Cockney isn't so bad. You do the accent better than the locals heh. Its like a lovely easy to understand version! I'm glad your eyes are doing well, you've been through the mill a bit lately haven't you?! *fingers crossed* for a perfect recovery! I might be getting surgery too heh!

oh yeah I totally agree... hell one of our entry level I.T jobs required one.. 13k pay. ENTRY LEVEL. It's just insane.. Its their way of trying to determine who has some sort of vague level of intelligence. Jobs should be based on experience.. I don't think a degree course teaches you anywhere near enough to know how to manage corporate severs and design programs and stuff in their environment. It seems to me, much like college (only a higher level obviously) that scenarios and tasks are based on a sandbox environment where nothing can possibly go wrong. And the fact is 99% of people can get a minimum pass in a degree if they work hard enough, and get help from tutors.. They don't want to see people fail, even the ones who have no interest or no clue. When I was in college they nearly did the assignment for you! It's all about passing criteria, whether you get the concept or not. The real world is a hell of a different place! Imo it should be a whole lot more about taking apprentices on at low pay rates and them being able to gain exp and increasing salary as they become more capable. In three years of employment you can learn so so so much more than you ever would in uni..

I don't get the hype.... I mean isn't the Simpsons all about slagging off the "American way" with all their jokes and whatnot.. the minute it gets into something serious, or "against" someone else its like.... O___o Cheel. Its a cartoon.. "No humans harmed in the making..." etc

Do you want to have a shit job, living on the edge of not paying your bills, forever? I think thats the idea behind it. Uni... in the majority... is a crock load of shit. People should learn most things from apprenticeship based things rather than sitting in a lecture hall (and that's even if said students can be bothered to go) It seems to me that uni is more a lesson on life; partying, scrounging by on hardley any money, learning to live by yourself, and having to organise various things for yourself!

Quality advice... I think at the end of the day we all know how to budget (stop buying expensive crap you don't need, maybe?) but the question is.... do you want to? Probably not. My mum makes us an awesome recipe. Mince, onion, tinned tomatoes, chopped and fried up together, boil a big pan of pasta (which can be bought in bulk uber cheap) bung it all together with a bit of herbs n spices. Makes a monster pot which keeps for a couple of days. (but you probs want to freeze if you are on your ownsome - it does us as a family of 4, about 3 days.) She said we used to live on it in the days when our family wasn't very well off. Soup is a good one for a mix and match of different veggies, whatever needs to be used.

part time is better than nothing!

I dislike Jeremy Kyle and I dislike the people that he gets on the show. Jeremy is a smarmy git. The people on the program are morons. Oh, and the audience aren't much above either.

fudge the truth. You can blur your "duties" but you can't make it up completely, especially if said employer is providing a reference. For example, you can use management duties as a part of your job even if you only cover once a blue moon, or if you get given one off tasks. Making everything sound fancy is basically the only way to look good on a CV. You're not on "till duties" you are "providing a customer focused service" or something like that.

What the frig, "interior view" will NEVER happen. You are exposing your interior (including where your car keys and money is) to the general public. Seeing the front of someone's house is certainly not breaking their privacy... but inside is. Besides them taking pictures of the inside of your house would involve something called breaking and entering.. unless you're dumb enough to actually give them permission. No-one is "recording" every aspect of your life by taking pictures of the main road you live on... flip its not even a live video, my house image is over a year out of date!

Ine your accent is lovely... You people make us look bad god dammit =P And your eyes look sore!!

Live Messenger being a very naughty boy
Raining_again replied to Debug Mode's topic in General Chit Chat
Windows Live messenger has really really gone downhill lately... I suppose that's what you get for a free service. I've had people being deleted off my account, and not adding people (or sometimes delayed adding...wtf) and some days my account wont even sign in... but I refuse to use fb chat because it is SO SO SO goddamn awful. -
God damn, you'd think they were actually going into your house the way some of you are getting on... Its nothing you can't see by wandering the main streets yourself.

hahah well a lot of my accent is from northern Ireland.. I have got a few tinges of other accents, the only people to notice that, however are the local ones here. I've got a scottish background and my mum's a brummie...my dad's irish and my sister was born in Germany... Talk about complicated :P I'm a culchie too, its just a back-arse-of-nowhere "country" accent!

I agree. You are very easy to understand, so why change what's natural for your voice? Uber mega props for being so bloody fluent in a second language! I've an awful accent and there will be no uploadage... :P

Glad you didn't die! I had my flu vaccine and I've taken a reaction. My arm has gone purple and hurts like a big bastard. And I feel all feverish etc. Minor reaction really but still sucks

bit early on it...

actually it can make people with an active immune system sick too, because your immune system goes into overdrive and attacks itself, and good cells - that's why the swine flu killed a lot of people outside of the expected group. Whereas the vaccine won't do that at all

I can believe quite a few of you are scared of/don't like needles... Wusses The flu jab actually helps your body stave off colds too.. its not bad for your body at all because all of the "bacteria" in the vaccine is dead, its just stimulating an immune response. I can't have live vaccines, and have several immune diseases so I'm pretty sure the flu vaccine wouldn't be given to me if there was any risk. I have my regrets getting the swine flu vaccine, but I'd probably do the same if I had the chance to go back. I've had one minor cold since getting the flu vaccine last year (which went away very quickly) compared to at least 4 major colds the year before
