Well, this is currently unconfirmed but is listed on a Japanese blog that continuously leaks the contents of Weekly Famitsu the day before release. In tomorrow's issue, apparently it reveals the game Pokémon Tretta Lab For 3DS. This is a simple 3DS app and comes with a peripheral that allows for scanning of the pucks from the Pokémon Tretta arcade game and used in some manner on the 3DS. It seems that this is just simply a companion app, on par with Pokémon Card Game: How to Play DS as it costs 3800 Yen including the peripheral Labelling as unconfirmed for now, but this follows on from hints in CoroCoro last month.

Starfox Assault was great fun, not entirely sure why people didn't take to it. Its multiplayer just screamed "Make me online", though

I'm really starting to agree that Nintendo's ditching of the big press conference is part of the policy of "Seeing isn't much, but playing is awesome". I know it's pretty anecdotal, but I have several friends who weren't interested in the Wii U at all, but once they got their hands on it, they went out and bought instantly. Now I learn that they're showing it to their friends, loaning their console out for a night and bam, those friends are now buying the console. Having the press play the games Nintendo wish to show straight out. As such, there are no pre-conceived ideas about the game, they're revealed the press at the same time they can play it. People don't get the Wii U until they play it. It's as simple as that

Video Gaming's Near Future: Optimistic or Pessimistic?
Serebii replied to Debug Mode's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I meant a creative crash, not a financial/literal one, though that's not too far out of the question based on the amount of companies that have folded in recent years -
Video Gaming's Near Future: Optimistic or Pessimistic?
Serebii replied to Debug Mode's topic in General Gaming Discussion
On the contrary, in this case it is true. Thankfully, through kickstarter and Nintendo & Sony supporting Indie Development moreso, we may get new life in the industry, but other than that, almost all the "big" developer's games are just the same thing over and over and over. That is stagnation -
I'd love that Metroid/Starfox crossover...but what I'd want to see is three games, all running together with crossovers throughout...basically the same story from three perspectives (Metroid, Starfox and maybe F-Zero) with crossovers of the other characters in between. For example, in Metroid you may get Fox joining you on a mission and in StarFox, Samus' Gunship can be controlled for a mission or two, or as an ally. But one development studio couldn't really do that

Video Gaming's Near Future: Optimistic or Pessimistic?
Serebii replied to Debug Mode's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Absolutely pessimistic. Gaming is stagnated. They've gone for a severe lossleading approach that gaming only hardware makers can't keep up with, since it'd bankrupt them. Development costs for games have also skyrocketed, with many games having to reach 5m units just to break even, which is not that common. Many developers have folded. As such, risks are seldom being taken. Nintendo try to take risks, but because they cannot follow the "Let's put this power on it, times it by 20 and sell it for $300 loss" approach that Microsoft and Sony are, developers aren't bothering with them, especially as third party developers often state they can't compete with Nintendo's own games. I look at the PS4, and the jump isn't as big as I'd like and that will likely also be considered by the general public. Hell, my brother even said it and he's a bloody game developer. Games are just going to stagnate, it's the same shit over and over and even Nintendo has fallen into this somewhat, in their attempt to keep making money. They at least try to make the games different when they're sequels (New Super Mario Bros series notwithstanding). I played through Halo 4 recently and it was just so blah. It all felt like I've done it before. Go to an area, oh look a dozen small guys and a couple big guys...get rid of them, move down the stage a bit more...oh look, a dozen small guys and a couple big guys. I used to love the Halo series, but it's now dead to me. All I am seeing with these new game announcements is the same stuff over and over, typically utilising guns, and I am sick of it. Gaming as an industry will collapse if something isn't done soon. Microsoft and Sony have done potentially irreparable damage to the industry by pushing the lossleading approach so much. -

I still retain knowledge, but before I go and say it, I do google to double check I'm right, just so that I don't seem like an idiot. It is true though, many people will not bother retaining general knowledge with everything easily accessible...but there is a problem with that. Despite the internet being the repository of all knowledge, it also has inaccuracies and lies so people read that on the Internet, assume it's real, and when they share that knowledge, it goes screwy

EA nabs the Star Wars licence. Exclusive multi year deal

Star Wars: Revenge of the Micro-Transactions This is not a good thing. That said, Wii U wise, Disney have a fairly decent relationship with Nintendo and I can see them pushing for all formats -
Solomon's Key and Xevious this week...both 60hz

If I had made a meme and it was on Scribblenauts, I wouldn't look to sue, I'd be happy that something I made has got so big. It's not like they're using it as an advertisement for the game or it's a selling point. Or it's even something that crops up in gameplay as standard...it's a cool little easter egg

To clarify, the 10% is always pre-tax. However, unlike America, our prices are post-tax, so we get 10%'d on the amount that isn't VAT. It's also noteworthy that the money back isn't just for games, but for DLC and everything as well so we'll get it for every game that has DLC, including third party games which go crazy with it.

Saw this on Thursday. Loved it, it was different in tone to the first two and everything just worked well

Rumour: 3D Mario Set To Launch By October

Saw one suggestion say GamePad Screen being a 2D Platformer while the TV is a 3D platformer...same game etc -

Serebii replied to Hero-of-Time's topic in Nintendo Gaming
This tends to be Nintendo's strategy more often than not now, so when things are delayed, people don't bitch. Basically, show nothing until development is practically over and it's just in the debug phase -

With what evidence is there to consider this a rushed release? -

That goes for Nintendo titles in general. The vast majority of Nintendo titles: Mario, Zelda, Pokémon etc. never lower in price. Hell, I saw PokéPark Wii still on sale for £42 the other week
