  1. I played Journey. Words fall short.
  2. @RedShell The way I see it is that NINTENDO is the father of videogames and thus I would like to see them be as varied in their output as possible. To show the world what videogames is all about. It can be art. It can move you. It can move families. It can make you question the world. It can make you sweat. It can be fun. NINTENDO is the only company in the world whose bread and butter is making nothing else but incredible gaming hardware and software. Ideally, I'd like to see them as frontrunners in all that games and the gaming world can be, but I guess they can only do so much. And for what they have done and are doing I am more than greatful. Heck, I wouldn't say it's their fault entirely that we're not seeing certain games. It's just the nature of the way this faul market works and which kills creativity and risk taking far more than people would admit.
  3. There can only be one King
  4. Are we doing the 'N-E Awards' this year? I would advice that we don't do categories like 'Most Disliked N-E person' or anything of the like on account of the recent events in the NINTENDO gaming section. People will most likely get banned:laughing:
  5. I'm genuinly curious what the development and philosophy was behind this game: Was it NINTENDO's attempt to get a piece o' that 'gritty, narrative lovin' Sony/Xbox crowd'?
  6. Every day, son. Every day for a year, that's the Animal Crossing code if you purchase one.
  7. I took the Turnip-plunge again, fellas. About 800.000 worth of Turnips, I bought. Hoping to make a goood profit
  8. Regarding the new IP discussion, I think we shouldn't forget that, next to gameplay, a new and interesting setting plays a vital role in many a person's enjoyment of a game. Getting to know a new lore, a new world with new characters, a new set of rules and a different design choice is very welcoming to me instead of just reusing the 'Mario World' or the 'Kirby World' and adding some new enemies. The fact that people talk about Pikmin being one of NINTENDO's last original in-house IPs is a bit of a narrow view, but I can find no fault with it because what we've gotten since then from NINTENDO themselves hasn't shown us "a new lore, a new world with new characters, a new set of rules and a different design choice" in a grand worthy-of-a-home-console way. At least not to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. Again, I think it boils down to the fact that, as much as a game is about gameplay, the medium has become much more than that and everything around it, from the music right down to the graphics and characters you interact with, aren't all that satisfying when it is kept within the same setting. One of my favourite games of all time, Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door, or even the series as a whole (same with the Mario&Luigi series by the way) is a very good example of how you can use your existing franchise but still give a whole new spin to it. You just get to look at the Mushroom Kingdom in an entirely different way and when that was all said and done Mario and co. set out to discover new worlds with even more stranger folks and habits (Bean Bean Kingdom says hi ) Why aren't we seeing a 3D Mario game set in the Bean Bean Kingdom, or in the Dimensions of Super Paper Mario? Anyway, bottom line is that I would love to see a new in-house franchise or two which introduces a whole new set of rules, characters and what have you to take its place amongst the NINTENDO greats. Ever since Miyamoto said that he was really into swimming (or helping out a the pool or something like that) I've been thinking that there really hasn't been a full-fledged underwater action/adventure/puzzle/explorer game. Think Star Fox meets Finding Nemo. Giving all sorts of sea creatures a personality and whatnot with an Endless Ocean joke here and there Perhaps make it 'dark' in the sense that humans are devastating the 7 seas and that you and your fellow sea dwellers have a job to do and clean up this mess. The final boss could be a plastic mass the size of Texas. I feel this could be a really cool game with lots of interesting things to do, lots of interesting characters to meet and to absolutely nail water physics/graphics. It would also be one of those game in which just swimming around and exploring the seven seas would be very satisfying. A bit like Zelda underwater perhaps? Regarding charactes, they could bring in all sorts of references such as the White Whale, mermaids, crazy Japanese monsters, Zoras, The Kraken, The crazy world of deep sea creatures, James Cameron, etc... Perhaps you could also play as multiple characters with different abilities such as a Whale, a Stingray, Engarde , a Krab, the possibilities are endless. Playing as a huge school of fish in order to beat much bigger fish. They could divide it in a different character per sea (there are 7 seas remember) and have them come together for the final 'battle/exploration'. Each Sea has a totally different vibe just like in Little King's Story. Oh dear, I've gone and done it. Got to contain myself now. ... Anyway, I'd love to see a grand underwater 3D adventure exploring game
  9. I am still very cross with NINTENDO about the fact they're not giving us an amazing F-Zero open World game in which racing is the main attraction.
  10. Alright, lights in the cedar trees. Quite the sight in my Cedar Tree forest
  11. This isn't just in the UK, my friend. I've heard from many a mainland European that NINTENDO consoles are not for that 'full-fledged gaming experience' like you have with your Mass Effect or your Last of Us. Take Poland for instance. Apparently only 300 or so people have a WiiU there and NINTENDO sections in stores are found in a dimly lit corner somewhere.
  12. I'm building Snowmen for sure! Will add you if I haven't done already and will hopefully see you online!
  13. Haha, 's cool. I got the cherries now, but thanks anyway
  14. Thanks, will do! See you tonight! The train isn't coming to pick me up.... Shall I open my gates?
  15. What I'm really wondering is what other 3rd Party support can the WiiU expect other than WatchDogs and an awesome indie line-up?
  16. This was the last Advance Wars released on the DS and brought with it a major overhaul in artstyle, story and to an extent gameplay. Intelligent Systems toned the gameplay down a little in comparison to the insane onslaught of units, powers and perks that were present in its predecessor: Dual Strike was the accumulation of the previous Advance Wars titles and thus had insane new units like an insane suicide bomber plane which took out 5 hp of your units within 5 squares! It also was able to move 10 spaces so could basically come at you out of nowhere and blow itself up. Some Team ups with their Dual Strikes were also insanly powerful which made the game rather unbalanced when playing with friends. That's why my friends and I were quite grateful for the adjustments that were made to the sequel. You're looking at a die-hard Advance Wars fan here who has been playing the franchises with friends for over 10 years now. We have a lot of ideas for the next Advance Wars and we were thinking of maybe emailing Intelligent Systems about it
  17. From a personal standpoint, I need a new Advance Wars. On Wiiu or 3DS, either is fine.
  18. You have been added. Gates will be open around 6pm UK time. @Mr_Master_X2 You leaving a brother hanging here?
  19. I've got the update, talked to all my villagers today, all was cool. Say, do I have you as a fellow Animal Crossing die hard in my friendlist? Edit: Just checked, added you now, good times incoming from one Crosser to another
  20. Is it just me, or does Europe get way more Japanese options in their games than the US? For instance, did the US get Japanese voices in their Xenoblade version? Japanese voices in Bravery Default? Japanese option in Rhythm Paradise Wii? I'm certainly not complaining.
  21. Whatever happened to the spiritual sequel to Eternal Darkness? I'm going through the original right now, and think it would be a darn shame if nothing were to become of that project.
  22. That guy is sooooo good. And so is this guy, of course: Still probably the best thing about this game.
  23. So are there now also rumours of The Flash entering this movie ins some shape or form?
  24. Veeery interesting times indeed!
  25. As long as my flowers don't die I'm good. @everyone I am in desperate need of perfect cherries. Anybody have some?
