Are violent video games damaging to society?
Raining_again replied to flameboy's topic in General Chit Chat
Time and time again this thread comes around and its nice to see someone who has a different opinion. Kudos to you. Its true. Parents are too lazy to care, or just don't care at all (it'll shut them up so I can get peace for a few hours) So they do things, that if they had put thought or research into, may not have happened. I do think its partially games, but mostly the personality of the gamer. If you are a bit mentally unstable its not gonna help, but most relatively normal adults can control themselves enough not to go out and kill people like they saw in the video games. I suppose you could almost consider the "mentally unstable" (very hard to find a suitable word for this) to be almost like children. -
its updating okay, then i'm applying patches, and its screwing up and giving me an error number which leads to "you have not got the latest version of messenger"

i'm not having problems with the software itself, just the plus/hax are disagreeing.

Happy birthday mooglez!

that film was actually quite decent. The presentations made me laugh a lot! Someone has commmunication issues :P Something you expect to be a faffy rom-com turned out to be strangely philosophical in the end! o_O

Halifax is completely down, apparently the ATMs aren't working, and the website is down. And the ballymena branch is closed on Saturday afternoon.

I've tried the other clients, but I don't like them, and none of them have the appear offline function (or they do but don't work) *hug* I'm gonna say one thing about facebook chat - no. no. no. NOOOO. Its so terriiiible. And I don't want everyone in sundry attached to my facebook The problem I'm getting is that MSN won't even let you log in unless you update. And a plus addon won't let me log on and brings up the "you haven't got the newest version" error. So i'm thinking that using an older version is going to do the same... maybe.. I'll try it and see. Yeah, as you say cutting the crap off turned windows live into a pretty decent client. edit: tried installing version 8something from that website, has no plugins yet

...is a piece of shit. Why do I have to CONSTANTLY update the bloody thing for it to work? Why isn't it allowing me to plus and hack it like it used to? Am I the only one tearing my hair out trying to fix this?!

my arm is like seriously sore Stupid swine flu vaccine. Had a bit of a fever this morning too. Apparently its normal, and I wasn't feeling hugely sick, so it's all good! must be allergic to swines or something cause the seasonal flu vaccine has done squat all to my arm.

Not daft at all! To explain it simply its feels like your brain dying. Connections drop/fade for a period and your body stops working. Extreme head pain, feeling hot, and like you neeeeeed fresh air, eye pain, eye failure (seeing funny stuff like flashes, double vision, tunnel vision, no vision - lol.) dizzyness, lack of concentration, nausea, tinitus, pain like nothing on this planet. I get so much pressure building up in my head that I am constantly vomiting. Even when there's nothing there Its definitely easy to work out when you have them, because its not just a headache like everyone seems to assume. If you are worried, there are some (expensive) over the counter remedies -fucking £7/8 for two doses, pffft.- or go to your GP. =) I used migraleve (you get pink and yellow, pink is initial, and yellow is to take as a secondary a few hours later - I only ever needed pink so its good to start on that. Its decent and doesn't cost the earth like others I've seen..) --- so today I desperately tried to recover from the above, as I had my swine flu and seasonal flu injection today. woo! They were both sore as a bugger, and i have to go again in three weeks to get another! Damn immune system!
