No non-Nintendo characters! I'd hate it if they put Sonic, Viewtiful Joe and all that lot in. As for new characters, I wouldn't mind getting rid of Jigglypuff and Pichu in favour of some decent Pokémon, Wario is a must, Olimar would be interesting, and a Space Pirate would be really cool. I'd also like another F-Zero driver and one of the Wario Ware characters, liek Jimmy T.

Red Steel -1ST Rev game screenshots in gameinformer
Mike replied to guarana's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I'm glad to see that the Revolution's going to be able to hold its own graphically. Saying that, though, I'm not particularly hyped about this game, apart from the obvious 'first Revo screenshots' hype. I'm just not really a fan of FPS games, although I did love Metroid Prime. I think it's a bit early to say 'I'll definitely be getting this as soon as it comes out - it'll be THE game to own!' when we have no idea what the other launch games will be like. Can't wait for E3... -
I've never played a Pilotwings game before either, but I'd probably give this one a go - according to reports from the people who've had a go with the Revolution controller, the 'paper aeroplane' tech demo, which this game may be based on in some ways, worked really well.

I really enjoyed the first series, and started to watch the beginning of the second, but then had a few downloading problems, so had to stop. I can't wait for it to come on telly here.

I did the Young Enterprise thing about six years ago. Our company was called Ego, and we pretty much spent the whole of the time thinking what we could make. I don't think we did anything in the end.

Since when has any date given by Nintendo been 'guaranteed'? Just becuse they've said it'll come out everywhere in 2006, it doesn't mean it will. I certainly hope it will, though..

The Zelda game is good news, although I'm not getting excited about it yet seeing as it won't be out here for at least a year, I imagine. The Sega and Hudson thing I couldn't really care less about though, to be honest. I'm just annoyed that there was absolutely nothing about Twilight Princess (what's the point of keeping silent about this game until E3?), and that they spent most of the speech telling us about non-games like Brain Training that we already know about, and playing games on stage that we've already played / read about from other sources. There's also the fact, of course, that sources such as Big-Tac and others made out there was going to be some hugely exciting news.

Well, I was expecting very little, and I got even less than that. What's Nintendo's recent thing with filling press conferences talking about non-games that we already know all about? I thought there'd be a new Twilight Princess video at the very least. This press-conference goes down with E3 'Aren't Elektroplankton and Nintendogs great!?' 2005 and E3 'Pac-Man is the future of gaming' 2003. Nintendo had better have a good show ready for this year's E3.

That very pleasant thought did cross my mind too.. Only a few hours to go until we find out if it's real, though..
-
If it's anything like what the TV show has been like in the past five years or so, it'll be awful. Especially if they do have the 'Bart loses his virginity' storyline, and they fill it with swearing just to sound cool.
-
This had better not be real - the name just does't make sense, and certainly doesn't sound like the name of a games console. I can just see people saying 'I've got a GO', and people thinking they've said 'I gotta go'. :p The logo's fine, but GO just doesn't sound like a product name. It may as well be called the 'Nintendo Shine Get!'. Please be fake..

I'm not really expecting much Revo news to be honest. I reckon there'll be lots of DS Lite stuff, and if we're lucky, new Zelda info.

The actual expo itself is open at 11.30am American time, so in a few hours we may start to hear about what Nintendo's offering on the show floor, and why it's booked so much space...

F Zero GX - Have you unlocked the AX tracks?
Mike replied to david.dakota's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I don't know what I'd do if my F-Zero data ever got corrupted. It's great being able to keep backup copies of other games; I really wish I could make one of this. -
Only because this poll was posted about on a number of Nintendo sites, including the official one, I'd imagine. Still, if they marketshare did end up reflecting this poll, I'd be very happy.
-
Non-disclosure agreements. It means people have had to sign things to say they won't tell other people about what's going to be announced until Nintendo / Sony / whoever, are ready for everyone to know.

F Zero GX - Have you unlocked the AX tracks?
Mike replied to david.dakota's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Interesting tip there, FAZ. I don't really understand what difference it'd make either, but if it worked for you... I did it in 60Hz, though. My tip would be, like someone said already, learn to kill as many other crafts as possible, with the sideways attack. If you're in a decent enough craft, you can get rid of the person just behind you right at the start line, if you hold back for a bit, so the other craft gets to your level. The first course of the Diamond Cup is good for knocking others off (although it's very easy to fall off yourself, so be careful), as is the Fire Field track in the Diamond Cup (that was the only one I ever destroyed 10 crafts in one race). Going after your rival is obviously a good idea, too. What else could I suggest? Well, if you don't come first (or thereabouts) in the first race of a cup, just restart the cup - it's not worth carrying on if you're behind from the start. Memorising the boosts is a good idea, too, especially in the first track of the Emerald Cup. Overall, though, just stick with the craft you feel most confortable with. For me that was the Astro Robin - I wasted quite a bit of time trying it out with crafts I wasn't really used to, just for a change. EDIT: Just thought of a tip for the Big Blue course on the Emerald Cup - if you're near the end of the last lap, and you're really far behind (so far that you can't win the cup), just try bashing yourself against the walls on the final straight. I did that when I beat the cup, and the force of my craft exploding threw me into the air, past at least ten other crafts and over the finish line. Basically, though, a lot of it's down to luck. :p -
But doesn't the expo open on Wednesday? If so, we're bound to hear some reports from that tomorrow.

From http://www.gotfuturama.com: Update: I'm getting different bits of info that say this news may not be the case. There IS something up Futurama project wise but but it might be the DVD's still. It's hard to keep up with things--but I'll try to do better. Sorry, Billy So there you have it folks, the return of Futurama as a series may not be the case as of right now. In related news that backs up the idea of Futurama coming to DVD rather than TV, Bill Morrisson recently spoke to a fan about how the Futurama Movie script is almost finished at a convention in Germany. Woot. Update 2: (mArc) Another well-informed source tells us that there was no basis in reality for the 26 episode rumour. The plan to make direct-to-DVD movies is still existing.

Great news! I didn't really like season 4 that much, but hopefully this break will have given the writers a bit of time to get some really good stories and gags for season five. Cant wait!

What a very dull webchat. At least things can only get better for GDC next week..
-
I'd be very surprised if PS3 didn't lead, sales-wise, next generation, as the brand name alone is enough to guarantee that casual gamers will buy it. Still, I voted for Nintendo as that's who I obviously want to win.

Zelda: Twilight Princess Discussion (SPOILERS: BEWARE)
Mike replied to EchoDesiato's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I can't imagine the game will take 100 hours either. Nintendo often over-estimate when it comes to saying how long it will take to complete a game, and I doubt this will be an exception. I'm with masaki86 on this one - I reckon the main quest will take around 30 hours, but hey, I'd love to be proven wrong. I've got a feeling that there's going to be a lot of disappointed gamers when it takes them less than 100 hours to complete..
