Can someone who's finished the game explain how far from completing the Sand Kingdom I am please? It's just turned to night-time after a battle on the pyramid, without specifics or spoilers, how many story moons are left in this Kingdom? Can't decide whether to do the next moon or move on to another kingdom and come back later.

All I'm saying is regardless what the thing actually is, there's a reason why they market it as a home console you can play anywhere, rather than a handheld; it's a simple, very attractive message.

Not sure their fans who bought tickets well in advance would find it understandable. Sony could have given a bit more notice.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Ronnie replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I like how they just named the quest "Xenoblade Chronicles 2" lol -
I use it 90% of the time as a home console. And marketing wise, what sounds better to you in an advert: "a home console you can play anywhere!" or "a handheld device you can plug into your tv!" ?

I really like how coins are given a purpose in this game. It's very noticeable how much I'm going out of my way to collect them whereas in previous 3D games they were kind of pointless and I didn't bother as much.

Quantity sure, quality? I look at that list and Metroid and Ever Oasis stand out. The rest are mostly around the 60-70% mark on Metacritic and obviously not a guarantee of quality, it's a pretty good indicator. But hey, different strokes for different folks.

??? What line up is much better than Zelda, Mario, Splatoon, Arms, MK8D, Xenobalde, Fire Emblem and Rabbids?

Miiverse, Wii U Chat and Tvii Shutdown In November

I wouldn't say idiotic, there's a very good reason they haven't put it on Switch. Still a massive shame though, a very clever idea and easily the best thing about the Wii U. -
Spoilers for kingdom names please

I've put a good hour or two into the game now and made it to the desert kingdom, I'm going to spend the next few hours around here and the previous ones exploring, trying to pace myself and not rush through the kingdoms. Really enjoyed the opening cinematic and the tutorial area, loads of charm and personality. So far Cappy seems like a fun companion. I'm using the Pro controller and it seems to work perfectly fine. You can shake it to climb faster, shove it to the left to spin attack, and shake it to do a homing attack. Not sure I'm missing anything not playing with the joy-con. Mario controls like a dream. I genuinely just spent ten minutes running around the desert doing nothing in particular and had a blast. Nintendo have always had great gameplay, lovely visuals, expert level design and fantastic audio but in the last 5 or so years they've added an insane level of polish to their titles and it's never been more evident than in this game, at least at this early stage. If I had to find any nitpicks at all it'd be the controls that flash up on screen and overstay their welcome, but it's a microscopic negative in the grand scheme of things. Oh and the photo mode is great, I think I'll be spending as much time in that than the actual game!

Their PGW one was probably only to combat the Xbox One X launch and to remind people these big games are still coming. I thought it was a good showing but waaay overhyped, by Sony themselves. In no way was it E3 part 2. It was just E3... with more footage of those games, and no release dates.

Finally started this an hour ago. Dear lord.

Looks great!

Smart move to put an online leaderboard in, I saw someone got up to 22 thousand or something like that??
-
Tomorrow, it begins. This has been the longest 10 days of my gaming life.

Does the photo mode let you save to the Switch photo album or is it only for tweeting etc

Doubt very much they would talk about another game in a focused Direct like this. I think a Zelda trailer out of the blue is the most likely. If the DLC doesn't launch on the same day as the amiibo release, then I think they might reveal it at the Game Awards at the beginning of December. They've had two BOTW exclusives so far over the years so maybe this will be a third.

Finished Thimbleweed Park. Loved it, but I am NOT good at adventure games. Had to use hints and guides a lot to get me through it, some of the puzzles were so obtuse I've no idea how anyone could figure them out without using a guide! Quite a bittersweet ending, but overall lots of fun and great writing/art.

I gave up around the fourth level as well. I wasn't having fun at all and couldn't be bothered looking for the collectibles. The game was really unpolished as well.
-
I'll wait for them to tell us what their online service offers before judging it, at the moment we don't really know anything about it.
-
Last we heard their online service was reported to cost $20, much lower than what Sony and Microsoft are charging, so should keep that in mind when comparing to what the others are doing.
-
That looks like new artwork in the Explorers' Guide, wonder if the guide itself has more.
-
$40 for Wonder Boy??? Are they insane? I enjoyed it but mostly because of the art style. The gameplay was ok but not $40 worth of ok.

This is quite a funny piss taking vid from IGN, the 60 second limit in the demo came was news to them.
