Always worth checking. I halved my car insurance and thirded (that's totally a word) the home insurance last time they were up for renewal.

Cheers guys. I try to post a new photo every day and I've got enough gaming crap to last me years!

Started an Instagram account for my retro/collectable stuff: Sweaty Thumbsticks

Got some free tickets to the British Touring Car Championship race at Silverstone:

Some photos from my recent trip to Barcelona, which is an utterly beautiful city, full of great people and endless stunning vistas (all of which I couldn't possibly have captured): Found a stray cat: Which we found out had a stray kitten sibling: And then the stray mother came out to keep an eye on things: The best view in the city, although the photo doesn't begin to do it justice. The angle of the seats, combined with how much of the city you can see is just breathtaking. I could have sat here all day: Of course I found a retro VW:

Me and Maddie ended up saving £30k, but that was mainly because it took so long to actually buy somewhere. We made the offer when we had about £15k - £20k. We ended up paying a £13.5k deposit and spending about £5k - £10k on furniture, doing the place up and fees.

A rather smashing handle for my GoPro.

I feel this is the male equivalent of when women are at Anne Summers parties and one says "I think I've had an orgasm" and the rest of the women say "Oh honey, you'd know if you had" and then hand her the Mega-Stim 5000 and point her to the back room.
-
Alas, nothing as exciting. Although when I met Maddie, she did have 3 dads. Her Mum and Dad divorced and both married men (different ones, obviously). Imagine the delight I had in discovering that there were 3 Dads ready to kick my arse if I upset her. Good times.

Awesome news, glad it all went well. My good news isn't quite as impressive, but 2 weeks off work. First week my girlfriend's dads are staying with us, then we're off to Barcelona for the second week.

The house I grew up in didn't have a shower until my late 20's. I'm well used to baths!
-
Our bathroom is one of our "project rooms" and we eventually plan to knock through to the toilet to make a single room. In the meantime, I got fed up with not having a shower, so me and my dad re-tiled and we had a guy out to change the individual taps to a single mixer/shower thing. After 2 years, we now have a shower (forgive the awful photo, it's nicer IRL): Not bad for a temporary solution and much better than it was, especially considering I've never tiled before (and never will again. Ever).

GoPro Hero 5 Session: Just looking at the footage now, so I can't comment on the image quality yet, but it's a fantastic little camera so far. Bit fiddly having to use the app to set it up and frame the shots, but pretty good otherwise. Build quality is really good.

I get 5 o clock shadow at 4 and last time I ejaculated, I'm fairly sure it growled at me. I think I'm manly enough.

Bikes are cool as shit. Just look how quickly @nightwolf came running back as soon a we posted about bikes.

God damn it, I've even found a helmet that I must have. £400+ though:

I'd take any of them, new or old. Although I do prefer the round headlights of the early ones. Plus I don't think the newer ones come in black and gold. It's all about that John Player Special colour scheme. I keep thinking about just getting a new one on finance (after passing the test, obviously), but I try to avoid debt wherever I can.

I've been contemplating a motorbike for years, but never really took it seriously, but recently I've been thinking a bike would be good for commuting, due to better fuel economy. I then left that idea behind and just decided I want a rad bike. It's also not helped by the fact that my boss is quite into his bikes and someone else is in the process of learning to ride. I'm basically hell bent on getting a Triumph Street Triple, as everywhere I read says that it's a good first "big" bike and is relatively easy to ride. Plus, it just looks the absolute tits. Black and gold please: Just need to save the £6k needed for the tests, the bike and the gear. No problem... Edit: Just noticed it's the same bike @Shorty posted about on the previous page (And presumably bought). Utter bastard. *Not jealous*

I should be able to make it, although I'm now paranoid that I have other plans during August. Will report back. It's one of the highlights of my year, so I will do what I can to be there.

Until Dawn is a brilliant game. I'd even go as far as saying it's the most cinematic game I've ever played. Definitely the best in the (admittedly limited) genre. Think Heavy Rain, but absolutely nailing the teen slasher movie setting.
-
Nope. I've looked all over it and can't see any markings or serial numbers. Not even sure who to ask really.

Finally made a start on the garden/patio area. I don't have any before photos, but we had a rotten wood planter that was full of random engine parts and had a colossal blackberry bush growing on top. There were also weeds all along the wall about half way to the window sill. The removed engine parts: How the patio area looks now: Just need to take the old patio up, put a new one down (properly, so that we don't constantly have weeds between the slabs) and tidy the rest up.

The Scirocco failed it's MOT on a dud brake and the battery stopped holding charge, which I only discovered once I was at the test centre. Still, not too bad for a car that's probably older than a fair few of the people on here. Ironically, I keep it off the road over winter to protect it, but the lack of use is probably what's stopped the brake from working.
