BLAH the nurse manager was training nurse in at work over the weekend, and my desk/station has a training phone on it now, which is completely different! o_O I hate it when people change my desk, it really just doesn't sit well with me! >___> And someone keeps changing my mouse and keyboard, the ones I cleaned to death one morning because I was sick of how DISGUSTING they are. People are so messy. We have a loose "no food rule" but it seems that the night staff just eat whatever. I feel a bit cheeky eating a chocolate bar at my desk... but one morning I came in and had fucking soup or something on my desk. URgh.

aye I agree, it'll make little difference. People that know no better will see IE and be like "YES, I used this before!" because they wont have a foggies what the other options are..

You have to have the initial account as an admin... If MS made the initial (and only) account a standard account, pray tell, how would the user install software and do other adminy things? And you have to do time setups n shiz under an admin account. So that really makes no sense.

have you noticed it happening at a specific time (opening a program or accessing a file?) check the process manager and see if anything is hogging the processing or memory, that might tell you what the problem is. Couldn't say for certain that its a hardware fault for sure.. don't go throwing your computer out just yet whats the spec like on your system?

if you run multiple harddrives it can occasionally skip. try taking one piece of ram out and running it as normal, then swapping. That should tell you which is corrupted (if that is the case)

Bought some Weightwatchers sparkling white wine, and some Carolans, after the offy manager let me try some. Yummers. Like baileys with honey. I'm gonna enjoy this! ^_^ I also bought my mum some sparkling rosé <3

Can you even GET replacement motherboards for laptops :s Sadly we live in an age where its a waste of time and energy replacing more than just the ram or HDD on a laptop. Buy her a nice new little Samsung netbook and... all will be forgotten/she'll love you even more. Promise ;P

I like wesley's posts, they make me read them! I think we should all post like this! Or something. In other news my day was a bit blah. Went to the doctors about my constant migraine attacks. More meds to take. She said she didn't want to put me on painkillers cause of everything else. So now that's 3 long term drugs to take. She also noticed that my eyes are fubar... i said that rhemy said it was likely due to my condition. I think she felt very sorry for me, asking how my other medications were going I said I was getting a lot of side effects, but trying not to make a big deal out of it. She gave me that *sadpityface* that all my therapists do. Sad Han is saddd. Kinda hits me more when other people give me recognition, I'm not sure why.

not necessarily a HDD failure, could be graphics or any number of things that have failed... its unlikely that it would even boot into safe mode if the HDD was dead.

I've gone through all the basic settings, checked the hardware settings, tried to update the driver (and there aren't any on t'internet either) it is a set of headphones i'm using so there isn't any manual volume control on them. its a driverless thing and relies on a basic USB sound driver.

i've pretty much exhausted every single option known to me with this bloody problem. I bought a little cheap usb sound card as ive bollocked my onboard sound on my laptop. (cheap and lazy solution, or so I thought) Plugged it in and vista installed the sound drivers, which it says are the most up to date, but the sound is incredibly loud. On the lowest volume its just about ready to rip my eardrums out!! >_< Any suggestions?
