  1. Just finished this, really loved it overall, probably more so than the original. Great characters, combat, visuals, sound, missions were fun and the collectibles were expertly done. As with the first game they handed them out bit by bit which made you want to 100% everything. Sure a lot of the openworld encounters were pretty cookie cutter, as with a lot of these big AAA games, but I didn't mind it so much, didn't feel as noticeable as the original game. Also the end credits were stunning, one of the best I've seen from a visuals pov. I wasn't particularly excited by any of the PS5 launch games, so this turned out to be a pleasant surprise!
  2. Ubisoft openworld games have always felt like the compete opposite of Breath of the Wild to me, busywork checklists and progress bars vs discovery based open exploration, so I was dubious they'd pull this off. No surprise to hear the exploration and puzzles aren't great. Still looks fun enough though. Will sadly wait for the price to plummet as usual.
  3. Whoa. So, Chapter 13 hapened! Really fantastic, I haven't read the reaction online yet but I can imagine it'll be glowing.
  4. Fun event! Enjoying this one a lot
  5. Nintendo aren't behind the competition in terms of pricing, it's simply a different way of doing things. If Sony or Microsoft had games that could sell 5, 10-20+ million copies at full price, they wouldn't discount their games either. It's hard to call Nintendo behind, when their software sales figures are genuinely insane.
  6. I know this is Sony we're talking about, but "Playstation Labo"?? Anywho, really loving this game. Reminds me so much of NintendoLand, where it acts as a celebration of Playstation history, even down to the gacha machine (Pachinko machine) dishing out collectibles in exchange for coins. Only done the first two areas of the first world, and the platforming and polish is really great. Wasn't as keen rolling the ball around (just as I wasn't in Mario Galaxy) but as Astrobot himself it's a lot of fun. Most of the references are flying way over my head though as I didn't own a PS2 or PS3.
  7. I'd put my PS5 in rest mode and hadn't touched it in a couple of days. Came back to it today to find it off. Turned it on, and had the whole "Your console is being repaired" screen thing again, after it needed repairing on day 1. It's pretty terrible just how unstable the thing is at the moment, clearly rushed to get it out. Really hope this sort of thing isn't doing damage to my system long term. Anyway, otherwise enjoying it a lot. Spider-Man is as cookie cutter and samey as I expected, I kind of feel like I'm playing the same game from a couple of years ago but never mind. Astro's Play Room is a lot of fun though, even though I've only played the first part of the first proper area. Controller is fantastic, soooo glad they went the way of Xbox/Switch Pro in terms of the shape/ergonomics, it's way more comfortable than the DS4. Don't really notice anything special about the haptics in Spider-Man but in Astro it's awesome. Let's hope games use it going forward. UI is ok, needs a ton of work. Not a fan of the tiny icons on the home screen and the card system isn't particularly interesting to me. Something that always bugged me on PS4 is how it took ten seconds between pressing the screenshot button and the sound telling you it took one, it always made me wonder exactly when the screenshot was taken, and was I able to take multiple in quick succession. Anyway it seems a bit better here, even though there's still a delay on the pop up notification for some reason.
  8. Fair enough but generally speaking, I think if you ask people what's been the best "launch game" ever, Mario 64, Tetris, Wii Sports and BOTW would get the most mentions. I can't speak for Demon Souls though, so maybe that's there too now.
  9. I also wouldn't consider Breath of the Wild a port (if that was the suggestion above). It's a brand new game that released day 1 on a new system, If we're talking best ever launch games, that'd be up there alongside Mario 64.
  10. Funny I was just thinking that too! Crazy to be going into the last four episodes completely blind. At least visually. It speaks to how popular the show is when they only needed to show the bare minimum in trailers because they knew people would tune in. Agree with you about the Snoke speculation. Fans just like to read into everything to insane levels, helped along by social media. As an aside, I'm loving the moves we've seen the Razor Crest do. Some lovely shots in The Siege.
  11. I think I need to watch these episodes twice before posting on here The wooden acting is still an issue I have but I was able to enjoy the episode a ton more this time. Also that Imperial cruiser at the end looks absolutely stunning. Inside and out.
  12. Looks like loads of fun, and loads of £££££££.
  13. He did that for Breath of the Wild too, which obviously ended up winning... will history repeat itself haha... I came away from that nomination video feeling a bit underwhelmed, some quality games in there but the year as a whole seemed a bit lacklustre. Obviously Covid + the gen winding down. Would love to see Animal Crossing win, but I imagine TLOU will. Maybe even Hades. Pleased to see Origami King get some love in Family game but it absolutely deserved a nod for score/soundtrack. The music in that game is outstanding.
  14. 79 on Metacritic, I'll probably skip this as the gameplay doesn't really seem for me. Will watch the cutscenes on YouTube though
  15. Haha take your time, plenty of games at the moment!
  16. OMG You need to get on this properly sometime soon @Julius
  17. I feel like the pandemic will help Animal Crossing's chances. When people think back to 2020 they'll think of Covid and how Animal Crossing helped a lot of people get through it. Huge sales, almost no bugs, constant free updates every couple of months... I think it's got a good chance.
  18. Bought this in the end, not happy about the price tag but will sell it once I’m done for £25 or something if anyone wants it in a week or two.
  19. I didn't have a PS4 at launch, took me a couple of years to get one, so I wasn't aware/had forgotten that retail prices start out at RRP
