:
  16. Hated both videos. Both would look a million times better without that facial mess. I'm loving the poll results. Dat symmetry.
  17. Colours is probably my favourite. I don't know what's happened to SEGA, they suddenly seem to be able to understand how Sonic is meant to be played in 3D.
  18. Nah, I didn't play it. The look of it didn't seem to grab me. The trailers don't seem as lively as they initially did. We'll see as it draws nearer. :p
  19. Hahahaahhhaahha. The sad thing is that it is miles better than anything I've seen from Nintendo. Also, you've made me want Sonic Lost World again. So, the advert works! Also also, what's that third game after Lost World? I was going to say "add the titles" and then I saw your post. Idea thief. If that advert was going to be televised, I would also break it up into smaller ones. About 30 seconds long, but group the relevant games together. So, I'd put Bayonette, X and maybe something like Smash Bros. all together, then Mario Land, Mario Kart and maybe Smash Bros. again. But, God, it can be done. I hope somebody else tries to outdo you now.
  20. I've heard that they can be hit or miss with deliveries, so I opted for Shopto. From what I remember, I ordered a CD as a Christmas present from there. I ordered it first, before the other gifts and it was the last to arrive. Could have just been a one off, but I've read on a few other sites that they're not particularly amazing. Rule of thumb seems to be that if you want it early, ShopTo it.
  21. Completely agree with this. The media caught wind of the word and threw it in there. It wasn't trolling, the media incorrectly used the term. Basically, anybody who goes online now and is generally a bit of a dick to somebody else is regarded as a troll. That's not entirely right.
  22. It's more about your fuse. I used to have a very short fuse and things like the bar stuff would wind me up. I guess I've just learned to relax about it all. I generally dislike bars on a weekend, as they're crowded to hell. I usually choose where I go out by the music played there. Like a nice indie or a rock-type pub. You usually find the atmosphere is better, so you don't mind as much waiting in a line. It's where you're in walkabout or something on a Saturday and there's only 3 people on the tills, that would piss me off. I hardly drink these days. My ideal night would be having friends around at our place, drinking cider, playing some board games and video games whilst eating pizza or something.
  23. I've not really got into the indie gaming scene, yet. I'm pretty selective about what I do buy and play, only because of time and money, though. If both of these were more disposable, I'd probably have gotten into it much more by now. It's something that I'll probably look into more now. Can only be a good thing for gaming.
  24. That's not entirely true, though. What you're saying is that there's a clear line between online and offline. These days, there isn't. Media is everywhere. What if you were in school and your mates were being shown something on a phone about what you did online, where somebody humiliated you? These things can spill over so easily. People talk. They will talk about things that they've seen online, too. Naturally, they'll also bitch, poke fun at and other such things. You can and you can't turn things off because yes, you can physically turn off the computer, but you can't really control what happens on the other end. You can't define what will happen with that person who is writing that sorta stuff in the first place. We had a particularly nasty incident at our school about half a year ago where some older girls got into some sort of fight on facebook. That's how it started off anyway. Then, there were nasty text messages after that, and it did spill over into her school life. Friends started to take sides, people weren't speaking to each other, insults, name calling, a little bit of physical stuff too as a result of it. It wasn't pleasant.
  25. I actually think I've regressed in some ways, @Murr. With gigs, I used to enjoy standing somewhere near the back with space so I could just see the band. Now, I much prefer going closer to the front (not RIGHT at the front, but in the thick of it) as you get the atmosphere. I remember going to a Muse gig and thought, "you know what? This is a bit shit." No atmosphere at the back of the room. All of the fans are at the front. I think I crave that. As for drinking, it sounds like you burnt yourself out doing it or you got the most out of it. Going to town 3+ times a week is a lot and it's expensive, brah. I wouldn't say it's growing up, but that you had your time doing it and you've enjoyed it. It's down to how you really evolve as a person. You can either be seen as "grumpy" or chill as fuck. Like that cinema stuff, I probably would have let that pass, because I'd think that they would shut up in a minute or so. But, the older me would perhaps have gotten annoyed with them.
