Anyone playing Floor Kids? The art style is fantastic but I'm not really sure what the gameplay is like. Some kind of rhythm/Tony Hawk like I assume.

Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise of Skywalker (December 20th 2019)
Ronnie replied to Julius's topic in General Chit Chat
Much as I enjoyed TLJ, it's somewhat comforting to know Abrams is back in the director's chair for IX, half way between TFA's "safe" storyline and TLJ's out there plot twists suits me fine. Re: TLJ, I'm so pleased -

Nice video too that's worth a watch, explaining what they thought makes the game so special. -

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

A quarter of a million in one week in Japan? Is that really a disappointing number? Insane the 3DS/2DS is still selling, seven years later. -
(from videos at least) it looks a very polished game

Yes, Glen, we all know. We've had this conversation before. At least seven times. We get it. -

I think I'd have gotten sick of an overworld song around about hour 30, let alone hour 120. -

Great read and I can completely see what you're saying. I think that's what I really missed here, a more coherent three act structure. The jumping all over the place made it hard to be too invested in the film, for me at least. Empire Strikes back may have deviated from ANH and ROTJ in that characters were separated but it was just Dagobah and the asteroid belt. Having three storylines going on at the same time in Last Jedi didn't feel like Star Wars to me and felt too messy. -

Enjoyed it but it needed more time in the editing suite. The pacing and plot lines were all a bit convoluted. The beauty of the original trilogy was the simple narrative thread, this was a bit all over the place. THAT Leia scene was utterly stupid but otherwise I didn't think there was much else to complain about, for me at least, just the plot was a bit messy. I thought the film got better as it went on. The first half hour or so wasn't good. Characters continue to impress. Especially Rey and Kylo Ren. Lightyears better than anything Rogue One served up. -

Seeing it this afternoon at 5. Only seen the first teaser trailer and nothing else, which I'm really chuffed about. Very excited. I loved Force Awakens, regardless of the blatant retreading of ANH. Not perfect obviously but fun and the characters, Rey, Finn, Poe and Kylo Ren were great I thought. Hated the Rogue One location cards. Hated how we went to about seven different places in the first ten minutes. Hated the characters, Jyn's dad apart. His video message to her during the Death Star attack was the best scene in the film. Oh and the ROTJ style space battle was excellent. Much, much better than Abrams' manic pew pew version in TFA. Edit: I am however getting very nervous about all the negative impressions in here. Especially by those who liked TFA -

Rogue One was not good, mostly because of the terrible, terrible characters. This is a must watch for why R1 is poor -

I think as well we have seen Zelda, 3D Mario, Mario Kart and Splatoon in these few months as a big factor. Great sales now but I wonder how Nintendo will keep momentum going at the same level over say 7 years. 2D Mario, Smash, Pokemon, Animal Crossing are all big sellers, and if they can find another Wii Sports, Wii Fit type thing to get the casual market in as well, that'll help. That said there's no way this gen will last 7 years for them, and even if it does, we'll see another 3D Mario, Zelda, Kart, Splatoon etc long before then.
