A new game announcement at last! And one that I'm not at all interested in!

Call me crazy, but shouldn't a conference called 'Wii Keep Our Promise' be about Wii?
-
Glad I'm not the only one who'd prefer Nintendo to spend their time making brand new titles rather than remaking other ones. Sure, Luigi's Mansion was good, and Pikmin 2 was great, but there's no way I'd buy a wii-make just so I could control Luigi's torch / Olimar's cursor a little more precisely with the Wii controller. I certainly would buy brand new sequels to these games, though, if they were specifically designed for the wiimote.

My degree was in French and German, and even though I got a First, and it was only last year, I don't really feel that I could get along that well in a conversation in German - it's such a complicated language, even when you've been learning it for ten years. My French and Linguistics modules were definitely what got me my First. To those of you who think learning things like 'my pencil case is under the table' is a stupid way to start learning a language at primary school, what exactly do you think children should start learning? Languages are taught the way they are so you can get the ground rules of the grammar at an early stage. There's no point teaching business language or or launching straight into 'general conversation' if children don't have any idea about the basics.

I used to vote every week in BB, but for the past few years I've only voted in the finals.

I'm finding Nikki a bit annoying now too, although to be honest, I think that if most people came out of the house and were told that people liked the tantrums, they'd act the way she acts upon going back in. And I still don't think she's playing up to the cameras half as much as John Tickle did when he was put back in. Richard was hilarious in the diary room last night, when BB was speaking to him in Welsh. I didn't use to like Richard, but he's probably my second favourite out of the ones who are left now, after Pete. Glyn is most definitely my least favourite. That reminds me, I really must vote...

Diskun's the only trophy I couldn't get. Some of the things that you had to do, like completing the classic or adventure mode without being hit, were just too difficult.

I'm a primary school teacher, and my class is doing the solar system in September. I think I'll just stick with teaching them the classic nine planets. Besides, I can't be bothered to change my wall display now..
-
Not all of them, though. If you hadn't been able to just buy some of them, there'd be much fewer trophies overall.

I've never liked baked beans. Peas all the way!

I never owned any of the merchandise (except a load of Pogs), but I really loved Power Rangers when I was in Year 6 and 7. I loved the first few series, but grew out of it and lost interest once it all changed after series 3. I didn't think the film was up to much either, to be honest. It was really interesting to read on Wikipedia about how the series developed after I stopped watching, though. It's funny to see how long they kept Bulk and Skull in the series - they were class. It's interesting how much of it they took straight from the Japanese show, too. I remember being confused about why Rita was dubbed when I used to watch it - now I know. Anyone remember VR Troopers? Now that was awful.

Grim Fandango on the PC has a really moving ending. In fact, that game's got probably my favourite storyline in gaming.
-
I've played this with my friends a bit, but like most of the GC games I play with them, they get bored or frustrated quickly because I've had so much more practice than them and I keep beating them all the time.
-
I'm surprised at how much people are getting on day 1 - how are you going to have the time to really get into them? And how will you afford them anyway? I expect I'll get the console, an extra controller, Zelda, Metroid, and Wario, if it's a launch title. That'll be more than enough to keep me going for a while.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Mike replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I wouldn't class these as three delays. When it was delayed last year, they never said it'd be out in March; they just said it'd be sometime after the end of the financial year. At E3 they then announced it'd be a Wii launch title. So it's only really ever had one delay - the one saying that it'd be out this year instead of last year. -
I got this game yesterday, and I've played it for about three hours so far. I agree that the graphics are awful, and the voices and the slow text are irritating, but it's still a great idea for a game. I just hope that a lot of improvements will be made for Park Patrol on the DS. I really hope there are fewer cut scenes in the next game, too - I've had to sit through loads so far.

Red Dwarf was my first sci-fi love, and I also used to watch The Outer Limits and Futurama a lot. The new series of Doctor Who is great, too. My favourite film of all time is also sci fi, too: The Matrix. I don't really read that much, but when I do, it's usually sci fi. I'm currently enjoying The Day of the Triffids, but I also enjoyed I, Robot, The Time Machine, and a few others I can't remember the names of. The Red Dwarf books are all fantastic too (except perhaps Last Human). There's a lot of sci fi that I don't like, though, mostly if it takes itself too seriously. I can't stand Star Wars, for example - I found it incredibly dull. I'm also not really into Star Trek or any other American scifi series.
-
Exactly. If I was desperate to get a game a month or more early, I'd just import it from America, for much less than £50. I agree that the stars catalogue is a disgrace. I've been lucky enough to get a few things from it, but if you're going to offer your customers some sort of reward scheme like this, at least do it properly. I just hope we'll be able to use them to buy retro games on the Virtual Console.
-
I don't think I'll be able to use WiiConnect24 all that much anyway - I don't leave my PC on at night, so there won't be any wireless signal for my Wii to pick up overnight.

Although I'm positive that Jayne will be going next week, I'd rather she stayed for a bit longer, if only because she's one of the few interesting people left in the huose.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)

Why not? He fitted fine into Majora's Mask. I'll be a tad disappointed if Tingle isn't in Twlight Princess, to be honest. -
I really enjoyed that episode, although it did seem to drag on just a bit at the end - nothing really important happened in the last ten minutes. I also think that the way that Pete saved Rose was a bit of a cop out - what are the chances of him dimension jumping at the exact moment that would allow him to catch Rose? Apart from those few little niggles, though, it was a great episode, with some impressive action sequences and some funny exchanges of dialogue, particularly between the Daleks and the Cybermen. I'm looking forward to the Christmas episode, but I don't think it was necessary to introduce it tonight, to be honset.
-
I'm going to see it tomorrow, so I'm pleased that so many of you liked it. I was kind of expecting it to be a Matrix Reloaded-style half-film, i.e. not much substance, and mostly a set-up for the final episode.
-
I think she agrees with me, to be honest. Just because she works for Neo, it doesn't mean she has to like all Japanese films. Neo's not just about films, anyway. Although I'm sure that if we'd seen the original first, we'd have liked it more than we did.

Well OOT is my favourite game ever, too, so Blue_Ninja0's defintely not alone.
