Spoiler-Free The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Thread
Mike replied to Tellyn's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I didn't really like the music in TWW to be honest, especially the tracks that were just poor, fairly lifeless remixes of OOT tracks, like the Forest Haven music. I loved the OOT soundtrack, though. -
I'm 8th on the list at my GameStation. If I'm not there at the midnight launch, and they're doing this first come, first served thing, might that mean that I might not get one if I go in on Friday evening?
-
They showed the Wii Sports ad during Coronation Street on Monday, which must have had a lot of people watching..

I like the idea of Miis in Smash Bros, actually. I don't think it's impossible, either. After all, there's only so many Wii Sports-esque games Nintendo could make, and it'd be a shame if the use of Miis in games was only limited to games from around the launch period. I wouldn't mind Tingle either, to be honest. :p

I'm playing through Yoshi's Island 2 to fill the void. With the amount of work I've got at the moment, that shoud easily take me up to the 8th, and I doubt I'll be able to finish the game 100% by then either. I'll also have the December bugs and fish to look for in Animal Crossing next weekend, too, which will no doubt take a while.

My girlfriend will love this game.

I'll probably be extremely boring and call it 'Michael'. Creative, ain't I?
-
I agree with you there. I wonder if the Famitsu really sat there playing the game thinking, 'this is good, but nowhere near as good as Nintendogs'! I'm actually quite surprised that TP scored less than The Wind Waker, too.

So...Anybody apart from me got anything positive to say about this?

http://raincloud.warnerbros.com/wbmovies/orderofthephoenix/teaser/teaser_500.mov Looks all right to me, although Phoenix is my least favourite out of all the books. This trailer also features one of the first looks at Umbridge (not as toady as I would've liked..) and Bellatrix LeStrange. Glad to see Sirius back properly, too. I still don't really like this new(-ish) Dumbledore - he hasn't played him at all how I imagined the character to be, he's much too angry and aggressive. Saying that though, I suppose he does fit into the 'moody Dumbledore' character for Phoenix, though.

I had a dream last night that I as at the midnight launch, picking up my Wii and Zelda (but they didn't have any copies of Wii Play or spare nunchucks for some reason). Then I woke up and realised there are still three weeks, to go and I was really disappointed. :p

Zelda gets another perfect 10 at Nintendo World Report (formerly Planet Gamecube): http://www.nintendoworldreport.com/reviewArt.cfm?artid=12434 That's a spoiler-free review, by the way.

I'm glad that the main things that Matt didn't like in Zelda were the lack of voice acting (that would be horrible in Zelda); MIDI music (there's nothing wrong with it, IMO, if it's done well); and the graphics (I've not really seen much footage of 360 or PS3 games, so I've only really got previous gen games to compare it to anyway ). The only thing that really bothered me was the fact that some bits seem overly-familiar, but even that's a minor quibble. I still can't believe it'll be better than OOT, but I'm sure I'll enjoy it more than The Wind Waker.

What's wrong with discussing this in the reviews thread?

Three long weeks... Now I know how Cartman felt. -
Same here. Apparently Meta Ridley was made harder in the PAL versionn, though.

1UP has posted some very positive, spoiler-free impressions of the game's controls. Glad to see they don't feel like a last-minute addition. http://www.1up.com/do/previewPage?cId=3155175 -
Wow, Homer gets hurt doing something stupid. We haven't seen that before. I just can't understand why so many of you found this so hilariously funny. It pretty much only consisted of one 'joke' anyway. This hasn't made me any more excited about the new film at all. Sure it'll be a box office smash, though. Oh, and they stole the whole 'aren't CGI movies great - but here's a 2D movie!' gag from the South Park film trailer.

Am I the only one who considers Hero-Of-Time's list of what's in the strategy guide a spoiler? There was certainly stuff in there I hadn't known before, and didn't want to know yet. -
Am I the only one who prefers her Fusion suits? It was great being able to unlock them in Prime.

I'm surprised how young so many people here. I'm sure there must be some users who are nearer to my age, and older.

Well, they've started posting unmarked spoilers in the other Zelda thread now, so people had better keep out if they don't want to see anything. I just got a brief glimpse of the world map, although I didn't see very much, as I scrolled away quickly. -
Only if you've got your Wii display set to widescreen, I'd imagine.

I'm 23, and joined when the Freeloader was released, so I could trade Animal Crossing items with other people on the board. That was February 2003, so I was 19 at the time.
